27th Apr 2024 (13 weeks ago)Not impressed with my experience as a potential seller or purchaser. Would give them a lot less than 1 star if it was possible. We had a valuation over a month ago, agent could not give us a valuation at the time and had to speak to her boss and heard nothing since. Really odd since they had sold another almost identical house 2 roads away away 2 or 3 weeks earlier? When queried during my potential purchase viewing was told they had e-mail issues I can only assume they did not have a phone, clearly they didn't want the business? Thankfully we booked 2 valuations that day and chose the other agent who not only gave us a valuation whilst he was here we were also given more confidence in the service on offer. It was the right decision as we sold in a week, but the one shipways sold took about 3 months or so. I made an offer as a purchaser which was increased as I was told by the agent it would be accepted. Then I was asked to increase further so it would be taken off the market as I wasn't sold but they knew this when the offers were made, and it was even on the offer email. A couple of days later when I was sold and after a week of being given the run around by the agent who would be in meetings, viewings and other calls when I tried to contact her I decided to withdraw my offer as could no longer trust what I was being told. Whilst I understand they have to be led by the vendor honesty and trust should be integral to any negotiation. Not sure how you would know the sellers thoughts and movements if you can't contact them?
2nd Jul 2024 (25 days ago)Couldn’t recommend Arden enough but especially Stephanie who we first met last Nov & despite loving the location, garden and view of the house we viewed with her we decided it wasn’t really big enough and didn’t proceed. We continued our search in a quiet market over Christmas and up to Easter and then Steph rang to ask if we were still looking as a bigger detached house was coming up in the same area we liked - there was a lot of interest but we were successful in our bid and 6 weeks later have completed and got the keys to our forever home. Thanks for everything Stephanie. You’re a real asset to Arden. Thanks to Hannah too. 5 star service all round ????????

Peter was responsive to all my questions and was proactive in getting the house sold, coordinating the solicitors to exchange and complete on the house.

2nd Jul 2024 (25 days ago)Extremely disappointing and deceiving. I travelled all the way from Manchester for a viewing in Birmingham and the house wasn’t the one they showed me on Rightmove. The person was really sweet and warm but it pissed me off that they cheated me like that, I would’ve appreciated if they would’ve let me know that it was taken when I messaged them all the details as soon as it came up. They even told me we’ll let you know when the viewing starts so you’ll be in queue. Horrible never going to Genie homes.
12th Mar 2019 (5 years ago)Had a valuation from Mr Pretty that was quite disappointing, instead of valuating our house he just suggested what he thought based on houses in the area, this can vary within half a mile, looked very uninterested and gave us no information compared to other agents. We actually sold our house for £27,000 more than Mr Pretty valuated and that was with it only being on the market for one week, just be aware if you do not live in Alvechurch not to waste your time.

28th Jun 2023 (1 year ago)Multiple emails by both myself and the building owner to different agents and website communication points, for well over a month with no reply. Laughable lack of communication. I can't even say that they are refusing to return the deposit, or made up an excuse to avoid doing it, as they have dropped all communications entirely.
