22nd Apr 2026 (22 weeks ago)Farndells have been brilliant. John Farndell is very direct and honest, which really works for me—though it might not suit everyone. That said, having a realistic and straightforward view is far more helpful in the long run. You may not always like what he says, but it’s factual and truthful. You can choose to ignore the advice, but if you genuinely want to sell, it’s worth listening and taking it on board. I’d definitely recommend using them.

However, Stuart and Emma were exceptionally helpful and nothing was a problem - exactly the kind of “can do” attitude that is becoming increasingly rare these days. Thanks are thus due to the pair for dealing with what has not been a straightforward sale.

1st Sep 2026 (24 days ago)I generally prefer to give companies the benefit of the doubt and avoid leaving negative reviews, but our experience as buyers with Palmer Snell has been genuinely appalling.<br>?The level of communication from the sales team is beyond poor. Emails sent to Anthony repeatedly go unanswered, and getting through on the phone is a constant struggle. On one occasion, I spoke with Magda and gave her details regarding our purchase, but no action was ever taken. To make matters worse, Anthony scheduled a second viewing for my husband, forgot about it entirely, and left the seller to conduct the viewing herself.<br>?Due to the total lack of transparency and responsiveness from Palmer Snell, we were forced to contact the vendor directly. Unsurprisingly, she is just as dissatisfied with their service as we are.<br>?I must highlight the abysmal service from Anthony, the office manager. We found him to be arrogant, rude, argumentative, and overly dismissive when discussing structural and building queries. The experience has been so stressful that I can no longer bring myself to speak to the office, leaving my husband to handle all communication. If this transaction falls through, it will be entirely down to the agent’s incompetence.<br>?While there seem to be positive reviews for their lettings department, the sales team is a completely different story. Their lack of honesty, professionalism, and basic customer care is deeply frustrating. Whether you are buying or looking to instruct an agent to sell your home, I strongly advise avoiding Palmer Snell. In the future, any property listed with them will be an immediate red flag for us.

Communication was exceptional; he always kept us updated, promptly returned our calls, and answered our questions. Buying a house can be incredibly stressful, but Glyn-Jones made the whole process feel smooth and manageable. They went above and beyond by keeping the chain moving smoothly. If you are looking for an estate agent who is honest, reliable, and genuinely cares about their clients, look no further. Thank you so much for helping me get into my new home!

Their communication was consistently good and they kept us updated regarding viewings, feedback and progress. Always keen to help with the property as we weren't local. The transaction was not without its difficulties, particularly due to delays and challenges involving the seller’s solicitors, but John Lake remained professional, proactive and supportive from start to finish. A particular mention must go to Paul, whose communication was excellent. His information was consistently accurate, clear and straight to the point, which gave us confidence at some fairly frustrating stages of the process. His efforts undoubtedly helped keep the chain together and ultimately ensured that the purchase got over the line. We are very grateful for the support we received and would have no hesitation in recommending John Lake to anyone buying or selling property in the Torquay area. Excellent service from a team who genuinely worked hard to get the job done.

Rob and Jack really knew their stuff and were incredibly responsive and proactive throughout the whole process. They sold my house in the first round of viewings, which was a fantastic result, and their excellent communication from start to finish really helped make the conveyancing process a little less painful!<br><br>What really stood out to me was how honest, transparent and straightforward they were. I always felt they had my best interests in mind and I could trust their advice.<br><br>I’d highly recommend them and would happily use them again.

She provided timely feedback throughout the process, and I wouldn't hesitate to contact her again should the need arise in the future.
