6th Apr 2024 (21 days ago)Our experience with Mov8 was easy they kept us informed with viewing and communication was prompt. The only thing was their offices are in Edinburgh and Glasgow and we are in Carnoustie which was a little inconvenient if we needed to go to their office to sign things
15th Sep 2023 (7 mo. ago)Avoid at all costs. They dealt with the conveyancing when we sold one house and would have done for the buying of a new one had we not sacked them first. They were slow and totally unproactive. At best they acted like an expensive post box. The final straw was when they "forgot" to hand over a significant deposit of tens of thousands of pounds we had paid to them for onward transmission to a major nationwide house builder as an essential part of the contract. This only came to light when I asked for confirmation of receipt of the money from the builder weeks after it was due but they said they hadn't received it. Initially I thought the builder was at fault but then a light bulb moment made me think it was Deans and who knows how much longer Deans would have sat on our money had I not proactively intervened. When I asked for an explanation Deans said "they weren't asked" for the deposit. Feeble. £200 compensation was nowhere enough for the stress caused. It was only by the exceptional customer service from the nationwide house builder that we didn't lose the house.
14th Mar 2024 (6 weeks ago)Lack of communication and not pro-active as I had to instigate them doing anything. Pricing is terrible everything is an extra add on with vat on everything. Too expensive for lack of contact and or proactivity.

16th Feb 2022 (2 years ago)Worst company imaginable. Gave us misinformation for over six months regarding entry dates and also told us development was finished when it was not. Double check everything you are told by them. They misled us and we ended up over £18000 out of pocket. Avoid this company at all cost. They don’t admit liability for anything they do.

She was always on hand to answer any questions we had and made sure to discuss new information with us as soon as she had it. I highly recommend Elaine Gray & will definitely be contacting her in the future if we decide to move again.
5th Apr 2024 (22 days ago)Extremely poor communication, from a very rude and abrasive admin working in Linlithgow I believe. We phoned to put an offer on a bungalow in Livingston, to be told you can't, you need to do it through solicitor. I took advice phoned them back and said I've been told I can put verbal offer, woman huffed and said it's not how we do it, so you want me to put the offer to the vendor??? I said yes please, she huffed again! Our solicitor then phoned 10mins later to put formal offer in, to be told vendors on holiday so need to get hold of them! Next day the bungalow in Dovecote Place had UNDER OFFER ... We had NOT even been told, when my Solicitor phoned told it's under offer to someone else, the rude woman refused to give any other details, failed to follow legal rules about informing of other offers, and didnt return my call after!! Our first viewing we didn't even get a follow up call to see if we like it, their clearly taking a lot of money from people who've lost relatives as this was also part of an estate following a death. I've emailed to make a formal complaint, I'd be surprised if the vendor was even told of our offer, this company do nothing to earn the extortionate fees they charge, I'd never recommend them to anyone!!!
12th Feb 2024 (11 weeks ago)We used S&P successfully 7 years ago to sell our previous flat so decided to use them again. David Law was professional, engaging, and has excellent local knowledge. He was also realistic which we found most reassuring. We were then introduced to Ian Ely-Corbett who went out of his way to make the process of selling our home stress free and run as smoothly as possible. He was easy to contact by email or phone or text. We would highly recommend them to anyone wishing to sell their property. What made the difference was S&P’s personal service and attention to detail.

6th Feb 2023 (1 year ago)If it was possible, I'd have given Abbey Forth zero stars. Here's my experience with them: The place I rented from Abbey Forth had not been cleaned when I moved in. It was in a disgusting state with several broken fixtures. I took many photos and informed them that, because I was having to clean my new flat, I wouldn't be paying for the place to be professionally cleaned when I moved out. Throughout my year at the property, they were unprofessional and unhelpful when other problems arose: trying to charge me for boiler repairs (a boiler which was leaking on day 1), failing to resolve a drainage issue outside the kitchen door and, worst of all, falling to resolve an infestation of slugs in the kitchen - an obvious health hazard. When I moved out, they unsurprisingly tried to deduct £190 from my deposit for cleaning. I successfully disputed this charge with the deposit scheme, using the pictures and emails I'd sent them over the length of the tenancy. The deposit scheme found that, as the property was not cleaned to a good condition for the start of the tenancy, that I should only having to pay £60 In summary: Abbey Forth is the worst estate agent I've ever used. Rude staff and a general ethos of trying to squeeze money out of tenants for as little effort as possible. Only sign up with them if you are desperate and have no other options. If this is the case, then please make sure you document everything for inevitable struggle to get your deposit back

Not ideal - feel like they had too much work to handle mine at the time. Would have fathered they had just said they were too busy than wait too I was stressed and lost out on buyers.

24th Mar 2024 (5 weeks ago)What an amazing service from start to finish from both Jennifer, Andrew and Janice. For anyone who wants a simple, and efficient estate agent look no further. Our house went up on the market the week of Christmas when most estate agents close. Not Avenue Road. They made sure that everything still processed as normal and our house went up within days to ensure we were able to reserve our new home. The whole process was easy with them and made it very simple and straight forward for us. Andrew was always on hand for us regarding any viewings and interest. Jennifer was giving us regular updates and keeping us in the loop. One thing I would say which stands them out from the crowd is they are always on hand. For example we had a request at 10pm on a Saturday night for a viewing which we were delighted about. Within minutes we had it booked. You won’t get that 24/7 service anywhere else. At the very start we had a few estate agents come to negotiate with us but felt like a number with them and just another tick box. With Jennifer and Andrew we were a family looking to sell and move to our forever home and they wanted it for us. I could go on and on about how amazing they were and so grateful for them. I have recommended them to everyone I know and will continue to do so. Thank you again and always welcome for a cuppa in our new home.
