Charging a whopping £528 claiming there were marks and scuffs to the wall when I moved out only for an independent adjudicator to prove that only £40 would suffice to repair the said marks and scuffs. Level of extortion!!
9th Sep 2026 (18 days ago)1 star — Avoid if you want a letting agent that communicates and takes responsibility<br><br>Don’t leave a review until you have experienced their services as a tenant!<br><br>My experience with this letting agent has been exceptionally poor, and I would not recommend them.<br><br>The biggest issue has been the way problems are handled once something goes wrong. In my experience, communication has been unreliable, commitments have not been followed through, and I have repeatedly been left having to chase matters that should have been dealt with by the agent.<br><br>My dealings with Daniel White have been particularly disappointing. Meetings have been arranged and then not attended. I have been given assurances that were not followed through, and I have had to challenge information that I believe was inaccurate. The result is that I have had very little confidence in anything I have been told.<br><br>The agent has also handled harassment I have experienced within the building poorly. I have raised concerns about the behaviour I have been subjected to, but I have not felt that these concerns were taken seriously or dealt with appropriately. Rather than receiving clear communication, meaningful support or evidence of proactive action, I have been left feeling isolated and responsible for repeatedly chasing the matter myself.<br><br>A letting agent should take complaints about harassment seriously, respond promptly, keep tenants informed and take reasonable steps to address concerns—particularly where the behaviour affects a tenant’s safety, wellbeing or ability to live peacefully in their home. In my experience, that standard has not been met.<br><br>Most concerning has been the handling of essential maintenance. My boiler has been known to have serious problems for months. Their engineer has attended on multiple occasions attempting to fit parts, despite indicating that the boiler is too old to be realistically repaired. I have now been left without hot water for an extended period, yet the agent has still failed to take appropriate action.<br><br>This is not a minor inconvenience. Hot water is a basic necessity, and a letting agent should take an urgent and proactive approach when an essential service fails. Instead, I have experienced delays, excuses, missed meetings and repeated chasing.<br><br>What has been most frustrating is that I have made every effort to deal with these issues reasonably and through the proper channels. Unfortunately, the impression left is that problems are simply allowed to drag on until the tenant becomes exhausted from pursuing them.<br><br>A letting agent should provide professionalism, honesty, communication and accountability. Sadly, I have experienced very little of any of these.<br><br>If you are considering renting a property through this agent, I would strongly suggest you look very carefully at how they deal with existing tenants before committing yourself. Getting the keys is one thing; getting problems resolved afterwards is another.<br><br>Based entirely on my own experience, I would not use this letting agent again and I would not recommend them to prospective tenants.
16th Sep 2026 (11 days ago)I had a really positive experience dealing with Haus Headingley/Leeds, particularly Jess. She was helpful, understanding and professional throughout the whole process, and communication was always straightforward. Although I ultimately decided not to proceed with the property due to my own circumstances, that had nothing to do with the service I received. Jess was very accommodating and made the process much easier for me. I would definitely be happy to contact Haus again in the future when looking for a property. Thank you again, Jess, for all your help.
8th Dec 2024 (1 year ago)We had a mixed experience with Preston Baker. We chose them for their reviews online and at first contact with the Doncaster office they were quick to reply and tried moving our sale along promptly. Then our agent suddenly stopped communicating and when we tried contacting them we found out she had left but no one informed us. This happened a couple of times. Our house was eventually assigned to Terry Burrows (Leeds office) and she was good to us. She took care of our sale for almost a year until the end, even after two potential buyers dropped off and issues with the house made our sale more complicated. Sadly by then the market had changed and we weren’t able to sell for the value we had hoped for. Not sure if I would recommend the Doncaster office. I would recommend Terry for sure. (Terry, if you are reading this thank you for persevering with us and for helping us get a decent price in a difficult selling process)

From our first meeting, Katie was professional, positive, honest and incredibly knowledgeable. Her valuation was backed by detailed market research and a really clear rationale and she got it absolutely spot-on. Our house attracted huge interest immediately and sold at asking price within just four days.<br><br>Katie kept us informed throughout, from photography and marketing to viewing feedback, offers and the performance of our listing across Rightmove and OnTheMarket. Everything was transparent and clearly explained.<br><br>Selling while returning to work after adoption leave could have been overwhelming, but Katie was a constant, reassuring presence: responsive, encouraging and completely committed. By the end, she felt like a genuine cheerleader in our corner. The wider team were equally well-informed, which says a lot about Blundells’ culture.<br><br>Katie is an exceptional agent with a very bright future ahead of her. We would recommend her without hesitation to anyone selling their home.

Akos was outstanding throughout the process—his efficiency, professionalism, and consistently positive attitude made everything run smoothly and took a huge amount of stress out of what can often be a complicated journey. Over the several months it took to complete the purchase, the rest of the team were equally brilliant; Imogen, Debra, and everyone else involved were always helpful, approachable, and quick to respond, making the whole process feel straightforward and well-supported at every stage. Their collective expertise and genuine commitment to getting the best outcome really shone through and made a big difference. I would wholeheartedly recommend Blundells Chapeltown—and especially Akos, Imogen, Debra, and the wider team—to anyone looking to buy or sell a home; they truly go above and beyond.

Outstanding support when things got difficult I first contacted Reeds Rains – previously at 16-18 Moorgate Street, now at Wickersley Rotherham in March 2024 to help me find a flat. From the start, I was told the landlord would manage the property. I thought it would make no difference whether it was managed by the agent or landlord, but it turned out to be a terrible experience all through my stay of over two years. What impressed me most was that the team stood by me from beginning to end, even when issues arose over my deposit. They guided me step-by-step and helped me successfully recover my full deposit plus overpaid rent — something I could not have done without their support. A special mention for Abby — even though she is no longer with the company, her hard work, resilience and dedication were truly noticed and appreciated. I also want to say the Accounts Department was absolutely amazing — efficient, helpful and always there when I needed them. Thank you to every member of the team. I couldn't remember names, the branch manager and other staff members was brilliant. You turned a very stressful situation around and showed real care for your tenants. I highly recommend this office.

All photographs were representative of our actual property, not funny angles just as it is. One viewer commented that ours was the only property she had see that actually looked like the photographs. From the very beginning, they were so helpful and supportive throughout our house search.<br><br>A special thank you to Fynn, who went above and beyond for us. He always tried his best to fit us in for viewings, regularly called to see how we were getting on and whether we had found anywhere, and would always send us properties that matched exactly what we were looking for.<br><br>We have now found our house, unfortunately not through Haybrook, but we still wanted to take the time to say a huge thank you for everything they did for us throughout our search. The communication, effort and personal touch made such a difference.<br><br>Thank you again to the whole team, and especially Fynn, for all your help. 6th Sep 2026 (21 days ago)Avoid this company they made buying our first home an awful experience. I’d especially advise you to avoid Susie Ralston and Paul Howell. Told me the role as an estate agent is to list and sell a property and any chasing of a chain is simply a good will gesture and falls outside of the estate agent’s ethics.<br>They had the audacity to advise thier contact log showed 32 contact points since April. Yes 32 times I had to chase and ask for updates to which I was met with nothing meaningful and to contact my solicitor. They also had the cheek to say I knew the vendors daughter in law so I had updates from them - shouldn’t have to justify I know sometime from a school run not personally as a friend.<br>Ignored my complaint request for compensation.<br>Property onbudsman is my next step.

Redroots works well with its solicitor partners, HSR Law, resulting in a seamlessly streamlined and integrated process. Despite unexpected Land Registry complications which threatened to impede progress, our personal Redroots Sales Agent gave us excellent counsel and guidance throughout. I would highly recommend Redroots for a smooth, reassuring and efficient sales experience.

From the very beginning, he has been incredibly efficient, professional and genuinely helpful throughout my purchase journey so far.<br><br>Jake submitted my very first offer on what will be my dream home, and he has gone above and beyond at every stage since. He even delayed his lunch break so I could get to the office with my paperwork, then helped with all the technical side of uploading the documents so everything could be processed quickly.<br><br>Communication has been outstanding. Jake has kept me fully informed about my vendor's house search and the progress of the rest of the chain, so I've always known where things stood. He also instructed my solicitors on my behalf, making the whole process much smoother and taking a lot of the stress away.<br><br>Whenever I've called or emailed, Jake has always responded promptly.<br><br>If you're buying or selling a property, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jake and the team at Mallinson & Co. A first-class service from start to hopefully the end of my purchase of my dream home - 10/10!

It was a stressful time as it can be but they helped even on sundays and late at night. Sophie set a WhatsApp group up to keep in touch with us so we felt we could communicate via phone text and email. All in the office were really helpful too

24th Sep 2026 (3 days ago)We would definitely recommend you use Hughes Family Estate Agents. Danielle was our agent and was fantastic. She is an asset to the company and the sale of our home would not have gone through without her going above and beyond to ensure that it did. Her communication skills were exemplary and she was always keeping us updated about the progress of the sale. From all our previous experiences of using estate agents, she has stood out as one of the best. Thank you. We would not however recommend the conveyancing company that was recommended by yourselves as the sale almost fell through because of there incompetence.
