I found them to be very professional, knowledge and they have me some great tips in order to finally sell my home. We went ahead with Big Black Hen and there suggestions and hey presto, our house sold. Ive since recommend Big Black Hen to my friends and family. Great service

12th Aug 2026 (7 weeks ago)1 star. I used Lane and Bennett to let and manage my property and would not use them again.<br><br>Communication was the first problem. I was constantly chasing them for updates and rarely got them without pushing. When they found new tenants I had to chase repeatedly just to find out whether the tenant had actually moved in. Getting hold of them by phone was a job in itself, as calls frequently went unanswered.<br><br>Throughout the tenancy there was a steady stream of maintenance issues, and on nearly every one I was steered towards their own contractors rather than being given a genuine choice. Tiles were cracked and it took repeated chasing over a long period before I was reimbursed.<br><br>The handover back to me was the worst of it. The property was returned filthy. The garden was unkept, the front driveway was unkept, there were burn marks in the carpets, the carpets had not been cleaned, and furniture was damaged. I had been charged for an inventory, yet none of this was properly recorded in it. An inventory that fails to capture obvious damage offers a landlord no protection at all.<br><br>The overall experience was of an agent that collected its fees, did not keep me informed, did not look after the property, and did not act in the landlord's interest. If you are a landlord considering them, be prepared to get your property back in a materially worse condition than you handed it over, and to do most of the chasing yourself.

Selling a property can be stressful, but Peter made the entire process smooth, straightforward, and even enjoyable. He was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly throughout. Nothing was ever too much trouble — he consistently went above and beyond at every stage. Whether it was keeping me updated, answering questions quickly, or handling unexpected challenges with total confidence, he exceeded every expectation I had. What really stood out was his dedication and work ethic. He didn’t just do his job — he truly cared about getting the best possible outcome for me. I can genuinely say he is light years ahead of any other estate agent I’ve ever dealt with. If you’re looking for someone reliable, proactive, and exceptional at what they do, Peter is the one. I’m so grateful for everything he did and wouldn’t hesitate to use him again or recommend him to anyone.

The process wasn't easy (a lot of bumps in the road) but Rosie was proactive and reassuring and we got there in the end! The rest of the team are great, and Naomi also went above and beyond when I had a issue. Thanks so much team!

At every stage of the process they were helpful, and went out of their way to build a good relationship between buyers and sellers which worked to everyone's advantage-- especially as in this case the sellers will be our future neighbours. We had very well arranged zoom calls and resolved timing issues to do with stamp duty, moving dates, etc. We couldn't be happier with the outcome and we are very grateful to Sophia and the team.

We got great advice about our potential buyers and situations so we could accept the best overall offer for us. Alex kept us informed throughout the whole process and we wouldn’t hesitate to sell through them again and recommend others to use them.

Vicki and Helen have supported us through the process and been instrumental in making it quick and straightforward. They had viewers lined up before our house went on the market resulting in it selling on the day it went live!<br><br>Family members had also recently made a purchase through VLS, and we had been extremely impressed with the professionalism and knowledge Helen had when showing that property.<br><br>We made use of the complementary mortgage advice from VLS Mortgages and Kirsty has been brilliant, providing all the advice we needed and quickly updating our mortgage offer when rates briefly came down. Charlotte was also great in explaining our life insurance options and securing the policy for us.<br><br>We would not hesitate in recommending VLS to anyone looking to sell their property!

5th Aug 2026 (8 weeks ago)One call undertook a complete refurbishment of my one bedroom flat - new kitchen, bathroom, lights, doors, plaster work, redecorating. Super reliable and high quality job pretty much on time (the heatwave slowed work a few days which is understandable). No nasty surprises when a couple of unavoidable issues popped up and I made a few new choices - I was always fully aware of cost and timetable. Highly recommended.

The service I have received has been outstanding and I am impressed with the “due diligence” they have undertaken. Giving the changing legislation affecting landlords, I feel confident that IW Estates will ensure compliance with the law. I also expect that my tenants will have confidence that issues arising with the property they are renting will be dealt with in a timely manner. My point of contact is Ellie Smith and she has been outstanding in terms of advising me, creating new tenancy agreements and meeting my tenants. I know that she is supported by others in IW Estates and my thanks go to them as well as to Ellie. In summary, in my view, a highly professional Company who do everything “by the book” and deserve to do well in the highly competitive lettings business.
