26th Sep 2024 (27 days ago)I'm extremely disappointed with Bridgeford's unprofessional and unethical behavior regarding my security deposit refund. After moving out of Grasmere Gardens 26 days ago, I've been met with complete silence and disregard. Despite multiple emails and calls, no one has bothered to respond or provide any explanation for withholding my deposit. The lack of communication and transparency is appalling. As a tenant, I fulfilled all obligations, including inspecting the apartment before vacating. Bridgeford's failure to refund my deposit is not only unfair but also damaging to my mental well-being. I caution potential tenants against renting with Bridgeford due to their questionable business practices. Their disregard for customers' rights and concerns is alarming. Location: 1 Grasmere Gardens Move out 1st September 2024 Deposit amount:650 Un refunded deposit and lack of communication
5th Sep 2024 (7 weeks ago)Sold my house through Fresh!!! They were absolutely amazing!! We dealt with Paul over a few years, he guided us really well. When we got our product on the market we had viewing booked straight away and had an offer within about a week! The whole team were really friendly and helpful. Would use them again in the future, 100% recommend!!! Thanks to you all :-)
19th Jul 2024 (14 weeks ago)I wasn’t going to write this but I think people should be aware. Back in winter from October to January, I moved into a flat rented by M L Estates. Since the first time I tried to put the heating on, it didn’t work, there was also a leak that’s caused a wide spread of mould into the apartment I was living in. You could clearly tell the issue had been ignored in the past, the door was rotten but had been painted over.This continued the entire duration of my rental period and progressively got worse, with active water coming into my apartment. I reported this back to Kay, and I was always met with hostility, they left me without any form of heating during winter, I could see my breath in the flat, even worse, the apartment had huge windows and a vent in my bedroom letting cold air from the outside in. It was awful, I was told we’ve been an estate agent for 25 years, we can fix a bit of mould, yet nothing was done and there was clearly a history of this kind of problem. I wouldn’t go near this estate agents. They were aware I was estranged university student, yes I had fallen short on rental due date, but given the current climate of the cost of living and being a student in itself, it’s difficult to navigate, this wasn’t met with much understanding, instead a constant hownding “ as she was following the landlord instruction”. My experience was gross negligence, and I would hate for someone else to be in the position. It was only when I googled how long you can leave a person without heating when I realised this situation really was terrible, if I had the funds I would of escalated it, of course they knew that though. I reported this early December, I moved out the very end of January . Just be aware if you are living alone, and don’t have much support, the estate agency is not for you.

Our chain collapsed after about eight months and we were left with ten weeks to find a new buyer and complete or lose the house we wanted. They went above and beyond to get the new sale through in the ten weeks we had.

Every member of the team was brilliant – no matter who we spoke to, they always knew exactly who we were and the latest progress on our chain. We chose JG Sawyers to sell our property based on numerous personal and public recommendations, and it turned out to be the perfect decision. We were also delighted that the house we purchased was being sold through JG Sawyers, which kept the entire chain in-house, making the process even smoother. Being a family-owned and run business, you can really feel the personal touch in everything they do. Their professionalism, communication, and dedication were second to none. It's now been circa 6 months and they refuse to send the confirmation code to the Deposit Protection Scheme. Clearly due the full amount as they never stated within 7 days of tenancy leaving that there would be deductions. Stay away, you would have a better time living in the street than renting through these lot, I know because after leaving that property I spent 3 months homeless.- 12th Sep 2024 (6 weeks ago)Very happy with professional service from professional people. They moved me into a flat with no working plumbing which they knew prior to the start date but neglected to tell me, they ignore emails and texts, their staff gaslight you, they turn up at your home unannounced sometimes letting themselves in and I don't think I've been treated this badly by a company ever. Do yourself a favour and deal with landlords directly. This company is not worth the premium you and the landlord have to pay and they cause more issues than they solve.
18th Mar 2024 (7 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

One particular lady in the Blyth office was a bit blunt and off hand at times but certainly wasn’t all of the time. The lady from Cramlington office was much more pleasant and helpful and I def preferred dealing with and speaking to her. She was very positive in attitude for everything

During the process I found these agents to be helpful, efficient and professional For the most part Owen handled the purchase for us from our first viewing the property through to the completion of the purchase. I found Owen to be particularly helpful and the customer service given by him was exceptional. He kept us updated throughout the whole process I can highly recommend Northwood for anyone wishing to buy or sell property. Thank you all so much Paula
5th Jul 2024 (16 weeks ago)BE VERY CAREFUL!!! Once these lot have your deposit they ignore you. We agreed to buy a buy to let from these and went through the mortgage application with our own agent. We then found out they had overvalued thr property by a fair amount, not allowing us to get a mortgage. We were then told we had to use their mortgage person, which cost us another £300 but we had no option. They also could not get us a mortgage because the value was less than 50k. Upon telling these lot, they are now ignoring our calls, you can't speak to the refund team as only on email, no managers have phones and they won't give us our deposit back even though it states we are entitled to it back for following their stipulations. I'm no being ignored by the salesman Jack and no one will return emails etc. I will be taking this to the Ombudsman too, to highlight this appalling service and blatant overvalued to gain mortgage applicants. They had the same listing on their site for £52,500 and £46,000. We found this after we had agreed a price. So be very careful not to deal with these people. They are rude and have total lack of customer service once they have your deposit. Zero stars from me!!!

25th Sep 2024 (28 days ago)Absolutely appalling estate agents. We were trying to buy a property which was on their books. During the course of our dealings with them, calls were never returned, they told lies, they were clearly too busy or could not be bothered to deal with us and they completely failed to keep their client informed. I have worked with many estate agents over my 30 year career as a property lawyer and I have never encountered such incompetence and rudeness. I could leave a litany of their failures, but suffice to say despite thinking I had found my dream property, I ended up pulling out. I would not even view a property now if it was on their books.
