Rory was always just a call or email away when I needed him, and his professionalism and expertise truly stood out. All questions,thoughts, and details were handled with our interest, 1st and foremost. Nicola could not have been more helpful. Her manner and professionalism were obviously clear that she is an expert in this kind of work. The communication could have been a bit better and they could’ve been a bit more forth coming with feedback and an idea of how we things were progressing. Viewings overall were fine, except one agent was late to a viewing! Other than that we have been happy with the support and advice we recieved and would recommend them to others looking to buy.
17th Dec 2024 (30 days ago)Purchased a house with M&M and I can hardly say I’m impressed with the attention to detail. Received my invoice and paid immediately in full on the day of purchase, apparently the cashier had claimed it was £35 short.. no apologies for sending the wrong invoice over and no new receipt of invoice for this alleged fee when I had paid the additional- a very minor display of incompetence compared to what happened next. I moved into my house and my solicitor Shannon had advised me I had 5 working days to notify her of anything not working that would be over £400 to repair, and reminded me to check the heating system, I did and it didn’t work. The property also contained a cellar, for which I did not receive the keys for. When I had notified Shannon of both of my issues I was told “there was no heating mentioned on the home report, therefore I would have to accept it due to it being sold as seen” and “I have asked the seller, she doesn’t have the keys” when I asked for a resolution I was then advised “I have checked the deeds and you do not own or have access to the cellar that is built in to the property” considering this was built in to the house I felt it would be relevant to ask who owned the cellar. The response then started to change to “if I would like access to the cellar I could force entry via a locksmiths and she could put it to the seller to see if they would pay if it was over £400” I’m just washing my hands with the situation now and putting it down to a bad decision to go to Mcdougal and McQueen for the house purchase, hopefully I’ll be able to one day access the cellar within my purchased home . I do not recommend this firm for property purchase.

3rd Nov 2023 (1 year ago)(While the company did finally provide compensation, it's important to note that I still experienced a significant opportunity cost as a result of their actions.) It has undeniably been the most regrettable experience of my lifetime, dealing with a solicitor team that exhibited a severe lack of professionalism and courtesy. Initially, I placed my trust in them based on their positive Google reviews, which now appear to be misleading and have led to significant frustration and inconvenience on my part. The solicitor in question was Shari, who astonishingly took a full year to complete the anti-money laundering check, despite my having submitted all required documents promptly. To compound matters, she repeatedly requested the same information, leading to redundant submissions. Regrettably, she ceased all communication, failing to respond to both my emails and those from the seller's side. My attempts to reach her went unanswered for two months until she seemingly disappeared without a trace. I was dismayed to find myself in such a predicament. In desperation, I enlisted the assistance of the estate agent, who contacted Joni, the National Head of Conveyancing. However, this interaction proved to be equally disheartening, as Joni not only displayed a lack of professionalism but also declined to provide any insight into the unilateral breach of contract, responding in a profane manner. I strongly advise against engaging with this company. As a result of their inefficiency, my funds remained in limbo within my bank account, as I had initially believed they could promptly resolve their business matters. Consequently, I have incurred substantial financial losses due to the failure of Simpson & Marwick to deliver on their commitments.
12th Jan 2025 (4 days ago)We chose Aberdein Considine as they offered the cheapest quote from the 3 companies we contacted. They were prompt in all communications and we felt they worked hard at selling our home. We were particularly impressed with their viewing agents.

28th Oct 2024 (11 weeks ago)This is in relation to the Edinburgh branch. Both my wife and I requested the home report of a property we were interested in. Savills opted not to respond, so we had assumed the report was not ready. Today, only a matter of days later, we phoned to chase and Savills Edinburgh informed us they had a home report ready and shared BUT had a bid in for the property which we were told was accepted. In my view this is blatantly negligent and not acting in their client, the sellers, best interest where multiple parties may have bid.- 12th Jul 2022 (2 years ago)Horrible agency, especially the agent's attitude when calling them. Faked the inventory report when I moved in, everything is a mess when I moved in.

23rd Aug 2024 (21 weeks ago)I used Belvoir to rent my property out for five months whilst I went travelling and I was so impressed and happy with every single staff member I came into contact with, special thanks to Sophie and Katy for finding tenants even though it was a short let and the amazing communication I experienced throughout and the support given by Katy when the tenants proved to be challenging at times was very much appreciated, thank you Katy for your professionalism, your patience, your unwavering support and your excellent communication skills, If I rent my flat out again I want you to look after it for me, I trust you 100%!

Right from my first email contact and initial conversation with Stephen I felt I was in good hands. He is very knowledgeable about the Edinburgh market and his marketing materials were superb. The service provided was impeccable throughout. It was a real pleasure dealing with Stephen and his friendly staff. I would unreservedly recommend him and his firm to anyone considering the sale of their home. A professional quality service where you, the client, truly matter.
