Paige got us into our new home efficiently and with great communication throughout the process. Couldn't have asked for more really!

1st Aug 2022 (2 years ago)Rented from saints for 2 years and they were awful - impossible to get hold of and very slow at responding to urgent queries such as having a broken boiler. I don't know why they exist other than to take more money off tenants - I can't imagine anything would have been different if we had cut them out the equation dealt directly with the landlord, other than that we would have been financially better off. I've heard that some of the staff I dealt with have left the company since then but I would still advise against renting through this agent.

They managed the sale of a late relative's property for me, and while the process was filled with extreme challenges and delays due to the severe incompetence of the buyers solicitors, Vicky at David James was exceptional. Despite the stressful situation, she handled everything with professionalism and grace. We were working against a tight deadline, and Vicky managed my frequent calls and emails with patience, kindness, and understanding. She went above and beyond to help in a very delicate situation and truly deserves a medal for all she did. A heartfelt thank you to Vicky and the rest of the team for their incredible support over the past five months. You are all superstars. I absolutely recommend David James100%!

Generally the service has been very positive - Kirsty in particular was very helpful, responsive to any queries and flexible at the end of the tenancy. I had some issues with the initial cleanliness of the first property which caused move-in delays, but this was sorted without charge.
1st Sep 2024 (18 days ago)By far the worst company I’ve had to deal with in a long time. You’d think they’d only been in the business for a week. Complete lack of customer service and empathy. “Rex Gooding (owner) 7 hours ago We are sorry that you have been inconvenienced by the fact that we have had to change the lock to the site of 20 garages in Beeston where you occupy 1. We did this due to complaints about unauthorised entry as the previous managing agent had not recovered keys from former tenants. We have given you one month’s notice to collect keys and you failed to do this. Further to this, your recent correspondence suggests that you were responsible for breaking the new lock, which is entirely unacceptable” Reply to Rex: Thanks for your reply Rex, in one fell swoop you’ve reinforced my original review, lack of customer service obviously comes from the top! Maybe you shouldn’t have a drink before replying to customers (assumption based on the fact this reply was received 11PM Friday night)! You are correct in thinking the that reason for this review is the complete mismanagement of the changing the lock to the communal gate enclosing the site of the garages where I am a tenant. If you actually took the time to check your records you will find that I have collected my key. By your own admission you have locked 7 OTHER tenants out of accessing their garage, one of which you have no contact details for, which last time this happened resulted in one lock getting damaged and the other lock had the code maliciously changed preventing access to all. The reason for my correspondence was to point out that your latest action COULD result in the same happening again, giving people 45 minutes notice to collect a key is pretty unreasonable. That is if they get the email, as I pointed out a while ago gmail flags your company emails as spam so there is every likelihood they are not receiving them! The reason I felt the need to post a review was that during this whole saga your company has tried to lay blame elsewhere when it is in fact down to yourselves. YOUR COMPANY has been flagged as sending Spam Emails with google preventing correspondence reaching tenants. YOUR COMPANY failed to compromise in any way requiring tenants to travel to the other side of town to collect keys. YOUR COMPANY distributed keys to tenants without reinforcing the instruction they should not be used until all keys have been collected. YOUR COMPANY gave 45 minutes notice of another lockout to 7 tenants. To top it off YOUR COMPANY is falsely accusing a customer/tenant of criminal damage in a public forum! You couldn’t make this up! But of course, none of this is your fault!

17th Aug 2024 (5 weeks ago)Currently having an awful experience. Our new student house with Nicholas Humphreys has much dirt and dust, including the previous tentants sock. After consulting this with the agency, they told us the house was 'completely habitable'. Responses from them have been taking longer than 10 days, with follow up emails needed to get a response.

Their response was a picture of a hair on a previously stained mattress, a cobweb, hangers left in cupboard which was already left in the property when we moved in. The house was not professionally cleaned prior to moving in. We even had a gas leak at the property. We will be disputing this charge with the deposit scheme. Totally unfair, as you can tell from all the other reviews of them taking absurd deposits.

After consulting this with the agency, they told us the house was 'completely habitable'. This seemed as though they were disregarding the situation. Responses from them have been taking longer than 10 days, with follow up emails needed to get a response. EDIT: After 27 days from the initial email, our issue was resolved swiftly by another team member, who sent a clear and satisfactory update on the changes made. It seems that the lack of communication was the main issue.

We have received an apology for these. We are grateful to the agency for finding new tenants, but in light of our experience, have decided to manage the property ourselves

We had tried to sell 2 years ago, but due to a number of issues decided to take our house off the market and tentatively came back onto the market with some anxiety in April 2024. From the moment Graham came to provide us with a valuation and an exact marketing plan we have been really happy with the service from start to finish. Their communication is informative but not too excessive, which we had found previously. We were treated with professionalism and a personalised service. Being provided with advice and support at those key moments, whilst being listened to, which was not our previous experience with another agent. Kieran, our Sales Negotiator, assisted with the planning of viewings and negotiated with interested parties for us which resulted in us getting a higher price than we were anticipating. Sam B, Senior Sales Negotiator, then assisted us every step of the way for our sale and fought our corner, using her persistence in getting the completion date agreed by all parties, when no one else was taking the lead. No question was too small and our anxiety moments from our previous experience were soon put at ease by the knowledge and friendly approach all the team had. We cannot thank the team enough and we are now very happy in our forever home.

31st Aug 2024 (19 days ago)Warning to new tenants: fill in your inventory as thoroughly as you can on move in as they will try to deduct as much as they can from your deposits on move out. Similar to other reviews: the House was very dirty with heavy wear and tear on move in. Unfortunately another company willing to make as much money as possible from people who come to them for somewhere to live :(
