14th Mar 2025 (9 weeks ago)I am certain that Tim Gover and his team got the best price for us for our cottage in Swaledale - and we agreed the sale within two or three weeks of first advertising. Their sales and marketing strategy really worked for us. They took excellent pictures, made a lovely brochure, advertised widely, and were very efficient with the viewings that took place despite the challenging approach to the property and time of year (winter). They kept me informed of all viewings, and all of their staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgable whenever I called the office. I appreciated that the person conducting the viewings was willing to help me turn on the heating when the LPG gas ran out, as I live a couple of hundred miles away. There were quite a few snags along the way to completion, but this was not their fault, and they gave us good advice. They recommended/organised decent local contractors such as tree surgeons and drainage companies. They were prompt in dealing with emails and requests from our solicitor and always took my concerns as a vendor seriously. Tim himself has a great manner, and is very reassuring to chat with. Ours was not a particularly expensive property and yet I felt we got a great level of service. The only negative, not worth losing a whole star over were that the decription of the property for the advertising was not as thorough as I would have liked - and I ended up rewriting it - but that has happened with every estate agent I have dealt with this year (selling three properties with three different agents) so maybe more to do with me than them! Huge thanks to Tim and all the team for getting the best price for our property in an efficient process!

All of the viewing have been done, the offers collated and we have received email and telephone communication throughout the process. We are pleased we chose Reeds Rains, Durham.

When I ask for advice or opinions I receive good trustworthy answers. They have time to talk … no rush. They have helped me every step of the way. They have made the sale of our property stress free. They also keep all those involved up to date to the minute. I would, from my experience recommend Venture Properties Agency, Darlington without question. Top marks!

4th Mar 2025 (10 weeks ago)The state of the house we rented was devastating, we both had complete mental breakdowns. Rats, sewerage, mould, exposed electrics, doors wouldn't close, chimney pot actually fell through our van windscreen and could have killed someone - they denied it was from our house! They lied a lot and took months to sort anything (most things didn't ever get sorted). They seemed lovely people when we first moved in but it didn't last. I was physically sick and crying most the time I was at this property run by Langdales. I've rented for 17 years and never ever experienced anything this bad. 5 star reviews are fakes.

We chose Anthony Jones Properties as they seemed to understand the market, the Darlington area and were prepared to handle everything for us. We were not disappointed. They were very professional and sensitive to our requirements and communications were excellent. 18th Mar 2024 (1 year ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

2nd May 2025 (14 days ago)I had never heard of this estate agents before so was a little wary, however i needed to move quite quickly. The ad was very well described and the pictures showcased the property well. I called to enquire and Olivia was the agent who answered, she was very professional and answered all my questions with ease. Organised a viewing and the agent was always punctual on time and if any issues arose i was emailed promptly. The application process was made very simple and the agents explained the process so i knew what was expected. i was kept informed at all stages via e-mail or phone call and was never left wondering what was happening. Move in day was made so easy again prompt and on time, they explained everything to me and what was expected from both myself and the landlord. I cant fault the company, i hope they continue this professional stance.
