We moved into our rented house, paid deposit and advanced rent. As soon as we moved in the boiler broke down. We have been over 5 days without heat and hot water. The plumber who they sent advised us that extensive works should have been done to the boiler prior to us moving in .Jasper and Emma at Redhill Connells mannerisms towards us has been one of "We'll get it repaired when we can" The landlord offered compensation not enough to cover even the cheapest of hotels , when we argued this point and mentioned litigation proceedings, Emma came back with a threatening email that we accept the offer before end of day Friday or it's off the table. We are now on Sunday still with no heating or hot water. We have contacted the council Environmental health department about this so they are aware of our situation.
We are a full time working couple. I urge any one reading this to think carefully before using Connells, their nonchalant, threatening tactics are so completely unacceptable ,when they have tenants who have been without hot water and heating for over 6 consecutive days. Please take our ongoing experience and use another firm of estate agents who care about the health of tenants living in properties that they manage.
