2nd Sep 2026 (9 weeks ago)Eight weeks into the buying process and days from finalising the mortgage application, I was gazumped by another buyer. Throughout this time this agency continued to run viewings on the property when I had been told my offer had been accepted it was off the market. I spend significant time and money moving to get the purchase finalised but the seller/ estate agents decide to gazump me. Very unprofessional service and I would definitely avoid them if you can and go somewhere that sticks to agreed purchase deals.

2nd Mar 2019 (7 years ago)We are student at Durham University and we decided to rent a house. I called the estate agent and they agreed to send us the agreement and everything to rent this one house that we really liked. We were supposed to arrive a week later to submit the forms and pay deposit. When I got the papers, they confirmed with us that the house would be definitely be reserved for us. However, the morning we were supposed to hand in the papers, I got a short, badly articulated email saying that the property was no longer available and that we should look somewhere else. No explanation, nothing. We were angry because student accommodation is competitive and we lost so much time waiting for this house. Upon emailing them multiple times, they finally said that the previous tenants decided to stay for another year. Didn’t they confirm with the current tenants that they would be moving out? Why would they even list the house if that was an option? .Why send us the agreements and everything? They didn’t even bother trying to find us other options that we could stay at instead. All and all, I would never use this agent again because their service is absolutely terrible

11th Jul 2026 (17 weeks ago)We selected Reeds Rains- Gosforth as our agent because they seemed to be the most knowledgeable about the market for our property. They recommended an asking price that was higher than our expectation, and were prompt in finding a buyer within a short time scale. Their fee for their services was both reasonable and the most competitive. We were impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of all the staff and their promptness in answering all our queries. We highly recommend Reeds Rains to any prospective seller.

Be aware that they say if I go ahead and sell to someone they have contacted which was only automated e-mails sent out that is e-mailing people at random then they can claim a fee from you by saying they were the first to introduce the person to your property up for sale, if that person buys from the property at a later date. Under valued the property saying it was to generate interest at auction then kept asking to reduce the selling price this was only after a couple of weeks, that seems to be the most proactive they were asking me to reduce it by £15k. Removed property of sites, claiming it was to generate interest, so it was not showing as up for sale at one point. Put the wrong auction date, a date which had passed when first posted. Was supposed to be a stress free process as I had explained to them I had health problems including mental health. Was anything else but.

18th May 2023 (3 years ago)Huge thank you to Jeanette snd Mary who helped with the purchase of our new home. It was quite stressful for us at times and we had a few (a lot!) bumps in the road. We were very dependent on the team especially towards the end of the buying process for many reasons. I truly believe without their help on an almost daily basis we would still be waiting for the sale to have been finalised. We are now 4 weeks in our new home and are so happy. The stress long forgotten. The team are Very professional, very “on it” and also want to do the best for the buyer. Thank you all.

30th Oct 2023 (3 years ago)Tenants Avoid. We didn’t even make the end of our 1yr tenancy. Issues with damp in the property took ages to resolve, property was frozen during cost of living. No sympathy from anyone at HP, people who came to look at damp were rude and condescending. Genuinely made me wonder why I was paying rent if none of that money can be used to make properties habitable. If you’re smart enough to look at reviews before signing the tenancy, you’re smart enough to reconsider. Wish we had.

We were kept informed through financial statements and given guidance on legal practicalities. They were quick to get new tenants and got a buyer for the property in a short time despite difficult market conditions. We very much appreciate the work they did for us.
