14th Jul 2026 (14 days ago)I've now dealt with Pocock & Shaw as both a buyer and a seller, and my experience has been excellent on both counts. Magnus in particular has been a stellar agent, combining real professionalism with genuine, attentive support throughout. What could easily have been a stressful process was made to feel straightforward and well-managed at every stage, from the first conversation through to completion.<br><br>Credit is also due to the wider team, who were consistently responsive, helpful and professional whenever I needed them. It's clear this is a firm that values its clients and takes pride in getting the details right.<br><br>Having been looked after so well as both a buyer and a seller, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pocock & Shaw, and I'll happily be sending a few friends their way in the near future. Highly recommended.
20th May 2026 (10 weeks ago)Don't bother to clean up too much, no matter how hard you try they will still charge you hundreds of pounds. After living at one of their properties for just 6 months, I handed over the house as clean as I got it but they still charged me £560 for deep cleaning. 28th May 2026 (9 weeks ago)Our experience trying to sell our property with William H Brown was extremely disappointing and ultimately quite disastrous. Before we signed with them, the team were highly proactive in their communication and sales pitch. We were promised consistent outreach to potential buyers, regular updates, detailed analytics, and valuable insights throughout the sales process. Unfortunately, the reality after signing the contract was completely different. Communication quickly became poor and reactive rather than proactive. We repeatedly found ourselves having to chase the team for updates and manually intervene to ensure viewers were actually being followed up with after property visits. In several cases, it appeared that little-to-no meaningful follow-up had been carried out unless we specifically requested it. There also seemed to be a lack of organisation and visibility around prospective buyers. The team often appeared unsure about where leads were in their decision-making process, whether further conversations had taken place, or what objections buyers may have had. This left us feeling as though there was no clear sales strategy or ownership of the process. Given the fees involved, we expected a far more professional, engaged, and proactive service. Instead, we were left feeling frustrated, unsupported, and lacking confidence that our property sale was being managed effectively. In the end, after a few months with WHB and no real leads for the sale of our house, we ended up going with another local estate agents who sold our house within a month. Overall, we would not recommend William H Brown based on our experience.

He has always been approachable, honest and professional, taking the time to keep us informed and answer any questions we had. We never felt pressured, and his communication has been excellent, particularly during what can be a stressful time.<br><br>We also really appreciate the work of the sales progression team, especially Kelly and Neave, who has been proactive in keeping everything moving and explaining the next steps as we progress towards exchange.<br><br>Buying and selling a home can be an emotional experience, but Cheffins have made it feel organised, transparent and well managed. Their local knowledge, professionalism and genuine care for their clients really stand out.<br><br>A huge thank you to Joe, Adam, Jack, Dan, Kelly, Neave and everyone at Cheffins. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to buy or sell a home in the Ely area.

18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

7th Jul 2026 (21 days ago)We have recently purchased our new home in Waterbeach and wanted to say a massive thank you to all the girls in the office for the amazing support they provided and made the transaction a lot easier than it would have been had we left all details in the hands of the agents selling our old home. We sold our old home through Hockey’s in Willingham and would still be waiting for details even now weeks later as the feedback was slow or non existent,, not sure we even had a completion phone call on the day of the sale.<br>Our new home was bought through Gray and Toynbee, Waterbeach office and all we can say is a massive thank you and in particular Angel, all details were shared on time throughout the entire process and she made it all a whole lot easier. I would recommend Angel as an agent to anyone looking to buy a property, amazing job done and a total asset to the company.<br><br>Thanks again

She helped me secure a house in less than 2 weeks and made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. Kelsey was incredibly responsive, communicated exceptionally well, answered every question thoroughly (even the dumb ones), and made sure every need was taken care of from start to finish. Her professionalism and dedication truly stood out to me, and it made me want to go through this particular letting agency. To be quite honest, she deserves a promotion!
