1st Aug 2026 (10 days ago)I had a fantastic experience purchasing my first house through Gascoigne Halman in Altrincham. From the initial viewing right through to exchange and completion, the communication was excellent throughout the entire process.<br>A special thank you to Joanna, who went above and beyond to make everything as smooth and stress-free as possible. She was always helpful, responsive, and genuinely cared about making the experience a positive one. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better person to guide me through buying my first home.<br>I would highly recommend Gascoigne Halman in Altrincham to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.
30th Jul 2026 (12 days ago)Put simply, this letting agent is ignorant of, or is in blatant disregard to, the law.<br><br>For rental agreements, they purport to charge a £75.00 fee for a missed appointment to sign the tenancy agreement alongside many other 'administrative' fees listed in the formal letting agreements. These fees have been illegal (as statutory 'prohibited payments') since 2019 (under the Tenants Fees Act) and they're still trying to charge them 7 years later!<br><br>Also beware, their letting agreements also impose numerous onerous and extremely vague clauses which you should be very cautious of before signing.- 25th May 2026 (11 weeks ago)Julie at Gascoigne Halman was fantastic throughout our house purchase. Buying a house can be incredibly stressful, especially with a long chain involved, but Julie was proactive, supportive, and always kept things moving. Her communication, persistence, and coordination made a huge difference and genuinely helped get the purchase over the line. The wider team were also professional, responsive, and helpful throughout the process. Thank you again to Julie and the team for all of your hard work. We really appreciate it and would highly recommend Gascoigne Halman.

We were always kept in the loop and they constantly kept in touch and pushed for the sale and the buying of our new house . Excellent service all round . I would always recommend them to anyone. .

24th Jul 2026 (18 days ago)After my partner wrote a 1 star review (which let me remind you is completely allowed on a rating site and was an honest reflection of our experience with jameson and partners), the managing director has been emailing us about it.<br>Not to apologise, not to try and get better as a business, but to let us know that she doesn’t think it’s a just review. She even mentioned that the vendors might share our review with other local agencies to “pre-warn them of this behaviour” if we don’t take it down.<br>This is all in an email of which I have saved.<br><br>We would like to reiterate that we have no problem with the vendors. They have every right to get as much for their property as they can. We understand that completely and wish them nothing but the best.<br><br>To Jameson and partners, I would implore you to read the review again. We had issues with your communication, your exclusivity agreement and since then how you conduct yourselves.<br><br>This is what the 1 star review is for, warning other first time buyers of our experience.<br><br>We will not be taking down the initial review nor this review so please stop asking. All we hope is other first time buyers chose their estate agents wisely!

23rd Feb 2026 (24 weeks ago)? 1 Star – Completely Unacceptable Living Conditions I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this company. For five years I repeatedly reported serious repair issues that were never properly resolved. During that time, my six-year-old child was forced to live in unacceptable and unsafe conditions. The property had broken internal doors, a constantly leaking bathroom, rusted and leaking radiators, and a kitchen full of damp and mould. The issues were ongoing and left unattended despite numerous complaints. What makes this worse is that instead of addressing the disrepair, their house cleaner was posting videos on Instagram showcasing the property — yet it was still in the same poor condition I had been left to live in for seven years. Nothing meaningful had been fixed. It felt like appearance mattered more than tenant welfare. No child should have to grow up in a home with persistent leaks, mould, and broken fixtures. The lack of urgency, care, and basic responsibility shown throughout my tenancy was beyond disappointing. I would not recommend renting through them.

15th Jul 2025 (1 year ago)Overpromised, Underperformed and Untrustworthy – My Costly Mistake with HSD I initially listed my property with PurpleBricks in March 2025 for £535,000. After limited viewings over a three-month period, I began exploring other options and submitted an enquiry to WeBuyAnyHouse. They quickly came back with an offer of £460,000—roughly 14% below asking—claiming it would allow for a quick sale. I immediately declined, as I was not in a rush and didn’t want to take such a significant loss. Shortly after, my details were apparently passed on to House Sales Direct (HSD), seemingly a sister company, without my explicit consent. HSD came across as professional and engaging at first. They promised a 98% success rate in selling properties within 28 days, citing a strong network of pre-approved buyers and investors who could complete within 6–8 weeks. They suggested a sale price spread of £510k–£535k, assuring me they would work to get me the best price possible. It sounded promising. Based on these assurances, I decided to proceed with HSD. I withdrew my PurpleBricks listing—costing me £300—with the understanding that HSD’s investor network would accelerate the sale. But things quickly began to unravel. Despite supposedly having investors lined up, HSD said they needed to relist my property on Rightmove first. When I questioned why investors couldn’t simply view the home, the response was vague. It took nearly two weeks for them to relist, and the new asking price was £525,000. A full week passed without any communication. Then came a call recommending the price be dropped to £499,000. I was told this was “just a marketing tactic,” and that they still aimed to get me a sale within the original £510k–£535k range. But I struggled to understand how listing a property nearly £40,000 lower would achieve that. I asked again about the investors. They finally admitted the only offer received was the same £460k I'd declined weeks earlier through WeBuyAnyHouse. This was when the red flags really began to show. Why wasn’t I told this upfront? Why present an optimistic price range if their investor offer was fixed at £460k from the beginning? Why was I encouraged to pull the property from PurpleBricks if they intended to rely on the open market anyway? I could have just reduced the price there and avoided unnecessary costs and delays. Doing more research online, I found stories from others with eerily similar experiences. It appeared HSD’s real model was to attract sellers with high expectations and then drop the price, relying on open-market tactics to force a quick sale. Despite claiming not to charge commission, they would never clearly explain how they made their money. It seems they may be negotiating higher prices with buyers while offering sellers less—profiting off the gap. No transparency, no trust. Meanwhile, they knew I was paying a high mortgage on an empty property. It became clear they were hoping I’d become desperate enough to accept the same low £460k offer I had already rejected twice. In the four weeks my property was listed with them, only four viewings were arranged. Two were no-shows. Of the remaining two, one viewer stayed for just five minutes—asked no questions and didn’t even view all the rooms. It felt performative, not serious. As expected, neither viewer submitted an offer, despite supposedly being “pre-qualified and keen.” Eventually, I told HSD I wanted to withdraw the property. That’s when I was informed—shockingly—that I had unknowingly signed up for a 52-week contract, and I’d need to pay £1,500 to exit, or £999 if paid within 7 days. I wrote to them, acknowledged that they had done some work, and offered a reasonable £699 exit fee, explaining I needed to rent the home out due to financial strain. They refused and insisted on full payment. I paid the £999 immediately—but it still took a full week and several chasers before they finally removed the property from Rightmove. By the end of the ordeal, it was clear I was no longer a priority for them. In summary: Do I regret choosing HSD? Absolutely. Would I recommend them to someone looking for a fair, transparent, and professional house sale experience? No. If your only goal is to sell quickly and you don’t care about value, they might work for you. But if you want to sell your home at a decent price with a partner you can trust, I strongly advise staying away from HSD.
17th Jul 2026 (25 days ago)Please stay clear of this company. They are highly unprofessional and have no desire to stand by their own terms and work in a smooth and timely manner. They do not stay updated on any progress when working through a purchase of a property and do not act as if they want to get to completion within their own 60-day terms. I had two occasions on the same property when a mortgage valuation was booked in, and the Jack Senior at Let Property assured me the first would be completed. Once no one turned up at the property to allow access for the valuation, it had to be rebooked, and when I spoke to Jack again he assured me 100% someone would be there. But again, when the valuer arrived at the property no one was there to allow access. Also during the process it would take days, sometimes a week, to get a simple bit of info or just a return call from Jack or anyone at Let Property. They set 60-day completion terms, which I was happy to work to and moved fast on my side, but when they constantly delayed things, it got to the point nothing was moving foward. On top of this, they take a reservation deposit and will not refund it has we are past the 60-day terms even with the delays being their own fault. I would highly recommend staying clear and using any other company. I have found Pure Investor to be very professional, helpful and hardworking to make sure both the seller and buyer are happy and continue to get things moving forward.

My letting negotiate was Rene she was so lovely and professional and the way through the process. If she hadn't told she was fairly new to her professional I would of never known 10 out of 10 . It made a difficult time for me much more easy to deal with. Also all the other staff that helped me along the way way was amazing
