Bridgfords Macclesfield were worth their weight in gold. A reassuringly safe pair of hands. The staff were professional, reliable, efficient and most kind and caring. James arrived to value our property; a most personable young man who gave us a realistic figure, which we were instantly happy with. He went to great lengths to explain his calculations and what our expectations of achieving the asking price would be. He was on the mark; we achieved the full asking price. The whole process was overseen from start to finish by Pauline; due to unforeseen circumstances, the chain broke fourth down the line, and took much longer to complete than anyone had anticipated. Pauline kept us up to date with affairs, gave us good sound advice along with her honest opinion when decisions had to be made; she had a most calming influence over proceedings when it was needed and a cracking sense of humour to lighten events. She was just utterly brilliant. Every office should have their very own Pauline. We are so pleased we did not choose a DIY estate agent - Bridgfords were worth every penny!

Couldn't have dealt with a bigger bunch of thieves. Firstly we couldn't view the property as we where living abroad at the time and my first question was if the property had double glazing since I knew there was a club very close by and was concerned about the noise. At this point I should have walked away but they started by lying and saying they thought it was closed, even though I was clear I already knew it was there.
Then came moving in to find the flats main radiator was broken, the place was a mess (despite them constantly telling us it had been 'deep cleaned' another clear lie) and 20+ broken lightbulbs. I then went on to find the radiator that did work was by the door that fit so poorly it did nothing to warm the flat as the heat went straight out the door, also the bathroom tap dribbled to the point of not working, the extractor in the bathroom wouldnt work, the smoke detector was broken (this is illegal) and the oven wouldn't heat up more than 180.
Complained about all this, told it would be repaired. Someone came to repair the bathroom extractor, NOTHING else. Complained, told someone would come out, nothing.
Moving out a year later, would have moved a second earlier if I could, and NONE of the issues have yet to be fixed. Despite sending countless emails and highlighting this is a breach of contract and illegal in the case of the smoke detector. Every time I was told right we will send someone out and then nothing happened. They just want you to shut up and hang up. Event went in person a few times and they try and make you feel like you are being the pest. A functional heater is NOT being a pest, its essential especially over winter.
Another small example of them trying to make you feel small whilst weasling out of responiblity is I do not have access to my water and electricity meters and need a key to get into another door. I was told my neighbours all have keys and just ask one of them when I need a reading with a tone of me being a pest. Mm.. if my neighbours all have keys why do I not have one?
I will never deal with them again and after telling a friend they have shared similar experiences, such as when buying they were told the current occupier would be willing to move out sooner, but when speaking to them directly they said they needed more time not less! His summary is they would tell you anything to sign on that dotted line.
Avoid like the plague!
Update: When moving out I was put in touch with Amanda who I had not dealt with during my tenancy. Everything she has done has been great and she does seem to genuinely care. She has also told me that the people I have dealt with had been fired during the move to the new office (which I can confirm is true) and she helped with me issues around my deposit. Also as soon as she heard about the smoke alarm she did come around with a new working one.
She has asked me to edit this review which i am happy to do for her sake however my original review still stands since her being good at the end doesn't change what I went through during the tenancy. She has pointed out some of these issues are to do with the landlord but since I could only talk through Bridgfords who failed to communicate anything like this to me and should be more careful with their choice of landlords if these issues arrise I still think this review applies.
