An absolutely disgusting experience with these people.
Myself and my partner made the mistake of renting a property from Griffin residential, these people will try to side step their responsibilities as landlords at every available opportunity.
After being told that vermin entering the property via holes on the outside of the building was the tenants problem to deal with, it became very clear that these people lack any kind of empathy or compassion for their fellow human beings.
As a gesture of "good will" Griffin eventually came and poured concrete into the holes where rats were coming under and then in to the house, not solving the problem but instead trapping vermin under the proper indefinitely.
This also speaks volumes about the level of competence Griffin's employed contractors have...
After having my home pretty much condemned for human habitation by a third party rat inspector (sent by Griffin) a baiting regime was eventually put in place. All of this would have been great in the first few weeks of reporting the problem with rats, but instead the whole process took about 8 months from start to finish.
So after that nightmare, our boiler breaks down... To my surprise Griffin send out an engineer the same day, not to my surprise, he can't fix it... Tells me he'll be back tomorrow with whatever part he needs.
He comes back with the part, tells me he's fixed it and shuffles off... He hasn't fixed it.
Saturday and Sunday pass and we have no hot water... We haven't had hot water for 5 days when a new plumber turns up Monday evening, 5 minutes spent with the boiler cover off and he reckons he's fixed it.. Would you believe he actually fixed it....
Brilliant, call Griffin and see if there's something we can do to adjust our rent payment for this month as we've been without hot water for nearly a week, you know what these guys did...?
Issued me with an eviction notice...
For anybody thinking about dealing with these people, please take my advice, do yourself the biggest favour and just don't. Please contact me directly and I will be happy to forward correspondence between myself and these people so you can truly see the extent of their unprofessional approach to everything.
Oh and if that's not enough, Griffin residential then tried to claim double the amount of my deposit back for repairs and decoration of the property after refusing to allow me to be present at the check out inventory.
It's OK though, the independent adjudication service that Griffin use to settle deposit disputes has literally just awarded me most of my deposit back.
And now I'm thinking about it, Griffin is probably the only estate agents I've seen with a protective glass barrier in front of the reception desk.
Anyway nice try Griffin, it's been fun ????????
