A great company to work alongside! Always there to help whether it's 7am in the morning or 12am at night. They understood our creative brief for our new website (our last 2 websites have been created by Venn), and executed it at an extremely high level. Not only have they helped us with the production of our new website, but they have delivered numerous successful SEO and PPC campaigns. A great company to do business with, thank you for all of your hard work!... Read more

Not one bit stressful! I had been putting off moving house for months because the thought of selling and buying another property seemed too stressful. However after filling out a form on the HOME website for a valuation everything just fell into place. The efficient service, the friendly positive staff and the professional approach meant I had my house on the market, a buyer and an offer accepted on my new home in a matter of weeks. I can only thank the team at Home for that as without them I think I would definitely still be viewing houses! Kirsty has been looking after the chain and I am updated regularly with how things are going, no excuses or jargon, just a friendly call, message or email to let me know things are all on track, the communication is faultless. Yes the solicitors can be slow down and there can be the odd hiccup but having Home as my estate agents I know they are working for me and doing everything they can to complete, so there isn’t any need for me to get stressed. I couldn’t recommend them enough!... Read more

Banner & Co

Banner & Co acted as letting agent for our apartment in Lymm for eight years, and also in relation to its recent sale. During all that time, including through the sale process, the team have provided a fully supportive and proactive service, dealing with all and any aspects of successive tenancies on our behalf with the least amount of fuss. Basically. they just got on with whatever was needed to make the rental as trouble-free for us as possible, and were always on hand. This became even more important when we moved to the South of England five years ago. We would have no hesitation in recommending their services to current and prospective landlords.... Read more

Our landlord was an utter crook and Banner did NOTHING to protect us from him and basically enabled him to abuse us for 3+ years. He claimed the flat had been professionally cleaned prior to our arrival and it was clear that he hadn’t even bothered to use basic cleaning products, it took several months to finally get Banner to agree to put it in writing that we wouldn’t be made to pay for a professional cleaner at the end. Also the boiler broke and was deemed too dangerous to use as the expansion vessel had ruptured. The landlord refused to pay to repair it for over 4 months with Banner again doing nothing to force him and it was only sorted when I threatened to take legal action. At the end, the landlord attempted to charge us £650 in cleaning and decorating costs, again, Banner making no effort to stop him and just allowed it. When we disputed the charges Banner said they would provide “impartial evidence” for both the tenants and the landlord, however they instead deliberately twisted the facts and claimed that we had repeatedly violated the tenancy agreement, however as I had taken photos of the property when we moved in and had made Banner confirm we were not required to clean the property, we did get back every penny of the deposit. However, had Banner fulfilled their obligation to act on behalf of the landlord AND tenants at any point during the 3+ years we rented, we wouldn’t have had such a miserable and uncomfortable time living in the flat. I will say that Donna was wonderful, but the other letting agents we have had to deal with over the time have been dreadful. I wouldn’t wish this lot on my worst enemy! If you are thinking of renting, think VERY carefully before using Banner as they clearly side with the landlords over tenants.... Read more

If you're selling your house in Warrington don't choose this Lymm branch. On a Tuesday I asked for a viewing at 2pm on Friday, the response was that they could only do 3pm , when I said that was a bit difficult as we were on a very tight schedule while making a several hundred miles round trip. The reply was, 'well they are already doing a viewing around then in that area (presumably just after 3pm) and they're not going to drive all the way there and back again for another one'. They had no other appointments that day and none the following day. I don't expect to always be accommodated, but the attitude was very uncooperative. Could they not come once at 2pm and have a bit of a break for a cup of tea in between us and the other viewer if they're worried about their petrol costs? I'd be really annoyed if I was selling my house and interested viewers were being turned away when commission costs are so high.... Read more

I rented a flat from this company which was advertised as a smoke free flat. On viewing the property all windows were open and masks were worn due to covid 19 restrictions. Now that i have moved in I realised it stinks of smoke and a neighbour told me that the previous tenant smoked in it an was there for 40 years. I have a young child who suffers from asthma and third hand smoke is lethal for her health. Paul Birtles have refused to accept it stinks of smoke and refused to help resolved the situation. I offer to accept somewhere else which is smoke free but they have refused to accept this. Avoid this company at all costs.... Read more
