16th Jun 2026 (11 days ago)Our experience with Slater Hogg and Howison (Candleriggs branch) over our 2.5 years of tenancy has been disappointing at best and appalling at worst.<br><br>The first major incident we had; we woke up on a Saturday morning to no electricity and a tripped circuit.<br>To give credit where due, the property manager got someone out to switch off the water and prevent any further damage to the property. However, when we queried about an electrician coming round, we were informed this did not constitute an emergency and would therefore be without electricity until Monday at the earliest. This caused major disruption to our lives. The dismissive nature of the property manager left a sour taste. I understand no one wants to deal with a major incident on a half-day Saturday, however essentially telling us 'good luck, get back in touch on Monday' was an unsatisfactory stance to take when tenants are asking for support.<br><br>Following this incident, we appeared to be blamed for damage to the below property (caused by the leak) - despite the property owner above taking accountability for the incident.<br>Due to this, multiple rounds of workmen were arranged to the property. To accommodate this, I missed classes at university/ my partner missed work. On many occasions, no one showed up - asking for an update on the tradesmen from SHH resulted in being informed to call the company directly. I would phone the company and no one would then show up. There was no accountability - both companies would point fingers at each other. On one occasion, I was informed a tradesman would be out by SHH and the company advised no one was arranged to come out! When a workman did come out, he was unaware of the leak from upstairs! I understand SHH don't care about the inconvenience they caused; however this greatly affected our lives and caused a great deal of frustration and stress.<br><br>We received an alarming email from SHH, stating we were in arrears and owed money- with the threat of bailiffs. This was news to us as we had paid rent on time each month. We tried phoning, emailing; everything to get in touch and get the situation resolved, but no one seemed able to help. We eventually spoke with an agent who advised we were not in arrears and the system was incorrect due to an error made by an agent. This situation caused much stress and sleepless nights, and to not even get an apology for the error at the end of the process was unsatisfactory. At this point, we had lost all faith in Slater and Hogg and the competency of this agency.<br><br>The trend of poor communication continued throughout our tenancy. We were informed of a flat inspection however, by the afternoon no one had arrived. We phoned SHH and was provided a number to do the run about again. I phoned the agent who advised no inspection was due. Why were we informed otherwise by SHH? On another occasion there was a fire alarm inspection which we were not informed of - I was only in the property due to sheer chance. Had we been out, we would have been charged.The constant lack of correct communication from SHH began to feel like an unfunny joke.<br><br>Once our notice was handed in, the communication with SHH did not improve. Upon requesting to attend the check-out inspection, we were informed the clerk would contact us to inform of the viewing time. This did not occur, and therefore we were unable to attend the check-out inspection. Upon raising our concerns to Slater and Hogg, we were dismissed by the property manager/branch manager. We eventually raised a complaint to Countrywide; they do not have evidence the clerk contacted us. SHH have dismissed our concerns. During this time, Slater and Hogg had no difficulty charging us an extortionate cleaning fee. We believe the costs were exaggerated to keep as much of the deposit as possible. SHH requested an additional £10 for no apparent reason; another indication of their incompetence.<br><br>Our time letting has been nothing short of horrific. From incompetent staff and questionable following of the code of practice, I would avoid letting from this agency at all costs.

Jason was so friendly there was no hard sell just real genuine interest in helping us sell our property, which we hadn’t found with other estate agents. Throughout the process his communication was second to none and we always felt in the loop with what was happening, which just made the whole process so much easier and less stressful. When it came to selling, Jason exceeded my expectations of sale price by literally 10s of thousands. I couldn’t have asked for more when selling my first home! Would highly recommend!- 26th May 2026 (5 weeks ago)Thank you to all the staff at Countrywide Shawlands for brilliant customer service especially Alarise who was my contact. She kept me fully informed by telephone and email and was very personable and takes a pride in her job. I would highly recommend the team at Shawlands if you have a home to sell.
- 9th May 2026 (7 weeks ago)Offered me a flat, once I accepted said that the landlord wants to host 10 more viewings even though they legally offered me the flat. Said they would get back to me within 2 days to confirm if the landlord has gone with me. Till this day I haven’t heard a thing. Inhumane agency that only cares about money. Avoid at all costs!

From the start when I was hunting for properties, all the way to sealing the deal with the Solicitors - Joe at Allen and Harris Shawlands was brilliant. Personable, Knowledgeable and invested in getting me the property I wanted. Later days, Scott (I'm assuming the spelling) was on point, great communication and made the final steps as easy as can be.<br><br>Sincerely, thank you to the team at Shawlands.

28th May 2026 (30 days ago)just now New My experience with DJ Alexander has been negative. I booked a flat viewing for a property and was then informed it was cancelled at short notice. I then got an email later that day saying a similar property is available but it was the same one. I queried this and was told it fell through so it’s available for a viewing again. I then booked another viewing only for to be cancelled an hour before again that it had been let. This was all communicated via automated emails. Not a great experience.
13th Jun 2026 (14 days ago)The letting agent was promptly on time and very polite and accommodating to myself and everyone else there viewing the property. She answered any and all questions, along with giving people space when needed to view the rooms alone

10th Apr 2026 (11 weeks ago)I'd say 1 star is too generous. As stated from numerous other reviews the owner George is a very unpleasant human being. From the very beginning I had issues with the storage heaters not working properly and horrible problems with damp and mould that kept getting ignored and not taken seriously and the solution to this was to keep all windows open all day and night in the height of winter( it was that cold my pipes had frozen) From this George lied to me about the landlord wanting me out of the property yet couldn't provide evidence of this all because he didn't want to take responsibility that his company was failing their basic responsibilities and during this conversation George actively threatened me with violence because I wasn't backing down to his bullying. After stating that I was recording the whole conversation he very quickly changed his tune and wanted to finally try and help but by doing this passed my number onto a central heating company to change over the storage heaters which I was to pay for myself which is ludicrous from a renter. Lastly when I moved out, I had the property cleaned and painted and left items that were already there when I moved in yet tried claiming I had left them and left the property in an unreasonable state especially marks on Walls that were continously having to be cleaned due to black mould, yet never contested giving back the full deposit which shows they were trying to be awkward and difficult for the sake of it. If you can, please stay away from this company.

From the outset, timescales and realistic expectations of the sales price were given and were very accurate. I was delighted with the sales price achieved and would have no hesitation in recommending their services.

Craig, Megan, Laura and all of the team were extremely helpful throughout the entire process. By far the best property selling experience that we have had. Would not hesitate in recommending them for any others looking to sell their property in the southside.
16th May 2026 (6 weeks ago)This is one of the worst letting company, communication is poor. If you ask them to do something they will come and do some patch work and then again every month you are just chasing them to do the maintenance. They will increase prices but do nothing to help the tenants. All they are looking at is how to squeeze out the money. Very dissatisfied with overall services. Not recommend for renters.

Both Stefan and Aisling were always approachable and responsive, keeping us fully informed of progress on a daily basis. The result was a quick sale. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Batchelors, who deliver the best possible outcome. First class service throughout.

3rd Jun 2026 (24 days ago)Elevate were by far the best estate agents we dealt with during our house search. After speaking to and viewing properties with a number of different agents/agencies, the difference was genuinely night and day, I cannot stop telling anyone/everyone when we're on the subject. Everytime I seen a property I was interested in was posted by Elevate, I genuinely done a sigh of relief knowing they were the best to deal with! What I appreciated most was that there was no nonsense. Everyone we dealt with was so kind, honest, helpful and genuinely cared about helping us find the right home rather than just making a sale. Their advice was always useful and they were extremely professional throughout the entire process! The first person we met was Sharon and she was an absolute star from the start. She made such a great impression and was a massive breath of fresh air in the sea of mess that we were in! We then got to meet with Sophie who was fantastic! She has always been very helpful, quick to respond to emails and made everything feel much easier, again has been an absolute pleasure and made us feel very much valued as buyers! A special mention also has to go to Joanne, who was helping me reorganise our many viewings, even late on a Sunday evening she was helping me, that level of customer service is rare and it did not go unnoticed!! I have genuinely been blown away by the whole team and have already been recommending Elevate to friends, neighbours and family. Anyone thinking about buying or selling should give them a call without a doubt. When the time comes for us to sell, I already know exactly who we'll be using! Thank you all at Elevate for making what can be a stressful experience so much easier!!??????

Their service has been exceptional, definitely exceeded our expectations. As international students studying in Glasgow, it always feels good to know that we’re in safe hands.

So professional, thorough and talked me through every step - and answered ALL of my questions!<br><br>Photographs of the property were brilliant. David took the time to get to know the property and surrounding area and wrote up a brilliant description of it.<br><br>The flat sold after one day on the market because they know how to make it sought after and sell! David was on top of all communications and steered me through everything.<br><br>Top guys who are passionate and brilliant at their jobs!
8th Jun 2026 (19 days ago)I can’t recommend Connaire at Kelly Residential highly enough. From start to finish, he was outstanding throughout the sale of my flat. His communication was excellent at every stage, always keeping me informed and responding quickly to any questions or concerns. The information he brought when he came to value the property showed that he had done his homework and knew the area. If, or, when we look to move in the future il be coming back to Connaire for sure.
