5th May 2026 (6 weeks ago)Disappointing experience. Took time off work to attend a viewing, only to have the agent discuss a live offer with the seller in front of me during the appointment. It made for a really awkward and unprofessional situation. While they later acknowledged it could have been handled differently, they ultimately stood by their actions. Needless to say I wound trust then to be involved in and sales or purchase. Basic discretion during viewings shouldn’t be too much to expect right?

11th Jan 2026 (22 weeks ago)I bought my house through Jan Foster Estate Agents over a year ago, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst and most stressful experiences of my life. What should have been an exciting milestone turned into an absolute nightmare because of the way this company operates and, in particular, because of the behaviour of Ashley, the agent I dealt with. From the very beginning, Ashley was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. He spoke to me in a condescending manner, showed no patience, and made me feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a client making one of the biggest purchases of my life. Simple questions were met with attitude, poor communication, or no response at all. At times, he was outright disrespectful, which is completely unacceptable in any profession, let alone estate agency. Communication throughout the process was shocking. I was constantly left chasing for updates, clarification, and basic information that should have been provided without me having to beg for it. Deadlines were unclear, things were poorly explained, and I was often left feeling confused and stressed because no one seemed to care enough to do their job properly. Instead of being supported and guided, I felt ignored and brushed aside. Buying a home is supposed to be handled with professionalism, respect, and care. Unfortunately, that was entirely missing here. The stress, anxiety, and frustration I went through could have been avoided if Ashley and Jan Foster Estate Agents had shown even a basic level of courtesy and competence. I would strongly advise anyone considering using Jan Foster Estate Agents to think twice. Based on my experience, they lack professionalism, respect for clients, and proper communication. I would never use this company again and would not recommend them to anyone. This experience left a lasting negative impression and completely took the joy out of buying my home.

19th Feb 2026 (16 weeks ago)They offered advice on valuation that matched our expectations, they put it on the market at the value we wanted. We had viewings constantly whilst it was on the market. They advised us to keep taking viewings after offer accepted until we were sale agreed. This resulted in a higher bid, so it was worth it. Only negative was the amount of Photoshop used in photos.

I was extremely happy with Clare who throughout the process was always efficient ,friendly,supportive and conscientious .She replied to and resolved any queries promptly.The communication about viewings was very good and we were reminded about viewings the day before. I was very disappointed by the Sales Progressor who was difficult to speak to ,worked short hours and failed to contact us promptly causing difficulty and additional stress.

On every occasion, we have found the team to be highly professional, proactive, helpful, and informative. They were especially courteous in answering our many questions during the more tedious and stressful stages of moving house. I cant recommend enough.

22nd May 2026 (22 days ago)Rented a 2 bed lovely flat. There were two burnt marks on the living room carpet before I moved in. The lovely lady that showed me and my daughter pointed out the marks to us and I replied it's fine as I really loved the flat. The lady I handed the keys back to the flat yesterday and is the same lady who went round the flat with me before I moved in. Made a note of the burnt marks yet yesterday accused me of burning the carpet with wax. I am not happy been accused of something the last tenant did. Also I was promised an inventory of the flat as at the time they only had one. Was promised it would be dropped back off at the flat I never received it.

Carla is extremely good at her job, with advice and negotiation. I would recommend Hegarties at Houghton.
