7th Jun 2025 (14 days ago)The apartment we rented was left in a terrible state, I do not think the agency has checked whether the previous tenants have cleaned it or not. I would not trust them with another rental. Update: More than one week after the intended move-in date they have not sent anyone to solve the mould problem or clean the apartment. We are struggling to get in touch with them, which is causing us a lot of stress. In particular, Antony has been unresponsive and dismissive. When discussing the mould problem on the phone, he said 'just wipe it off', instead of arranging for a cleaning agency to fix it.

Joseph and Beata were so helpful with setting everything up for me and were always around to help me with anything I needed during my time at the flat. I couldn’t have asked for better people to help me find a place to live and will always be thankful to them for all the support and guidance they gave to me during my time living there.

From the very first interaction, they were professional, responsive, and completely dedicated to helping me through every step of the process. What impressed me most was their communication—always timely, transparent, and reassuring. I never felt out of the loop, and they were always available to answer questions or offer guidance. It was clear they had my best interests at heart throughout. Jay was professional, attentive, and genuinely client-focused. They have done a great job as a bridge between the landlord and myself, and they come back to me immediately with the solution every time I have enquiries. Any faults with the property are quickly remediated, and the agency is very responsive to queries in general. Renewal of my tenancy was handled quickly and professionally by my agent James. Looking forward to a continued tenancy!
23rd Sep 2022 (2 years ago)A window in the flat broke in November, almost a year later and we find out from the tenant that they haven't fixed it. Will not respond to calls or return them. Property managers seem to change every three months and no new manager seems to have any idea of what the previous ones said or did. Avoid.

I had to chase mostly for feed back on viewings and I never felt that communication was as it was promised in the beginning. It’s a difficult market so it’s hard to say what and how the flat would have sold price wise and time wise in a better market overall I would say average
18th Mar 2024 (1 year ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
5th Jun 2025 (16 days ago)I had a viewing set up to let a property advertised by Hemmingfords. I had email and text confirmation of the time and place. When I showed up the current tenant wasn’t aware I was coming and the agent never showed up. I tried calling and emailing and never got a response
6th Jun 2025 (15 days ago)Six Months of Rodent Infestation Six Months of Rodent Infestation – No Real Resolution We’ve endured six months of rodent infestation in a property managed by The Chant Group, and the experience has been appalling. Despite countless emails, pest control reports, and even rodents getting into our bedroom and personal belongings, the issue was never taken seriously. Instead of acting on clear professional advice for structural proofing, we were sent a handyman who carried out poor patch-up work — which pest control later confirmed was inadequate. The problem has repeatedly been downplayed, communication has been inconsistent, and there's been no meaningful accountability or urgency. We’ve had to throw away contaminated items, constantly disinfect our home, and live with stress and disruption for half a year. For a premium rent, this level of mismanagement is unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to think twice before renting a property managed by The Chant Group.

He was non-pressurising, offered genuine advice, made the process personable and made me feel at ease during a stressful and new process for a first-time buyer such as myself! I felt looked after and in good hands, Jack was approachable and accessible to get further advice throughout the process. It is a shame that he was unable to complete the process on my exchange date as he was away (which is absolutely fair!). However, the agent who was sent in on the day of the exchanging of keys was evidently completely clueless. Overall, I would recommend this estate agency!
