We felt respected and well cared for throughout the entire process. Richard is very gentlemanly and works with integrity. Unlike other estate agents, there was absolutely no shady business, price hiking, or pressure from him. He was always quick to respond to our emails, kept us in the loop, and was honest and efficient. His professionalism and experience really stood out in an industry where these qualities are often lacking. Richard has a talent for closing deals and he has excellent knowledge about his job. 15th Feb 2022 (2 years ago)Very bad experience: They could not provide me a single suggestion in almost one month despite the fact that I was ready to pay up to £1250. Although, they put me under great stress and made me believe that I can’t get any house below £1200 and can’t get less than 2 bedroom for family with a baby. It is because of them I did not search for less than 2 bedroom property for a long, assuming I can’t get that, which was incorrect. Every time, I called them they said it is not in their area and they will send my details to other office. Once, I spent around 4-5 hours to fill a form to apply for a property whose result they never shared with me. I expressed my interest to view many properties but mostly I did not get a response because they already had many applications for that property. Feedback for the agent to improve: 1.First, be transparent and responsive to the customers. If there are many applications for some property then convey that to the customers instead of keeping quite. Reply each email/call. 2.You have multiple offices in Oxford and you have advantage so use that to help the customers and not for torturing them. There is no communication (at least customer oriented) between your different branches. Your people just pass responsibility to other branches. For example, I called several times to show interest in some property then I was told that that property is not in their area. First, they should help the customers instead of passing on the things. Secondly, give the customer options available with you (customer might get interested in property available with you) instead of getting rid of them.

26th May 2024 (9 weeks ago)Well what can I say had all the BS when took on selling our house, up for over 3 months, was in a 3 month contract via Bewley Homes 2/3 viewings in the 3 months, I emailed them at end of contract to take it off the market…no reply back, then another 3 weeks on I get a call about a viewing told them straight away I had emailed them re taking house off the market, but said yes ok for a viewing….then I get a call on the day viewing cancelled. They have since took it off the market. But overall 3/4 viewings in total, not very good- 11th Jul 2024 (16 days ago)The estate agent did a great job in finding a place for us twice now. The first time we lived in a landlord-managed place, our new place is managed by Chancellors. After moving in, the Chancellors property managers are failing to address defects in the house in a timely manner. We've notified them of defects over 4 months ago, quotation were booked in the week after. After that they haven't given any clarity on whether or not they are going to act on the quotations and they reply to e-mails in an evading manner.

10th Jul 2024 (17 days ago)We have been pleased with Chamberlain Evans and would definitely recommend them - it seems much less stressful to use a local more personal independent firm.They quickly found us a good buyer, showed people round and were helpful, readily available and knew the market.They also liasoned with other professionals involved and recommended a good solicitor.
14th May 2024 (11 weeks ago)I am a currently renting through Thomas Merrifield and have been blown away by the service the team have provided to us, which most letting agents don't even scratch the service of. They have effiecent systems for logging issues, and they have always been swift, courteous and fully considerate of the Tennant. I thought I'd leave a (unrequested!) Google review just to help recognise them, especially this branch. Thank you for being outstanding=)- 6th Feb 2024 (25 weeks ago)We received outstanding service from all the team at Thomas Merrifield, from placing the house on the market to completion. Marketing was excellent and the house sold very quickly. Nothing was too much trouble for them, especially Charlie who regularly kept in touch with updates as the sale proceeded. Charlie was 'our rock' throughout; nothing was too much trouble for him, reassuring and supporting us at every stage. We would highly recommend the team and give 10 stars (if it were possible!)

She instructed a professional photographer to take photos of my home and the results were outstanding. The whole process was smooth from start to finish. Jess and Corinne were a delight to deal with and dealt with all queries from me efficiently. She supported me through the whole process. My house sold in just over 8 weeks as it was the height of summer. I received under the asking price but I was very happy with the final sale price. I went with Truemans solicitor and because they were referred to me by Amelie’s. They are excellent and very competitively priced. On the day I said my final goodbye to my home, Jess turned up with a beautiful bag of goodies from bubbly to chocolate which was a lovely touch. I highly recommend Amelie’s for your next house sale.

4th Jul 2024 (23 days ago)We decided going through sales with Galaxy because the way that they sold this to us, that would be easy and quick. But in the end, after more than 2 months, we did not have a single visit and no updates or communication from them as well. I would not choose them again or recommend it.- 4th Jul 2024 (23 days ago)Terrible company, save yourself some regret down the line and avoid them. I have friends who rent through Chancellors and have had to go months with broken boilers and washing machines. My partner and I were on the verge of renting with Chancellors, and boy am I glad we got out while we could. They (in particular, Katie) repeatedly lied to us and gave conflicting information about how certain aspects of our contract would work. They use a pretty shady zero deposit scheme which involves end-of-tenancy dispute resolution through a private company instead of a certified independent body. They also repeatedly tried to pressure us into signing the contract while we still had concerns about all of this. They took an illegal fee of over £400 from us, which I only got back by threatening to take them to the ombudsman – they *knew* they were in the wrong, but will try anything just to see what sticks. Chancellors' whole business model involves expoiting tenants who can't find better, doing less than the bare minimum in order to maintain their margins and keep their landlords happy. I'm sure they'll reply to this with something that makes them sound less bad than they actually are – don't believe it. *** EDIT 4/7/24: after posting the response below, Chancellors also got in touch with me directly by phone, making no further attempts to make the situation right, but asking me to "consider removing or updating my review". Makes you wonder how many other negative reviews they've managed to get removed from here...

13th Jun 2023 (1 year ago)Hathaways took over management of our Oxford property in April this year, and so far have been a breath of fresh air - it's great to be working again with a family concern, and to feel that they care about us and our tenants. The only issue we had was that some documents were rather unclear, but they responded promptly to my feedback and updated the docs to fix this. Service has been friendly and efficient.
