30th Jan 2026 (14 weeks ago)As a first-time buyer, I trusted this estate agency to provide accurate and reliable information when viewing and proceeding with a property purchase. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. When I was shown the property, I was told three key points that significantly influenced my decision to proceed: • That the flat had an allocated parking space • That the leasehold was 999 years • That residents contributed to a joint building insurance policy After several months of progressing the purchase and paying substantial solicitor fees, it became apparent that all three of these statements were incorrect. There was no allocated parking for the flat, the lease was under 150 years rather than 999, and there was no existing joint building insurance policy. Each time I raised these issues with the estate agent, I was simply told that the information had been provided incorrectly by the seller and that they apologised. While mistakes can happen, these are material facts that should have been verified before being presented to a buyer, particularly as they directly affect a purchaser’s decision-making. The process was stressful, costly, and ultimately ruined my trust in the agency. Buying your first home should be an exciting experience, but being misled on multiple fundamental aspects of the property made it extremely disheartening. I would strongly advise future buyers to ensure all key details are confirmed in writing and verified early in the process.

22nd May 2025 (11 mo. ago)Chris and Jo from Fenn Wright are both very experienced and professional and certainly know their stuff. They are both very friendly and approachable and were on hand to guide as and when was necessary. I would use them again to sell my house.

19th Apr 2026 (17 days ago)I would give them no stars if I could. There was a long list of issues that arose after a few years of using them as a letting agent. They used to be a very reliable small business but it appeared that they became greedy and couldn't manage the amount of work that they had taken on. During one tenancy, they allowed the couple that were renting my flat to sublet to another couple. Both couples caused significant damage to the property and left it in a disgusting state which Property Book told me was something to be expected. They didn't undertake any inspections during the tenancy. They allowed the gas safety certificate to run out. They took 48 hours to inform me of a serious problem with the boiler leaking leaving the tenants without heating or hot water. They then refused to travel to the flat to allow the emergency call out into the flat because they were in the Mersea office and couldn't be bothered to drive to Colchester. They charged me for 'repairs' but couldn't explain what repairs they were or which company had done them. During another tenancy, they lied about the tenants that moved in as their details and the amount of people who were renting the flat were completely different to who I had agreed to. I didn't mind but I couldn't understand how they could tell me that a couple were moving in but then it was a family of 5 who did. They released the deposit back to one tenant without providing any of the evidence to the DPS. They refused to give me access to the DPS account despite being asked on multiple occasions. I had to go to the Property Ombudsman and they were surprised at the compensation that Property Book offered me. Lastly, Lee who dealt with the letting couldn't even spell my name right. I'm sure there's more I can't remember.

18th Apr 2026 (18 days ago)Unfortunately did not have a good experience. Poor communication. Experience on offer described when we signed up to them was not delivered. House was not sold but it was more the experience during this time that has led to this review.
1st Sep 2025 (8 mo. ago)I leave on 218 Harwich road 3 year ,was very old house, i let this house with Abbotts Property from Colchester, Manager from theare check with me this hoise before i leave and say everythig is the same how was before and hi does t see any reasson to take my money back from depozit, i leave i moving to Romania with my family and after 1 months this agency Aboots send my message i have to pay back 1600£ to change floor, toillet, garage door, etc so this landdor not coming any day in 3 year i spend my money to fix some things and now hi whany to clean and change floor with my money. So be aware with this agency!

17th Oct 2025 (6 mo. ago)I would highly recommend Elms Price and Co if you are looking to sell your home. This was a very emotional time for our family, having to deal with probate and sell our parents family home. Andrew, Dale and the team showed a tremendous amount of empathy and support. Their valuation was accurate, and there was never any pressure or hard sell. The whole process and support dealing with the solicitors and all the necessary paperwork was first class. If you are looking to buy or sell, I would have no hesitation in recommending Andrew and the team. First-class service all round.
