Changed to Thomas Merrifield and the difference was amazing. John and Sharon who we dealt with the most were great, really knowledgable of the area, the valuation of the house and advising us all the way through the process. Nothing was too much trouble, communication was excellent. Overall, very pleased.

6th Aug 2025 (1 year ago)I have just completed on my new property bought through Barton Fleming in Bicester. From the start I was shown the property by Terry, and from there on in dealt mainly with Colin. I couldn't fault them. Any queries I had of which there were a few were sorted and dealt with. I feel I built up a good relationship with them and they went above and beyond to sort out any issues I had. I feel it was nice to work with a local independent company and to support local trade. 5 stars from me all round. Thank you Colin,Terry and your team. Many thanks

She was always available to answer our questions, kept us updated, and went above and beyond to help make what could have been a stressful experience much easier for us.<br><br>As first-time buyers, we really appreciated her guidance and support. She made us feel confident and reassured at every stage, and we are very grateful for everything she did to help us complete the purchase of our first home.<br><br>We would also like to say a huge thank you to Danielle, the mortgage advisor, for all her help in arranging our mortgage. James sold us our house 10 years ago and after talking to a few agents, we knew Cridlands were the right people to manage our sale. Despite a bit of a difficult and frustrating market, James kept us sane with good advice on the state of the market, recommendations for strategy and when we needed to be realistic on price.<br><br>His experience and skill were very valuable in helping us manage the process from accepting an offer to completion -his regular communications with (and chasing of) all parties smoothed the process and kept things moving. Given we were selling an old listed property there were inevitably queries and James helped us, and other parties, navigate and work through these in a pragmatic way and focus on those that were actually of concern to the buyer.<br><br>James and the team are a pleasure to deal with and we have had some very entertaining discussions along the way, thank you Cridland and Co!

23rd Jun 2026 (12 weeks ago)Very disappointing experience with Mark David. After eight weeks on the market, we had just one viewing and very little communication or proactive marketing. When we asked why our property wasn’t selling, we were told it was because of Donald Trump and the current wars in the world, rather than being given any meaningful advice or strategy. We are now back to square one and have to find a new estate agent, yet we’re tied into our agreement until the end of July despite many of the things we were promised not being delivered. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend Mark David.

19th Jun 2026 (13 weeks ago)Great, all friendly, glad we chose to use them for the sale of my property- 13th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)We have been with Chancellors since 2022 and the service has been consistently unacceptable. Despite paying for full management, our tenants repeatedly contacted us directly because Chancellors simply did not respond to them. We were effectively managing the property ourselves while still paying Chancellors for a service they were not providing.<br>In 2024, our tenants moved out while we were abroad due to a family bereavement. Our neighbour alerted us that the bins were overflowing and, shockingly, the property doors had been left open. We tried contacting Chancellors urgently, only to be told it was the checkout agency’s fault — an agency they themselves appointed.<br>When new tenants moved in (while we were still away), we asked Chancellors to downgrade our service to basic rent collection only. Once we returned, the new tenants showed us the condition the previous tenants had left behind:<br>Lawn stripped and replaced with artificial grass without our consent<br>Nails on walls inside the house<br>Missing blinds and curtains<br>Bins left overflowing, which the new tenants had to clean themselves<br>When we raised this with Chancellors, we were told they “don’t manage the property anymore” — despite the fact that the previous tenancy WAS managed. After weeks of being passed from department to department, we were told the Deposit Replacement Scheme wouldn’t pay anything because more than 30 days had passed. The delay was entirely caused by Chancellors’ internal confusion and lack of ownership. Only one helpful staff member, Kwesi, escalated the issue and we received around £100 — nowhere near the actual cost of the damage.<br>During the 2025 renewal, we clearly stated we did NOT want DRS and were not charged. Now, during the 2026 renewal, Chancellors have suddenly deducted DRS for 2025 and are demanding “proof” of the agreement — even though their own staff confirmed it at the time.<br>Trying to reach the property manager has become impossible. No calls returned for over a week, emails ignored despite CC’ing multiple staff. Today, a staff member told us the property manager “doesn’t want to speak to us because we shouted at her.” This is completely false — she has never once returned our calls, so shouting at her would be impossible.<br>Her email now claims she has “no record” of the DRS agreement and insists we provide proof, while refusing to address the late rent queries or the ongoing service failures.<br>The service is chaotic, unprofessional, and deeply frustrating. Departments contradict each other, no one takes responsibility, and we are left to deal with the consequences every single time. After years of mismanagement, negligence, and financial errors, we simply want to terminate our contract and move our property elsewhere.

18th Jun 2026 (13 weeks ago)We had a great experience buying our first home in Bicester through Hunters.<br><br>As first-time buyers, we honestly did not know much about the process at the beginning, but Rachel, Jenny and Phil were incredibly helpful throughout. They supported us from the first viewing all the way to completion, and even afterwards with various follow-up matters.<br><br>It was a chain of four parties, but we still managed to complete in around 10 weeks from offer to completion. This would not have been possible without their dedicated help, timely and clear communication, as well as professional support.<br><br>A big thank you to the Hunters Bicester team. Highly recommended!
