16th Jan 2022 (3 years ago)submitted a tenancy application for a home in Barrow. The application asked whether I'd been subject to a Section 21 order. I thought it was an irrelevant question as it had no bearing on ones likelihood to be a good or a bad tenant; however, I answered the question honestly by stating 'no' because I'd only received a Section 21 notice. Only a court can issue an order. Poole Townsend then accused me of lying on the application and it was rejected. In the end, I should be thankful to Poole Townsend because my experience with them caused me to realise that a miserable, economically deprived, unfriendly and uneducated community wasn't the right place for me and that my talents would be better appreciated elsewhere. With estate agents like this it is no wonder Barrow has such a poor reputation.

Nicola was the complete professional, friendly and well informed about the area so able to suggest a clear marketing strategy if I was to go ahead with sale. Also offered advice on what would be required (or not) in order to achieve the best for the property. Still deciding whether to go ahead, but would be more than to use their services or recommend.

4th Feb 2025 (6 days ago)The original photos taken for the listing weren't great, and were not done by a professional. After I mentioned it they were more than happy to get the photos redone and were much better second time round. Lovely staff and overall a pleasure to deal with.

18th Mar 2024 (10 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

Adam is a genuinely nice guy and this, in combination with his impressive knowledge and expertise, got our house sold (for the full asking price) in less than 3 weeks! Since then, Adam has continued to offer us advice and support and has been an absolute pleasure to work with. We honestly couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend him to anyone!

I live in the US, so much of the communication had to happen via WhatsApp, but that went fine - Mark was always quick to respond and clear about all the details.
