2nd Aug 2024 (6 weeks ago)The sale of my mothers house has just finalised today. Our sale was through Need To View, it was almost a seamless procedure, a couple of bumps along the way, but nothing to do with the company. The staff knew from the start the situation myself & my brother were in with regards to the sale and were empathetic and compassionate throughout the whole process. I am not aware as to whether they are the cheapest in our area, however, whatever they are charging its been worth it knowing that the sale was in safe hands. Would & will thoroughly recommend.

Has been helping me whilst becoming a first time buyer to understand the process, look at what works best for me and making it easy to understand throughout. Kirsty makes sure to check in regularly, even without having a property in mind, will check up on you, see how you're getting on with your search and then once you find somewhere is so supportive and helpful throughout the whole process. Couldn't be more grateful for the help so far!

I’ve approached this process very cautiously, and with a lot of nerves, but she has been incredibly patient and understanding. She’s been great at taking me through the process in a way that I understand, and I’ve felt supported throughout. This was always going to be stressful undertaking, but the guidance and support I’ve received from Phoebe has been a massive relief. The rest of the team at the Mansfield office have been just as amazing - Lewis, Josh and Abigail. They’ve all been professional and friendly, from start to finish. Five stars, very happy!
2nd Aug 2024 (6 weeks ago)Buckley Brown proposed a good price for the property, higher than I would have expected, and generated a lot of views within a couple of weeks and a selection of good offers for me to work with, leading to a speedy sale agreement.
23rd Aug 2024 (24 days ago)Recently had Bairstow Eves do a valuation on our house and had Lesley come to view. She was very nice, prompt, professional and thorough in exploring the property so no complaints there. The issue we had primarily was the valuation itself; I’m aware that everyone has different opinions and not all will be the same but we knew as soon as she pulled out the comparable properties in the area that she was going to value ours down fairly significantly. I’d already done my market research and thought £140-150k was fair, confirmed when another estate agency came and gave that exact valuation. Bairstow Eves however were adamant that £140k would be a push, the very top end and that we’d be waiting a while to sell it at that and the surveyors would never agree to a price above it. She said £150k was absolutely out of the question and whoever gave that valuation didn’t know what they were talking about and if we wanted to sell it fast we’d be better at £130-£135k. We completely disagreed with this as a house 2 doors up from ours sold for £130k through Bairstow Eves with no off street parking (we have a drive for 2 cars) and no outdoor studio and a smaller garden. I also did my own market research after she left and again, it was not on par with similar houses in the vicinity that were not in the good condition ours was in. Obviously we’re free to choose who we have sell our house, and we went with someone else in the end, but Lesley’s adamant valuation made us question ourselves and so rather than go for the £150k which we’d originally wanted, we put it on for £145k. It sold to the first person who came to look, before it even went to market, for the full asking price. The surveyor approved the price with their lender also so potentially could have got more if we’d wanted. Like I said I know house valuations vary but the conviction she had that we, and the other estate agency, were wrong and repeatedly told us we would never reach any where near that price goes to show that they don’t quite know as much as they suggest they do.

They managed the sale of a late relative's property for me, and while the process was filled with extreme challenges and delays due to the severe incompetence of the buyers solicitors, Vicky at David James was exceptional. Despite the stressful situation, she handled everything with professionalism and grace. We were working against a tight deadline, and Vicky managed my frequent calls and emails with patience, kindness, and understanding. She went above and beyond to help in a very delicate situation and truly deserves a medal for all she did. A heartfelt thank you to Vicky and the rest of the team for their incredible support over the past five months. You are all superstars. 2nd Sep 2024 (14 days ago)Our new student house with Nicholas Humphreys had a fair amount of dust, cobwebs, and a previous tentants sock. After consulting this with the agency, they told us the house was 'completely habitable'. This seemed as though they were disregarding the situation. Responses from them have been taking longer than 10 days, with follow up emails needed to get a response. EDIT: After 27 days from the initial email, our issue was resolved swiftly by another team member, who sent a clear and satisfactory update on the changes made. It seems that the lack of communication was the main issue.
27th Aug 2024 (20 days ago)Although staff were pleasant at all times, the management service was not good. There were costly errors during the tenancy, communication wasn't great either. We have received an apology for these. We are grateful to the agency for finding new tenants, but in light of our experience, have decided to manage the property ourselves
24th Jul 2024 (8 weeks ago)It’s good to see a 4.9 review rating so I’m surprised that I experienced less than satisfactory courtesy when I enquired about the square footage of a property only to be told it is not something they have details of! I was not offered a brochure at the time, which gives measurements, the request was declined to add them up and it was suggested I ask the vendor at the viewing! During my initial enquiry to the office about the property by phone, the background noise by other members of staff was so loud I had trouble hearing my conversation. Hattie’s valuation on my property was very efficient.

18th Mar 2024 (5 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

20th May 2024 (17 weeks ago)BP Auctions have been anything BUT easy to work with. We’ve been chasing for updates on the sale of our property for weeks with no response. Every time we manage to speak to someone on the phone, we’re promised a call back that never happens. No one responds via email, and the whole process has been painfully slow from start to finish.
