Why would anyone permit them to hold someones deposit?!!!<br>............................<br>Avoid, go anywhere else but here.<br><br>2. Update July 26.....<br>Then to confirm the lack of professional standards employed, they unilaterally cease control of the Tenants Security Deposit & refuse to hand it back without cause. What an outfit. Incompetent, deceitful, money grabbing sharks.<br><br>1. What an unpleasant experience dealing with these people. Started well enough when they were selling something but rapidly fell apart when had to perform.<br>Local staff blindly followed the single company line making a mockery of their "bespoke service to landlords", then exceeded their brief & authority & finally overcharged.<br><br>Clearly a ridged centrally controlled business unable to trust local staff who were found to be lacking in understanding, experiance & customer awareness.

3rd Aug 2026 (8 days ago)I’ve been renting for over a decade and never been so dehumanised. These guys (especially Jason Byrne) will ignore you at every opportunity. Our ‘home’ smelt like sewage from day 1 and still has not been replaced solved, after having not 1, not 2, but 3 independent inspectors come over they’ve class this property as unfit to live in.<br><br>After all the distress and suffering we’ve experienced chancellors was kind enough to award us less than 1/16 of our money back for renting what the council deemed uninhabitable.<br><br>We will see them in court but in the meantime please avoid this disgustingly run company at all costs. Please reach out for specifics about what they’ve done & individuals involved that still work at this branch. Chances are they will try to continue to rent this environmental hazard, so please reach out to find out exactly which property we rented.<br><br>Stay safe out there and don’t give your hard earned money to criminals.

13th Jul 2026 (29 days ago)My partner and I had decided to put our house on the market, potentially moving to a bigger house. Doing our due diligence, we made a decision to get four different Real Estate Agencies to visit, so we could also gauge the professionalism and expertise of various agents.<br><br>Somebody had suggested that we should also give Jessica, the owner of this company, to evaluate our home too. Three different real estate agencies sent their reps to evaluate our home, give us their terms, and provide us with written documents of what they were able to do for us. We gave Jessica the same opportunity. When Jessica arrived, we noticed that even prior to looking at our house, she had written down a figure representing the value of our home! My partner and I were surprised that how could she evaluate our home even prior to looking at it! Anyway, Jessica was very friendly and presentable, talked to us about her services and what she was willing to do for us. This is exactly the same as other agents had done, except, the other agents provided us with a figure value after examining the house, and seeing all the improvements that we had made to our home.<br><br>As we had done with the other agents, we asked Jessica to email us with all the information that she had verbally presented. Jessica agreed to do so. However, Jessica was the only real estate agent, amongst the four, that never followed up with any information upon her departure!<br><br>We were quite disappointed with the fact that, how could someone, who considered themselves as an experienced agent, simply evaluate a house based on what other houses in the area had sold! We believe that Jessica came up with that conclusion solely based on the square footage of the house, regardless of all the improvements and modernization that had been made to the house!! Similarly, not providing us with a follow up, as she had promised, was a major disappointment.<br><br>I am glad that we decided not to employ Amilies state agents. Apart from Jessica‘s polite mannerism, I could not recommend this agency.

17th Jul 2026 (25 days ago)I had a very disappointing experience. Even though I informed them in advance that we would be delayed due to traffic, they assured us that it was fine. However, the person conducting the viewing left without waiting for us. When I called to explain, he even said he had seen the two of us rushing towards the property, yet he still chose not to wait. Overall, it was a very frustrating and unprofessional experience.

10th Jul 2026 (5 weeks ago)Nicky and her team at Summertown have worked tirelessly and enthusiastically over the past year to get our 4th prospective buyer over the line. It has been a challenging task but the team never let go of the job and eventually it paid off. Also Nicky arranged a private sale of a cottage in the Village that will suit our needs very well. Our thanks to Nicky and her team for a job well done.

He is knowledgeable about the local area and the property market, and it is clear that he knows what he is doing. He listens to your concerns and always does his best to find the right solution.<br>John was great in communication and kept me informed every step of the way. He even answered my call while he was on sick leave. He liaised effectively with both solicitors and the buyer, and I always felt that my sale was in the right hands and that he was on top of everything.<br>Everyone had told me to expect a long and stressful process, but with John by my side, it was smooth, straightforward, and much quicker than I expected. I am extremely pleased with his service and would not hesitate to recommend him.- 30th Jul 2026 (12 days ago)I would strongly advise others to think very carefully before renting through this agency, based on my experience.<br>When we offered the full asking price for the property, the agent told us there was another interested party and asked whether we wanted to increase our offer. Under pressure to secure somewhere to live, we raised our offer by £100. We were then told the supposed other party had increased their offer again. When we refused to go any higher, the other interest suddenly disappeared. The whole process left us feeling uncomfortable and questioning how the situation had been handled.<br><br>On moving in, the property was in far worse condition than expected. It was dirty, several pieces of furniture were broken or unusable, and we even found rubbish behind one of the beds. Some essential items—like oven racks and the dishwasher—were missing or not working. It took around six months before certain issues were acknowledged at all. Discovering that the carbon monoxide alarm did not function was particularly alarming and made us feel that tenant safety was not being prioritised.<br><br>The moving-out process was equally frustrating. Despite repeatedly asking about our deposit, we were told the landlord was “not available,” which stalled the process until we escalated it through the deposit protection scheme. During that process, we received claims from the landlord that we strongly disagreed with, including allegations about furniture disposal when, from our perspective, the item had only been moved between rooms. The total amount claimed was significantly higher than the deposit itself, which we found extremely unreasonable. Also the agency has been very unhelpful in regards of getting into contact with the landlord, eventhough he is an employee of the agency.<br><br>Based on all of this, our experience with this agency was overwhelmingly negative, and I personally would not rent through them again

13th Jun 2023 (3 years ago)Hathaways took over management of our Oxford property in April this year, and so far have been a breath of fresh air - it's great to be working again with a family concern, and to feel that they care about us and our tenants. The only issue we had was that some documents were rather unclear, but they responded promptly to my feedback and updated the docs to fix this. Service has been friendly and efficient.

I especially found it helpful to have the nominated person (Kelly) in charge of Sales Progression - it kept the sale process going, as there was always someone there to ask questions and she ensured the sale chain stayed in place.
