Chose Franca thinking she would be good during the final (post offer but pre contract exchange) stage in the process, but it's someone else at Philip James that handles that side of things (who also seems good, but worth bearing in mind)!

Having dealt with several other estate agents during my search, including one purchase with another agent that progressed quite far before falling through with little support provided from that particular agent, I can honestly say the service at Hunters stood out. Vicky, Marissa and team were consistently friendly, responsive, and proactive throughout the process. They were quick to address any questions or concerns, providing clear updates and helping everything move along smoothly and efficiently. Their support made the stress of house buying feel much more manageable. I would definitely recommend them — thank you again!

21st Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)Mike Hadfield was polite, friendly and personable. He explained clearly how he had reached his valuation for the property, the selling process, and their fee for selling. He clearly takes pride in his work, which was demonstrated when he spent time taking the photographs to show the best features of the property. We were able to sell the property for the price he had suggested.
19th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)Dealt with this firm as the seller when they represented the buyer on my property sale. Their conveyancer refused an existing absent landlord indemnity policy on completion and pushed for a retention for ground rent arrears. After completion, the ground rent invoice was issued by a company whose active Director is a Senior Partner of this exact law firm. When raised, the Senior Partner dismissed the concern on the basis that I was not their direct client. Be aware of how third-party transactions and retentions are handled here.<br><br>UPDATE in response to the owner's comments:<br><br>I was never provided with an address or contact details for any alleged rent collector, meaning there was literally no door to knock on. It was only when I researched the entity demanding the funds on Companies House that the direct link to this firm's Senior Partner was uncovered. Written correspondence from the conveyancer also confirmed that her client would not knock on a door to pay rent.<br><br>The Absent Landlord indemnity policy had already been purchased in 2018 at my own cost when I bought the property. Refusing existing insurance to extract cash under the time pressure of a completion date resulted in an unnecessary duplicate payment.<br><br>The response above openly confirms that the company which issued the arrears demand and received the payment has a Senior Partner of this law firm as an active Director.<br><br>I never confirmed the matter was closed, having promptly referred the conduct to the regulator. The SRA's assessment explicitly recorded that the conveyancer claimed she was personally unaware that her firm's Senior Partner ran the company collecting the ground rent.<br><br>The documented email trail and public Companies House records speak for themselves.

Great value for money versus others in the area. Hopefully the process to completion will be as efficient but mindful solicitors are involved and that WC . The photos Matthew Clayton took were outstanding and the writeup really helped to generate interest. 30th Jul 2026 (8 weeks ago)I cannot recommend Sue and the team at LRG/Leaders highly enough.<br><br>My purchase wasn’t straightforward, with delays outside anyone’s control, but throughout the entire process Sue kept me updated, responded promptly to my emails, and was always reassuring, kind, professional and incredibly patient.<br><br>Communication was excellent from start to finish, and I always felt informed about what was happening.<br><br>Massive thanks to Sue and the team for all of your hard work in helping me purchase my first home. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the team to anyone buying or selling a property.

6th Sep 2026 (20 days ago)Avoid this company they made buying our first home an awful experience. I’d especially advise you to avoid Susie Ralston and Paul Howell. Told me the role as an estate agent is to list and sell a property and any chasing of a chain is simply a good will gesture and falls outside of the estate agent’s ethics.<br>They had the audacity to advise thier contact log showed 32 contact points since April. Yes 32 times I had to chase and ask for updates to which I was met with nothing meaningful and to contact my solicitor. They also had the cheek to say I knew the vendors daughter in law so I had updates from them - shouldn’t have to justify I know sometime from a school run not personally as a friend.<br>Ignored my complaint request for compensation.<br>Property onbudsman is my next step.

29th Aug 2026 (28 days ago)I had a very disappointing experience with Balmer & Co and would not recommend them based on my experience as a tenant.<br><br>While I was living at the property, part of the kitchen ceiling collapsed. Despite the seriousness of the issue, I was left living with the damaged ceiling for around three months before it was finally repaired. During that time, I repeatedly tried to get the issue resolved, but my communications were often ignored and the overall level of service was extremely poor.<br><br>The problems continued at the end of my tenancy. Balmer & Co claimed that there were marks and scratches on the walls and sought deductions from my deposit. However, I had video evidence showing that those marks were already there before my tenancy.<br><br>The most concerning part of my experience happened when I went to their Atherton office to ask for an explanation about the DPS deposit request. I handed my phone to Rachel so she could look at the DPS request and explain to me what was happening. Instead of simply explaining it to me, she pressed the “Accept” option on my phone.<br><br>I had not handed her my phone to accept the request on my behalf. I gave it to her so she could look at it and explain the situation to me. Once the request had been accepted, I was no longer able to dispute the deductions through the normal DPS process.<br><br>I later contacted DPS about what had happened, but by that point the request had already been accepted.<br><br>Overall, my experience was extremely poor: around three months living with a damaged kitchen ceiling, repeated lack of communication, disputed claims about the condition of the property despite me having video evidence, and finally the way the DPS request was accepted on my phone when I had only asked for an explanation.<br><br>Based on my experience, I would strongly advise tenants to keep photographs and videos of the property from the beginning of the tenancy, keep all communication in writing, and never hand over control of their DPS account or phone when discussing a deposit dispute

25th Jul 2026 (9 weeks ago)Overpriced my house, then reduced it by £25k then 2 weeks later wanted to reduced it a further £20k. Making my house seem unsellable. Communication was terrible. I had to chase for feedback. I made a big mistake using them. What they promise around your dining table is not what you get. I am using a different agent.
