After rent ends, they had a list of the different reasons for us to pay and after eight months and several time of reminders, we still didn’t receive the rest of the deposit. In a word, if you choose them, prepare to give away all your deposit. ??????????????????????????????????????

Throughout the (quick!) process the team at Chamberlain Evans supported us, ensuring we were kept up to date including on evenings and weekends and managed our expectations well. They also helped us understand each step and what to expect next, and we felt entirely in control, whilst at the same time having a safe pair of hands and a good deal of knowledge about Oxford to fall back on. We would recommend Chamberlain Evans!

We had a rollercoaster of offers, problematic surveys and collapsing chains and we never would have got through it without the support of Jessica and the entire Amelies team. They are so kind, caring, genuine and truly helpful. In the end we sold and found our dream house and we owe that all to them. Thank you so much!
20th Dec 2023 (18 weeks ago)We purchased a house through Beals Estate agents, our journey started early November. We met Emily at the property, she was professional and offered really great tips, on the potential of the property etc. She was straight to the point on what the seller wanted, which put us in the best position. She rang the day after the viewing and we put our offer on the property! Emily was our go to, she was thorough and constantly requesting updates from us, the seller and the lawyers. The whole process will be done by early Jan, I want to say Emily being on the ball has really ensured for us to get through the interim period quicker than prev estate agents we have dealt with. Emily has been a pleasure to deal with, always has a smile, friendly and great communication! I couldn’t have had, a more positive experience and she is a credit to Beals. Thank you!

They set a fair price which was rightly priced for the market and then provided good marketing, online and in the window. They communicated often and gave feedback on each viewing. I transacted after 2 months and was very happy. Great team and best in Summertown.

15th Apr 2024 (11 days ago)AVOID. Would give them a 0 if I could. Horrendous estate agents that will hook you in with paying a no deposit option, being told I’d not even be considered to rent the property unless I paid this way even though I offered them 7 weeks of rent upfront as a deposit. They attempted to sting me with a hefty bill for cleaning (which was eventually deemed too high) / unreturned items which were returned. I managed to win the majority of my money back by paying for an adjudicator to look at the case. They then tried to lie their way out of refunding the fee which I paid for this adjudication to go ahead by stating it was non refundable which was not what my tenancy stated. They got a debt collection company to try and collect the incorrect amount owed off me which I spent months fighting to finally win my share back. Also tried to contact them several times for certain issues during my contract and heard nothing back. Called one evening to let them know I had a ceiling leak coming through the electrics in the roof and never heard back nor sent anyone to fix it before closing for the day and never getting back to me. No care for your safety. If you’re a tenant, from my own experience, I’d heavily avoid this agency. I’ve read many reviews from other tenants stating similar experiences. A totally stressful experience which I’ve never experienced with any other letting agency. Avoid at all costs.

We were told that a decision on our offer would be made by the end of the week, and indeed it was accepted by then. Jeremy was really very good: helpful, honest, reassuring, knowledgeable and went the extra mile to be of assistance.

13th Jun 2023 (10 mo. ago)Hathaways took over management of our Oxford property in April this year, and so far have been a breath of fresh air - it's great to be working again with a family concern, and to feel that they care about us and our tenants. The only issue we had was that some documents were rather unclear, but they responded promptly to my feedback and updated the docs to fix this. Service has been friendly and efficient.
