Absolutely fantastic service from all the team at Abbotts. Pat was so friendly and up front about all the costs and explained everything to us so we knew the whole process :) Rebekah was so wonderful and helped us out so much through the process of selling and buying our forever home. All our questions and queries were answered quickly and efficiently and they were always so willing to help !!

My Wife and I recently bought a house through Abbotts Ely and from start to finish we couldn’t have had a more stressful and exasperating experience. I’ve read quite a few reviews and most have said “excellent service, treated like a valued customer, great communication” but unfortunately our experience was as far from these statements as possible. David started our house purchase journey with lack of communication, ignoring our emails and questions and we grew very tired of having to ask the same questions on several occasions to bet met with yet more lack of response. Our vendor’s situation was not the most simple, however, on several occasions we were promised a weekly update on the situation and yet again no response from Abbotts Ely was received. To that end we complained and Pat took over our purchase. I thought this would be a good move and having the “Area Manager” on the case would make sure we were moving forward. Again we were promised a weekly update, accompanied by the promise of pushing the purchase through as quickly as possible but we were hit with false promises and lies on numerous occasions yet again! Admittedly the recent COVID-19 pandemic did slow things down a little and this was completely understandable, however, when we were promised an update from the “Area Manager” after he had spoken to the Company Directors on how best to move this purchase forward we still had to chase several times with emails just to be told they were pushing for the purchase to go through as quickly as possible. We had to chase absolutely every request time and time again just to simply get nowhere.
Then came moving day, we had some issues with the other parties time keeping, to which we informed Abbotts who did absolutely nothing to try and move the situation forward resulting in my Wife and Dad having to complain face to face at the Ely office. They were confronted with a member of staff best described as a “wet drip of a bloke” who didn’t know what to do or indeed understand our situation.
For a business that relies on the general public for their existence, they showed complete disregard for communication and professional working practices. We were promised weekly updates; that didn’t happen. We asked for situation reports; nobody ever got back to us without us having to chase several times to be told “we’ll find out and get back to you” starting this merry-go-round of trying to get someone to answer emails and return our calls.
I can see so many reviews which state how well all of these principles were done in other peoples purchases, however, our experiences with Abbotts Ely was a complete nightmare and littered with incompetence and lies, both of which we didn’t expect from reading the reviews before we started our process.
In short, I firmly believe this to be one of the worst customer service experiences we have ever had.
