7th Nov 2023 (6 mo. ago)I'm afraid I had a horrendous experience with this company. I am surprised they are still trading. I put in an offer on a property they were selling. Some time later I asked them to re negotiate with vendor for a lower price as my own buyer had offered me £20,000 below my asking price. Approx 1 week later Browns worker phoned me e to say lower offer had been accepted. I was surprised and asked again for clarification as this was a substantial drop in price. I then asked if vendor had been ok with this as I fully expected at very least to be asked to meet in the middle. The worker then said vendor had not been happy but had agreed! I was a little uncomfortable with response but delighted that I could now afford the move with a bit of wriggle room to meet unforseen expenses. I heard no more from browns either by phone, e mail or letter. The first I knew that I had paid £15,000 more for my property than the figure we had agreed by phone was some weeks later on receipt of completion paperwork the day I moved in! I confronted Browns but their response has been unbelievable. Complete denial of the negotiation phone contacts we had and referring me to memo of sale they said they had sent me. In a later e mail communication I was informed that in fact I had been handed this letter in person at their offices. I knew that was untrue as I never visited their office after the initial visit to confirm my identity when initial offer was made. Unfortunately trading standards don't want to know and referred me back to citizens advice. Citizens advice suggested I take it up with solicitor . Solicitor said they knew nothing about a second reduced offer. I am now putting in an official complaint which has to start by going through - yes you guessed it wm h brown! Wish me ????

Sam looked after us and throughout the whole process he kept us updated, he was very efficient and communicated great with all the solicitors and us. And he got us in for Christmas. We would highly recommend Hancock Estate agents without a doubt. Thank you Sam.
23rd Oct 2020 (3 years ago)Absolutely horrible agency to rent from. Got to deal with them against our will, as property we were renting was sold, so Priya took over. We had communal washing machine, it did break and agency did nothing apart from increasing rent. Flat was getting mouldy, priya would not do a thing for a year until we said we are moving out, only then they ve started to move around. Asked for silly things to get cleaned when moving out in order to cut deposit money, for example glass in the oven, despite it wasn't able to do physically as the oven was old and it was not possible to take glass out or open it as it was built in so the middle part between two glass wasn't accessible. They will fight for a single penny and will ask absolutely ridiculous things to do, meanwhile wont help you out at all. When they were showing property to other people they didnt bother about our schedule, even said that is fine to do while we were absent which I strongly disagreed with. Unprofessional, rude, unfriendly.

9th Jun 2021 (2 years ago)They have been swift in getting the photos of the property and have everything advertised online. Viewings were scheduled with due notice and prospective buyers have been identified quite quickly.
25th Apr 2024 (21 days ago)Harvey was looking after our transaction which was a bit more complex than normal transactions. However Harvey provided great support throughout the process and ensured the transaction came to a close with always a positive attitude. Particularly the unbiased support we got from Harvey as buyers towards a short term let due to delays in buying the property was the most helpful. Highly recommend! Thanks Harvey!
