23rd Aug 2024 (6 weeks ago)I've been letting a property since September 14th, 2023. My lease is due to expire on September 13th, 2024. I have been trying to get a response as to whether my lease can be continued. I contacted the lettings team on July 15th which lead to a request for further information which was provided on July 17th. July 29th, still no response to contacted the office only to be advised the person dealing with it was on AL until August 1st but someone would make the agent aware and to contact me. August 15th I still had no response to emailed yet again. We are now on August 23rd and still nobody has had the courtesy to email me back with an update. Frustrating but typical attitude of the attitude of the branch for the last 12 months.

4th Sep 2024 (4 weeks ago)They advertised a house on Barkby Road in Wincobank, which had a defective title due to a missing leasehold title. I then found out the seller had divided the land at the side and rear as they lived on the adjoining road (which the seller kindly never informed me). Haybrook Chapeltown then had the audacity to call me when they relisted the property apparently after the seller sorted the title issue (I bought my house at this point). Looking on Rightmove seems like some poor soul has agreed to purchase this property as it's now showing as sold STC hopefully their solicitors carry out due diligence. £1,100 spent on a survey and solicitor fees but a bullet dodged gladly nonetheless.

18th Mar 2024 (6 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

13th Jul 2024 (12 weeks ago)No idea how this estate agent sells houses or if they only earmark properties they post for specific clients/buyers already known to the business. Very oddly run, you phone up and are put through to an admin team of sorts, never an agent. They will take your details and say they will pass it onto the agent who will allegedly phone you themselves, they won’t give you the agents details either so you have to just wait for this call. It’s been just over a week of me trying to view a particular property, phoned in multiple times to no avail. - Update, if you find out who the agent dealing with the property is, you can try find their contact details on the actual website, the lady I dealt with was actually sound & treated me the way I’d expect to be, like 90% of other estate agent companies would’ve.

1st Aug 2024 (9 weeks ago)Highly recommend the team at JPM. Rosie and Sophie have been fantastic at every step of buying my house. They have been flexible around viewings and helped me to secure a mortgage through their recommended broker. They have kept me up to date, chasing solicitors on both sides whilst being professional, friendly, and refreshingly honest throughout. After having a pretty dire experience with another estate agents I was so relieved to find JPM. They honestly took so much stress out of buying a house. 100% would use them again and highly recommend the team. Thank you JPM.
5th Jul 2024 (13 weeks ago)BE VERY CAREFUL!!! Once these lot have your deposit they ignore you. We agreed to buy a buy to let from these and went through the mortgage application with our own agent. We then found out they had overvalued thr property by a fair amount, not allowing us to get a mortgage. We were then told we had to use their mortgage person, which cost us another £300 but we had no option. They also could not get us a mortgage because the value was less than 50k. Upon telling these lot, they are now ignoring our calls, you can't speak to the refund team as only on email, no managers have phones and they won't give us our deposit back even though it states we are entitled to it back for following their stipulations. I'm no being ignored by the salesman Jack and no one will return emails etc. I will be taking this to the Ombudsman too, to highlight this appalling service and blatant overvalued to gain mortgage applicants. They had the same listing on their site for £52,500 and £46,000. We found this after we had agreed a price. So be very careful not to deal with these people. They are rude and have total lack of customer service once they have your deposit. Zero stars from me!!!
