"TERRIBLE SERVICE" They deducted my deposit for check out cost without my consent and they do not take the new legislation into consideration to not charge the tenants for unnecessary costs. I had to pay for check-in fee, check-out fee, admin fee and any fees they could possibly charge us.

The Director Jatender Chaggar was very disrespectful in my home and appeared to be extremely arrogant I was disgusted by his attitude and asked him to vacate my property! I will inform my colleagues who are property entrepreneurs in the area and will be sure to inform others about my experience to ensure that they too are not mistreated. I had four other estate agents arrive after Jatender arrived, i mentioned to them what had happened and they didn't appear surprised and confirmed that they were know to them as a local business and also found them to be rude and that they were known for their shear arrogance. You have been around for 30 years! And only have 42 reviews,..jokers. Its very likely the reviews are not a true reflection of how they conduct their business and a large number of those reviews are probably friends and family! I have posted my experience to my whatsapp groups and will share on my social media .

FOREIGNERS FLEE! LANDLORDS FLEE! SCAMMERS ALERT! They stole my deposit and refused to review my garantor. They would rather have me pay 6 months in advance (which is illegal), than to review my guarantor (which means less protection for the landlord). They take agency fees when they do zero work and never answer their emails! They also take referencing process fees to review foreigners which is impossible because they come from another country. DO NOT GO TO THIS AGENCY!

For a place that stands for impeccable service, we receive appaling level of attentiveness from the staff at the afternoon tea/ dinner service. Its the holidays and they must have been busier than usual but overwhelmed is not something I expect given their reputation. Definitely not worth the spend and time.

Edited to add: the response contains a number of inaccuracies. As of 28/11/18, Leo Newman still haven’t released my deposit. Also, when they learned of this review, they threatened to put me on a “tenant black list”. So their good rating here might be due to threats. ——————— It started out so good, but quickly sped downhill... TL;DR: They're nice on the way in, but shifty on the way out. THE GOOD: If you're only using them as a lettings agent, Leo Newman are all right (if expensive). They worked with us on the deposit (being new to the UK, it's hard to move money around). They provided a decent flat at an affordable rent (once I counter offered, that is). THE BAD: Leo Newman were also our property management company, so we had consistent run-arounds to get simple repairs performed. They did (eventually) fix things, such as the leak in the kitchen ceiling, but only after an exhaustive back and forth where they ask you to photograph what's wrong. THE UGLY: This is where it gets nasty. When our tenancy agreement came due after a year, they wanted to jack up the rent by 20%. Since the flat wasn't worth what they were asking, we countered with a more reasonable 2%. We were exemplary tenants; never late with rent, quiet, clean, and generally good neighbours. It took them weeks to accept our offer, but in the meantime we found a better flat in a nicer neighbourhood for just a bit more money. On moving in, we paid an additional deposit due to our small cat, bringing the total to £1500. Moving out, we followed all of their conditions to the letter, even to getting a professional deep cleaning. The only hitch was accessing our electrical account, which was paid on standing debit. I couldn't get into the account to show the £0 balance, but did give them the debit as proof of payment. That wasn't good enough, so they've withheld my £1500 deposit FOR WEEKS (this is in direct violation of the DPS, which states that funds can't be arbitrarily withheld and only the amount in dispute can be claimed, NOT the whole amount, and that the landlord has to show cause).
