I have been forced to write this because I want everyone to be aware of what we are getting into here.
I have been renting one of their house for the last 2 year, I have just started my third and for all this time I have always been patient and respectful with them, but it seems the more you educated you are with them the less they care.
I pay a lot of money for my rent because is "managed" and let met tell you, a managed property is just a rip off to take more money from you and the landlord, because the level of quality and service is ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS.
I don't have a single positive experience, when one wrong thing happens it may due to many reasons, 2 well it may happen, BUT when EVERY SINGLE time it happens is just the same, it means that is how they are.
The house I rent is old, so obviously you are going to encounter lots of issues over time, which is fine is nobody's fault, but if to fix those issues it takes you MONTHS, YEARS and many emails and calls, then THERE is an issue.
When I first moved the heating wasn't working properly, it would start and stop at random times, asked them hundreds of times to find and fix the problem, they said they could not find anything wrong I had to pay someone to find the problem and then request them to change the damage part, of course that is money they never gave me back. (it took 8 months to solve this)
5 months after I moved the electricity in the house started to just switch off at random moments, you could imagine how irritating that is, but more than that it was the possibility of something dangerous happening that could potentially get the house on fire, not to forget that I may come home to find the freezer and fridge off and the food damaged of course.
For such a serious problem it took them 4 months to even SEND someone to check what the problem was, 2 visits and the problem was found, it was a simple thing, but it took them 4 months to send someone.
The Lino in the kitchen was ruined because of the electric problem, by moving everything in the kitchen, fridge, freezer and so on.
I requested to change it (either by me BY ME PAYING, but since I need approval for any change since is not my house I could not do it even if I paid for it) it took them 18 Months, yes 1.5 Years to change the Lino.
Last week the freezer completely died so I lost all my food, hundreds of pounds worth of food, but is ok, is not their fault that the freezer died, stuff happens, fine.
However I have used their web portal, called them, but they say this is not an emergency, a week later, still NOTHING, I can't buy meat or anything that needs to be frozen, because well they don't care.
You call them all they say is we will call you back, THEY DON'T.
I don't understand why me or the Landlord pay this agency for, it makes no sense is giving them money for DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
I am on the border of desperation that you fear anything happens because you will have to deal with an agency that doesn't care absolutely at all.
I just renewed my contract as I said and I would really like to speak with my landlord to understand because honestly it makes no sense, they have not even given me a copy of my contract for the last 2 years, which BY LAW I SHOULD HAVE.
I am borderline desperate, if the Landlord reads this (this is going to be post on facebook too) I would really like to have a chat with him I am sure with my name he knows who he is.

We bought a house via Connells Estate Agents in Bicester and had an appalling experience, from being bullied by the negotiator to outright harassment. Incidentally it was very interesting to find out from the sellers what he was telling them about us as buyers which was totally untrue.
