23rd Aug 2026 (25 days ago)We recently purchased a property through John Wood in Seaton and have to say the team there Beth, Nicki & Hannah went above and beyond for us. We were purchasing an older property which needed a lot of work and was a little out of our comfort zone so we wanted to meet there with surveyors, builders etc to get an idea of what needed doing and John Wood ensured we had all the appointments (property was vacant) necessary for our peace of mind. Literally nothing was too much trouble and made the purchasing process so much easier for us. It was a pleasure dealing with them. Thank you John Wood Seaton. Regards the Reads.

9th Sep 2026 (8 days ago)To phone up asking for a viewing, to be told 'because you got 4 children the house is to small and the landlord wouldn't entertain it.' Surely its up to me if the house is to small. Agents or landlords since may 2026 can not discriminate against people with children. They will be staying with me one night a week for goodness sake.<br><br>Government website states....<br><br>The government’s current guidance is very clear: a landlord or letting agent cannot discourage or prevent someone from renting because they have a child under 18 who will live there or visit. This applies to letting agents acting on the landlord's behalf too.<br><br>DISGUSTING!

As it was our first time in the area, we really appreciated how effortlessly she took us around three different properties while also going above and beyond to show us around and help us get a feel for the place.<br><br>It was an absolute pleasure chatting with her throughout - she was warm, friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely lovely to spend time with. I knew nothing about estate agents or the value of my mothers property but our daughter had recently bought a house via Mayers and said that they were good. We looked up and down the street and out of 5 estate agent boards that were visible 4 were from Mayers. So, with 1 personal recommendation and 80% silent recommendations we decided to go with Mayers. We weren't disappointed. As an aside, during the selling process we had reason to meet our buyers. They also had nothing but praise for Mayers.
