Always professional, approachable and provided a first class service. It made the house sale process very easy and stress free. A big THANK YOU for all your help and support - Nick you were amazing always there to answer my questions and give independent advice when it was needed. I felt your attention to detail was fantastic. Conner and Rhianna were always friendly at the end of the phone when I needed to ask questions along the way. I only met Conner in person when I handed the keys in prior to the exchange. But was taken aback when he remembered a small detail about the house - that showed he cared and had a good attention for detail. It was a long process from our first meeting and completion; due to a delay in Probate being granted - but I can honestly say I felt you guys were always there to support me and keep me up to date with relevant developments. I defiantly chose the right team to sale my house and would recommend you in future.
23rd Jul 2025 (10 mo. ago)Philip May's genuine enthusiasm for the property we were selling, and his ability to sell Hodsons' services sold Hodsons to me as the estate agent to choose to sell a family home. The subsequent progress has been excellent, with a well-qualified buyer lined up within weeks. The only criticism I have is that a 'For Sale' sign was erected in the garden of the property which was unoccupied, and I had specifically asked for no sign.

1st Jun 2026 (13 days ago)We recently viewed a property in Southmoor which we really loved, fully aware it required a significant amount of work. We initially offered £378,000, and Graham contacted us to push £380,000, suggesting we increase our offer to secure the property. Reluctantly, we agreed as we didn’t want to lose it. Given the age of the property (1960s), we arranged a survey, which highlighted several issues. As a result, we submitted a revised offer to reflect the additional work required. Around the same time, we revisited the property and noticed that three fence panels were down, including one on our side. When I raised this with Graham, his response was dismissive, describing it as “only cosmetic,” which felt inappropriate given the rising cost of materials and repairs. Throughout the process, Graham’s attitude came across as dismissive and, at times, rude. Communication lacked professionalism, and we often felt our concerns were being minimised. We later received an email stating that the beneficiary’s husband, who is apparently a builder of 45 years, had dismissed the issues raised in the survey. This response felt unconstructive and contradictory, particularly as relatively minor issues like the fencing had not been addressed. Overall, the process raised multiple red flags, both in terms of communication and transparency. Unfortunately, our experience has been negative, and we would not feel confident dealing with this estate agent again and I would recommend other people to be aware of them.

Even when Paul was understandable distracted with unforeseen family matters, he remained in communication and showed great commitment and returned calls to make the entire process straightforward. He suggested I contacted James Merrifield at there Oxford branch to discuss my options. I felt very confident with the advise he gave me on the sale process so I instructed him to proceed. like all good sales things did not go as planed, but James was with me 100% of the way sorting all the obstacles to achieve the sale. A big thank you for your help James and the professional service you provided. I would highly recommend Thomas Merrifield.

6th May 2026 (6 weeks ago)The Rental Team especially Malcolm Goes are the most professional team of letting / property management people that I have come across. I used to be in this industry many years ago and know what it takes to provide a full service and to have happy tenants and landlords alike. Everything was well explained and nothing was too much trouble for Malcolm or the rest of the team. Malcolm has excellent local knowledge and was even able to offer us advise on village activities including the up coming beer festival at the village hall.

5th Nov 2025 (7 mo. ago)Agents under valued our property- we ended up going elsewhere and managed to get 80K more than this agency wanted to put it onto the market for. To me, the agent didnt really seem to know what they were talking about. Owner seems more interested in opening new shops then helping with current clients and wasnt very attentive whilst showing him around. Would not recommend unfortunately.

29th Oct 2025 (7 mo. ago)they lied and charged us for all the marketing material then never used it. we got ZERO enquirers or viewings for over 4 months- then found the online information was WRONG. stating the home is a decade older (i bought it NEW) and worth over £1 million LESS. they refuted to change it, then after we terminated the contract they refuse to rerun the photos we paid for. we spent thousands of pounds and hundreds of hours prepping the house for photos, and paid over £2,000 in total for them.
29th Apr 2026 (7 weeks ago)?In my opinion, the Abingdon office's lack of communication shows disrespect for someone else’s time and is simply unacceptable. After requesting more details about the property, I received an email and a voicemail requesting that I call back asap, as I was informed that their ''properties are letting very quickly''. I returned the call within 5min and was advised that Gary would call me back because he was busy at that moment. I have been attempting to arrange a viewing for a week now; however, my call has not been returned and my follow-up emails have gone unanswered. Silence is not an acceptable standard of customer service — particularly after collecting personal information. I have now requested that they erase all of my personal information from their records as it appears my data was collected without any intention of providing the requested service.
