Myself and my partner decided to rent a short term let from Foxtons with the Putney branch. We were never told when moving in there were major issues with the boiler. For 5 weeks we had limited heating and hot water, myself and my partner organised an engineer to have a look at it and the boiler was completely unsafe to use. Now in our 6th week at the property we have no heating or hot water at all. When we brought this to the attention of Foxtons they feel we were OK as we had intermittent hot water and heating!!!??? Let alone the fact we had an at risk and unsafe boiler for nearly 6 weeks!! They have treated us so carelessly it's very disheartening and stressful having to nag such a big branch like this for 6 weeks. The reputation is true, they just want your money upfront and are happy to leave you struggle and drag it out for as long as possible should you have any issues. My partner and I are currently buying a property in London and will NEVER use Foxtons out of principle for the disgusting way we've been treated. They are a complete sham! I would really discourage people from using them if at all possible as our nightmare experience still unfortunately continues and will for another 3 weeks until we move out.... Read more

Beware and avoid at all costs or say bye to your deposit and nerves! These people are systematically there to rip off tenants during and after tenancy. Smiley and friendly Vinoath (who is the only professional person) will be quick and efficient in finding you a flat and getting the move in done. Then the nightmare starts with Natalie and Joanne, who will do anything to blame the customer as opposed to help. The worst is the check-out when Pritesh and team will do anything to get your money/deposit. The company representative told us that rarely do they such a flat in such tidy and clean condition returned as we did. And 3 weeks later we receive a request by Pritesh to pay 400 GBP for 'hooks' on the wall that had been there at move in and a mosquito found in a sink etc after us having done general cleaning. I have copied below the original "deduction sheet" below so you see 1st hand how they work. When asked for invoices for the work done for the 'deductions' they can't present anything, but instead of ever admitting faults on their side will go into e-mail ping pongs with you and your only way out with them is to sue them which we will do ! Good luck to anyone dealing with them! Utterly Bizarre. Booked a viewing with Brandon from these guys. 4 voicemail messages and 6 phone-calls to repeatedly reconfirm a confirmed viewing, plus an email advising us not to be late "As he was very busy and couldn't wait" Arrived at the property on time and Brandon wasn't there A mother with child was waiting. It very quickly became clear that she was also there to view the property. When Brandon did arrive he suggested the 4 of us viewed a one bed all together. We declined and waited for the mother and child to be shown around first. … Whilst looking round we asked the Monthly rate - Not Known Parking Permit Possible - Not Known (With an incorrect explanation of the parking permit process) … Council Tax rate or Band - Not Known As we started to leave another person arrived to view the property so we were asked to stand outside as apparently we were going to be taken to look at another 2 properties as a group. At this stage it was raining. The details of these properties, beyond a road name were unknown. We looked them up online and realised that they did not fufill our (repeatedly stated) criteria. All in all I'd recommend avoiding Brandon as I'd assume the rest of KFH could not achieve the level of incompetence that he did...... Read more

A horrendous experience during Covid 19 lockdown. Needed to leave my current tenancy early due to personal reasons pre-lockdown, so paid £900 in early release fees, agreed a move out date as was told a new tenant was found, and then during lockdown that person dropped out, and then we were expected to continue paying rent on the property, although they needed us out before they could advertise it. They've expected to continue paying our full rent for a property we no longer live in, while also being aware we have to pay rents on our new property, and also being aware of the dire situation of covid and our lack of responsibility for the new tenant dropping out. We have no reassurance that they won't be asking us for rent for the remainder of our tenancy (6 months) and not tell us about finding a new tenant despite the extortionate and frankly arbitrary early release fees. They've been unhelpful and completely uncompromising, even after trying to reach some middle-ground, compromising a discount based on the fact there's no one in the property. It's left us in a really difficult financial situation, that feels heartless and unjust. I'd be very cautious renting from them.... Read more

These guys are the most dishonest agents I have ever had the displeasure of renting a property from. Continuous problems at the property (Drainage/Electricity) which at first they tried to say was our fault. The drainage problem led to a massive leak with raw sewage running down into the living room. Close to 3 months later and still nothing done about it. Didn't even send cleaners round. Have small Children in the house. At every stage Oliver and his team have passed the blame on to the landlord to which I'm sure some lies. This company are happy to take your money but if/when there is a problem they wont lift a finger to help. Currently waiting on the council to do an inspection and issue order to James Anderson to get the required works done... Read more

A thoroughly stressful and unpleasant experience using Laurels. Rob at Laurels repeatedly let us down whilst marketing our property, Was unresponsive, often not responding to calls or emails. We have some suspicions of being misled or worse, lied to, regarding offers received on our property. I should stress these are suspicions at this stage and investigations into this are ongoing. In our opinion, the poor service from Rob at Laurels cost us a perfect home to move into and almost lost the seller of this home thousands of pounds through loss of a deposit. My personal recommendation would be to save yourself the stress and hassle and go with agents with a long track record of excellent customer service. In Epsom, Cairds are a much better agent in my opinion and charge the same fees as Laurels, or Greenfields in the Surbiton area. Please don’t be misled by the notion that Laurels are much cheaper than well established High Street Agents are this certainly wasn’t the case in my experience. My advice, avoid.... Read more
