COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. ZERO STARS. Tied in to a one sided 20 week contract (in their favour) & very little interest from buyers or A & H. Total apathy, they are not the local company we all once knew & loved, in our case for over fifty (yes 50) years & used happily in the past to buy & sell property several times. They are part of a national company called SEQUENCE.
Phone calls not acted upon or promised call backs not made, false statements ('we have people queuing up to buy houses like yours'). Make sure you negotiate the length of your contract & selling commission percentage if you are brave enough to use them.
They are toying with people's dreams & don't seem to give a toss. Neither did their sister company in Weymouth where we are moving to but that's a story for another review.

Wonderful experience with Carrianne in the Frome branch. We're first time buyers and she has made the process so far fun, personable and professional. The viewings were efficient and enjoyable, really focusing on the excitement of buying our first home ????

I wasn’t going to post this, but happened to see Rory Sloan the other day and it made sooooo angry, so I have to share, even though the final decision from the ombudsman was a year ago!

Do not trust Rory Sloan as far you could throw him!
He is despicable! I’d used Allen & Harris twice before to try and sell my house, during Brexit, didn’t work and at the end of COVID, didn’t work again! I’d got to know him for a few years and thought I’d give him another go! I signed the contract, as I had before and he said he’d fill in the rest when he got back to the office! How stupid and trusting was I! He’d been charging 1% previously - when I got the bill when the house finally sold, he’d filled in 1.75% - what a rip off and cost me an extra £7.5K!! He claimed he’s not the cheapest nor would he want to be! Shame their business doesn’t match up to his claim!! I disputed the final bill and went to their compliance department, they found on behalf of their own business (No surprise!!), then I went to the housing ombudsman but they found for their member (they do get over £300k a year in fees from the group of which Allen & Harris are a part so why would they bite the hand that feeds them!) so they are all corrupt and I wouldn’t go near them again especially Rory Sloan who is an awful man…!

We bought our first home this year with support from AK. AK was extremely professional, efficient and thorough. He helped us secure a larger AIP amount as we were inputting some financial information wrong. When we found the property we wanted to buy, AK went above and beyond to not only secure us a good rate, but also followed up meticulously with the sellers estate agents, sorting a few issues with the paperwork required really promptly, which allowed us to go from offer accepted to move date in less than 2 months. AK also sorted all out insurances out for a great price and fantastic levels of cover.
He was always at the end of the phone for my endless list of first time buyer questions and I could not have been happier with the service. If you are questioning whether to use a broker, definitely do as it has made our buying process a breeze. Could not recommend enough and well worth the fee. 10/10.

Once again amazing service 2 years later. I was letting a flat and handed in my notice, 2 days before my move out date the place I was moving too fell through and I was left without a home.
One call to Hannah and she went above and beyond to get everything sorted. A week later and I am in another flat and have a roof over my head. Amazing service every single time I needed to contact or talk to them.
Hannah & Jess were amazing through all this ordeal.

Recently just bought and sold with Allen and Harris Clarkston. Great experience for both.
The service from the full team was excellent. Special mention to Shannon and Emma who couldn’t be more helpful with the entire process. They both made the made the move effortless and we’re always keeping me updated with each stage as it progressed.
