The attention to detail and customer service from the management and booking team was outstanding. The lodge was top quality and had every facility to make the stay comfortable. Would highly recommend and will be booking again in the future.

There were a few complications with my application, and Helen went above and beyond to resolve them quickly and efficiently. Her knowledge and professionalism were clear throughout, and she made the whole process smooth and stress-free — especially as we were moving from abroad. Antony was our main point of contact and from the onset of marketing our property we can honestly say we have never met anyone with so much passion and enthusiasm for their job. He was informative, helpful, friendly and approachable with nothing being too much trouble for him. He took time to explain the process and answer our queries, keeping us informed throughout what was a long and difficult sale at times. Everyone else in the office were equally as helpful and there is a lot to be said for using a small, local estate agent. They really care about their clients and try their upmost to facilitate sales and purchases. Thank you all for a superb service. We would thoroughly recommend this estate agent to anyone considering buying or selling a property. Well done team and thank you.

On the last viewing told us we had secured it in the Saturday only to be told on the Tuesday that there was a higher bid. We have been brought in as a bidding baite in this property. Avoid this agent! No office to even call in

A truly excellent team, never was a call or email unanswered, continuously kept updated and everything with the sale of our home was taken care of perfectly. If you are looking to sell your property look no further than Roscoe Rogers and Knight, by far the best estate agent we have ever dealt with.

From the initial advice about preparing the property for marketing, through the numerous accompanied viewings they arranged, to securing a satisfactory offer and ultimately a sale they kept us informed throughout. Its a conscientious ‘go the extra mile’ service you get from what is a family run business. They are approachable, always return calls, and importantly their commission is very competative. I have no hesitation in recommmending CJ Hole, Hucclecote.

13th Dec 2025 (20 weeks ago)Strakers kept finding us potential buyers and organising viewings despite three sales falling through. They were persistent, empathetic and kept in touch. They have kept an eye on the place since it has been empty and honestly they couldn't have been more helpful. I really would recommend them. Quite honestly, they are the full package and their friendly staff are second to none.
15th Jul 2025 (9 mo. ago)Overpromised, Underperformed and Untrustworthy – My Costly Mistake with HSD I initially listed my property with PurpleBricks in March 2025 for £535,000. After limited viewings over a three-month period, I began exploring other options and submitted an enquiry to WeBuyAnyHouse. They quickly came back with an offer of £460,000—roughly 14% below asking—claiming it would allow for a quick sale. I immediately declined, as I was not in a rush and didn’t want to take such a significant loss. Shortly after, my details were apparently passed on to House Sales Direct (HSD), seemingly a sister company, without my explicit consent. HSD came across as professional and engaging at first. They promised a 98% success rate in selling properties within 28 days, citing a strong network of pre-approved buyers and investors who could complete within 6–8 weeks. They suggested a sale price spread of £510k–£535k, assuring me they would work to get me the best price possible. It sounded promising. Based on these assurances, I decided to proceed with HSD. I withdrew my PurpleBricks listing—costing me £300—with the understanding that HSD’s investor network would accelerate the sale. But things quickly began to unravel. Despite supposedly having investors lined up, HSD said they needed to relist my property on Rightmove first. When I questioned why investors couldn’t simply view the home, the response was vague. It took nearly two weeks for them to relist, and the new asking price was £525,000. A full week passed without any communication. Then came a call recommending the price be dropped to £499,000. I was told this was “just a marketing tactic,” and that they still aimed to get me a sale within the original £510k–£535k range. But I struggled to understand how listing a property nearly £40,000 lower would achieve that. I asked again about the investors. They finally admitted the only offer received was the same £460k I'd declined weeks earlier through WeBuyAnyHouse. This was when the red flags really began to show. Why wasn’t I told this upfront? Why present an optimistic price range if their investor offer was fixed at £460k from the beginning? Why was I encouraged to pull the property from PurpleBricks if they intended to rely on the open market anyway? I could have just reduced the price there and avoided unnecessary costs and delays. Doing more research online, I found stories from others with eerily similar experiences. It appeared HSD’s real model was to attract sellers with high expectations and then drop the price, relying on open-market tactics to force a quick sale. Despite claiming not to charge commission, they would never clearly explain how they made their money. It seems they may be negotiating higher prices with buyers while offering sellers less—profiting off the gap. No transparency, no trust. Meanwhile, they knew I was paying a high mortgage on an empty property. It became clear they were hoping I’d become desperate enough to accept the same low £460k offer I had already rejected twice. In the four weeks my property was listed with them, only four viewings were arranged. Two were no-shows. Of the remaining two, one viewer stayed for just five minutes—asked no questions and didn’t even view all the rooms. It felt performative, not serious. As expected, neither viewer submitted an offer, despite supposedly being “pre-qualified and keen.” Eventually, I told HSD I wanted to withdraw the property. That’s when I was informed—shockingly—that I had unknowingly signed up for a 52-week contract, and I’d need to pay £1,500 to exit, or £999 if paid within 7 days. I wrote to them, acknowledged that they had done some work, and offered a reasonable £699 exit fee, explaining I needed to rent the home out due to financial strain. They refused and insisted on full payment. I paid the £999 immediately—but it still took a full week and several chasers before they finally removed the property from Rightmove. By the end of the ordeal, it was clear I was no longer a priority for them. In summary: Do I regret choosing HSD? Absolutely. Would I recommend them to someone looking for a fair, transparent, and professional house sale experience? No. If your only goal is to sell quickly and you don’t care about value, they might work for you. But if you want to sell your home at a decent price with a partner you can trust, I strongly advise staying away from HSD.

Had a issue regarding my sale and a neighbour's tree and Ian kept me calm and reassured in what was a very stressful time. Dealing with Claire on the phone was also very easy. Would definitely use H&H again and recommend to anyone to use in Chepstow and surrounding areas.
6th Mar 2026 (8 weeks ago)I recently completed my purchase and move from England to Wales and wanted to express my gratitude to the team at Fine and Country. Keeley was constantly available and helped me organise multiple visits over the year to different properties and her advice was very much needed. Corrine met me at all the houses and was very knowledgeable about them and the different locations. I visited my dream home 3 times with Corrine who was super friendly and made me feel so comfortable and gave me time in the house. Once agreed that this was my house the team went above and beyond to secure this house for me. Alice was then bought in for my sale and she was exceptional throughout, she stayed in constant touch with me, chased multiple people in the chain, was lightning speed at responding and became my therapist throughout the whole process. Once the purchase was complete and we headed to exchange and completion the real stress began. Alice did everything in her power to ensure my move went as smoothly as it could and even when there was obstacles Alice got me through it. Corrine even went to my house and waited for furniture to be delivered 2 weeks before I moved in and on my moving day Corrine met me with a plate full of lovely cakes and welcomed me to Wales with the biggest hug that I needed. My eternal thanks to this amazing team of women who helped me, listened to me and looked after me for the past year. Alexandra

Warren and especially Megan have gone the extra mile and I was kept informed of progress the whole step of the way, no question was too much to answer. Both properties sold within just a few weeks at the marketed price. The pictures and write ups that were produced of the properties were fantastic. It’s a ten out ten from me.

Renting a new place can be pretty stressful, especially when you’re juggling everything that comes with moving, but he made the whole process feel smooth and manageable. He was always clear, detailed, and patient with every question I had (and I had quite a few!). Nothing ever felt rushed, and he handled everything with real professionalism and calmness, which I really appreciated during such a hectic time. It’s rare to come across someone who genuinely cares about doing a good job and supporting you properly through the process. I’ll definitely be recommending him by word of mouth, but I also felt the company and Kurt deserved proper recognition here. Thank you again for making what could have been a stressful experience so much easier. Highly recommended.
