Looking back, I made the mistake of assuming that using the estate agent selling the property I wanted to buy would make the process easier and quicker. It didn't. What I didn't realise at the time was how much difference the right estate agent can make. That difference was Hannon Holmes. From the very first viewing, Gill and Naomi made me feel comfortable, supported and valued. There was no pressure, no sales tactics, just genuine people who cared about helping both buyers and sellers through what can be one of the most stressful experiences in life. One of the best things they encouraged me to do was meet the seller of my new home. At the time I didn't realise how valuable that would be, but it turned out to be one of the most helpful parts of the entire process. It gave me confidence in the purchase, meant I had someone I could contact if I had any questions about the house, and we've actually become friends. Throughout the purchase, Gill and Naomi kept me informed every step of the way. I never felt like I was chasing updates or being left in the dark. They communicated regularly, explained what was happening, and genuinely cared about making sure everything progressed as smoothly as possible. What stood out most was that they saw people, not transactions. They cared about both the buyer and the seller. They listened, they supported, and they always made me feel like I mattered. Buying and selling a home can be overwhelming. There are moments of uncertainty, frustration and stress. Having people like Gill and Naomi in your corner makes all the difference. They are professional, approachable, honest and committed to getting the best outcome for their clients. If you're looking for an estate agent that will genuinely have your back, I would recommend Hannon Holmes without hesitation. I only wish I had chosen them from the very beginning. Thank you, Gill and Naomi, for turning what could have been a difficult experience into a positive one. Your care, communication and commitment did not go unnoticed. 6th Aug 2025 (11 mo. ago)All the agents kept us updated as to the feedback from viewers and eventually when we had an offer on the house unfortunately it took a long time to complete but that was the fault of the solicitors. I cannot fault the Estate Agents

25th Feb 2023 (3 years ago)Have used Ascend for 4 years to manage my flat in Liverpool. During the pandemic they found poor tenants with minimal vetting, carried out no inspections (even after restrictions were lifted). After I made my own inspection I had to alert them to the problems they were missing. When the tenant left my place in an aweful state, their own agent admitted this was terrible. Finally, I received demands from debt collectors for unpaid council tax bills from a void period that the agent never passedon to me. Ascend claim they never received the 3 reminders from the council and refused to take any liability for their mismanagement. I lost £600 in fees and a significant knock to my own credit rating. A large agency that likes to charge management fees but doesn't actually manage. Stay clear - I'm sure there are better options out there!
27th Jul 2026 (3 days ago)My husband and I bought our property from Cousins in June 2026. Great communication throughout. The sale progressor, Natalie Wrigglesworth was amazing. She calmed my thoughts numerous times and was supportive during difficult moments during the process. As first time buyers she really assured us throughout. She was prompt in responding to my emails. Honestly, I felt like she was in my corner there to support me even when reaching out to my solicitor and chasing them up when they were a bit slow in responding. She knew how much the property meant to my family. The customer service was impeccable. Again I highly recommend this agency and definitely Natalie. Also, thank you Georgina Shaw who was the initial contact with the purchase. Thank you so much to Natalie and Cousins Estate Agents. Thank you for making our family dreams come true.

22nd Sep 2025 (10 mo. ago)I once excellent company completely wrecked by its new owners. The company used to be very easy to communicate with, now its easier to communicate with the dead. They use to be polite, but Northwood regard tenants as an inconvenience. I had eight years of good experiences but the ninth is a mess, and its all because Northwood, the new owners, are terrible. It must have taken a lot of effort to transform a great company into one I am now writing a one-star review for on every platform I can find, but they managed it.

1st Jul 2026 (29 days ago)Ok, so this is going to be a tricky review to be positive about. I want to be as honest and helpful to people reading this review, rather than just say I am annoyed at something and give it a one star. If you don’t have much time to read through this, then please read this headline: I massively regret using Thornley groves. They were genuinely awful, barely reached any level of competence, I ended up LOSING money, and it was hugely stressful. I only rented a place. I cannot imagine ever buying or selling with them. Please read the other reviews carefully and don’t dismiss them as I did. I wish you the best in whatever estate agents you choose. This review is my opinion and not meant to affect business with Thornley Groves in any way. OK, on with the detail. First, the good parts. They had a lot of choice and were quick to get me viewings (I did them through video or pictures) and were happy as campers to ‘get me in’ and on their books. Yep, that’s it. That’s all I have. The not so good (not even the worst parts yet). I dealt with the Deansgate (Whitworth street) branch and with an absolutely abysmal person, Peter. If you do choose Thornley Groves and get assigned Peter, do or say whatever you can to work with someone else. I am not sure how to put this without being cruel, but I also owe it to my (soon to be) Manchester neighbours to be honest. This is my honest opinion. Peter is, without a doubt, the worst person I have ever dealt with professionally. Genuinely. That is not even hyperbole. He is inadequate, lazy, afraid of basic tasks, unable or unwilling to do anything even at the bare minimum level, and honestly just embarrassing as a fellow human. He wouldn’t return emails. Ever. In fact, he did but only when it came to sending them money or signing a document. Anything that needed any effort or work, he literally ignored. He is like a toddler but in an adult body. Simply unable to operate at any sort of adult level. I had to call and call and call. I even got the train from London to the office so I could literally use my own mobile phone and dial numbers to connect with others, so he could talk to them. He used my phone because he couldn’t make a phone call for himself. (He also claimed he tried but could never get it to work, but it took me literally three minutes. Genuinely, I have the call log!). He didn’t give me the correct keys to move in. Once we got through it, Peter gave me the front door key and I asked if there were any others. Mail keys, apartment building keys, etc. He assured me no. Literally all keys were needed. It took me 3 weeks and speaking with other people at Thornle Groves to get the window key (still waiting on), apartment building/trash room key, and mailbox key. Even when I collected the keys, I overheard him talking to another person that very day, just before me, saying he gave the wrong keys to him. Also, they don’t tell you who your service providers are. I spent a few weeks tracking down who I need to pay bills to. You are given a list of UK service providers and that’s it, just figure it out for yourself. Lastly, the goodlord referencing company were just as bad as Thornley groves. They sent so many referring emails to my employer (they only need one but sent around 6 over the course of weeks) I had the owner of the company asking me what was going on. They took weeks longer than needed. It cost me around 500GBP in hotels for the delay, and they lied, multiple times about things they were doing. One lie was to say that my company had never replied (even though the owner and head of HR showed me the replies themselves). Thornley Groves chose to use that specific referencing company. Their behaviour also reflects on them. If you have read this far, then fair play, this one was a long review. The thing is, I don’t believe this is a one off. I am not just some random person with a grudge, I am like you. Looking for a new place, wanting it to go as smoothly as possible. I have all my ducks in a row, great credit, good job, charm and charisma (well, maybe not), and it was still a nightmare choosing Thornley Groves and, ergh, dare I say his name, Peter. The abomination they call Peter! I wish I had took the other 1-star reviews more seriously. I thought they were just some disgruntled people and it would be fine. It wasn’t. I deeply deeply regret ever speaking to Thornely Groves.

From the initial valuation through to onboarding, the service has been outstanding.<br>From signing the contract, my property was photographed, all the security checks were completed and the brochure was created and ready to go live in less than 48 hours!<br><br>Christian has been incredible; I couldn't have asked for a better initial point of contact - very friendly, willing to help any way he can and super efficient! I'd also like to mention Natalie, who has also been very friendly, proactive and helpful.<br><br>I'm confident this team will sell my house in no time. Highly recommend!

You could always depend on them to put your mind at ease if you had any questions . There professionalism was second to none .

The staff have been wonderful to deal with, always kept myself updated throughout the whole process putting customer relations and quality first. From the very beginning of my purchase right through to completion, she was absolutely fantastic.<br><br>Buying a property can be incredibly stressful, but she made the whole experience so much easier. She was always proactive in chasing updates from the seller’s solicitors, keeping me informed every step of the way. Whenever I had questions or needed advice, she was always happy to help giving me real confidence throughout the process.<br><br>I felt like she genuinely cared. She regularly checked in with me, often providing weekly and sometimes even daily updates, so I never felt like I was being left in the dark. She went above and beyond to keep things moving and was always willing to chase people on my behalf whenever needed.<br><br>Her professionalism, communication, and dedication made such a difference, and I honestly don’t think the process would have been nearly as smooth without her support. Thank you so much for everything. You’ve been amazing and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone buying or selling a property!

They set my expectations at the beginning, which was good. The process has been a smooth one. They fitted in visits around my shifts. I liked the fact that the viewings were done on one day without me being there (great when you live with a toddler) They have always been prompt in replying to any messages. They have made this part as stress free as possible for me.

17th Jul 2026 (13 days ago)Please stay clear of this company. They are highly unprofessional and have no desire to stand by their own terms and work in a smooth and timely manner. They do not stay updated on any progress when working through a purchase of a property and do not act as if they want to get to completion within their own 60-day terms. I had two occasions on the same property when a mortgage valuation was booked in, and the Jack Senior at Let Property assured me the first would be completed. Once no one turned up at the property to allow access for the valuation, it had to be rebooked, and when I spoke to Jack again he assured me 100% someone would be there. But again, when the valuer arrived at the property no one was there to allow access. Also during the process it would take days, sometimes a week, to get a simple bit of info or just a return call from Jack or anyone at Let Property. They set 60-day completion terms, which I was happy to work to and moved fast on my side, but when they constantly delayed things, it got to the point nothing was moving foward. On top of this, they take a reservation deposit and will not refund it has we are past the 60-day terms even with the delays being their own fault. I would highly recommend staying clear and using any other company. I have found Pure Investor to be very professional, helpful and hardworking to make sure both the seller and buyer are happy and continue to get things moving forward.
25th Jul 2026 (5 days ago)Overpriced my house, then reduced it by £25k then 2 weeks later wanted to reduced it a further £20k. Making my house seem unsellable. Communication was terrible. I had to chase for feedback. I made a big mistake using them. What they promise around your dining table is not what you get. I am using a different agent.
