The entire process was transparent and clear, with no grey areas. Having had a different experience with another agent in the past, I knew I would appreciate this. John not only spent a lot of time on the central aspects of the purchase, but also supported me with the preliminaries (e.g. finding the right insurance). Thanks also to the whole team. 10th Jun 2026 (8 weeks ago)Our experience with HomeLink has been extremely negative.<br><br>We returned the keys on 14 May 2026 and recorded a video at the time of handover as evidence. Despite this, we were later told that the keys had only been returned on 2 June 2026. We have evidence showing otherwise.<br><br>When we rented the property, we were informed by Zach that there were no damp or mould issues. However, during our tenancy we experienced significant damp, mould and moisture problems throughout the property, particularly during the winter months. My wife and child developed asthma-related health problems, and we have supporting medical evidence.<br><br>We moved out on 30 April 2026 and were preparing to move into another property. During this process, HomeLink provided a negative reference, stating that rent payments had been late. We had already informed them in writing that my salary payment date had changed and requested that the payment date be adjusted accordingly. Despite this, the issue was not resolved.<br><br>HomeLink has withheld our £2,015 deposit and has attempted to charge rent for a period when we were no longer living in the property. We have written communications showing that we informed the agency in advance about leaving the property.<br><br>We feel that we were treated unfairly throughout this process. We have retained emails, messages, video recordings and other evidence and have started legal proceedings regarding these matters.<br><br>Potential tenants should carefully document all communications and thoroughly inspect any property for damp and mould issues before signing a tenancy agreement.- 19th Jul 2026 (16 days ago)I’m genuinely surprised I’m giving this estate agent any rating at all.<br><br>I want to start by saying that Pete was excellent. From the very beginning, he was professional, approachable, and genuinely helpful. He consistently answered all of our questions clearly and patiently, no matter how small, and made sure we always understood what was happening at each stage. He kept communication flowing both ways, regularly updating us and ensuring we were kept in the loop, which made a huge difference. When things slowed down, he reassured us and made it clear that it was out of our hands, which helped reduce a lot of the stress and uncertainty. He made what is already a stressful process feel much more manageable, and he is the only reason this review isn’t even lower.<br><br>Unfortunately, once Mark took over, the experience changed completely.<br><br>Towards the end of the purchase, I felt under constant pressure to exchange contracts immediately. It wasn’t the decision itself that felt rushed — I was always going to buy the property — but there were important final steps that needed to be completed first, including last-minute financial checks that my solicitors needed time to look into. Despite this, Mark was unwilling to wait.<br><br>Rather than offering support or explaining the situation calmly, he spoke to me in a rude, dismissive, and confrontational tone. He repeatedly made it seem as though the seller was going to pull out unless I exchanged there and then, and even went as far as saying that the vendor was a former estate agent and that if I didn’t exchange immediately, it wouldn’t make much difference to them. This felt like a clear attempt to pressure me into rushing something that required proper due diligence.<br><br>Whether that was genuinely the seller’s position or not, it felt like I was being pushed into making one of the biggest financial decisions of my life without being given the space to ensure everything was in place.<br><br>That conversation left me in tears. Buying a home should be an exciting milestone, but instead I was left feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and intimidated. No buyer should be made to feel that way.<br><br>The whole interaction came across as though the priority was getting the sale completed as quickly as possible rather than ensuring both parties were comfortable and informed. It gave the impression that getting the deal over the line was more important than providing good customer service, and it made me question whether unnecessary pressure was being used to speed up the exchange.<br><br>To make matters worse, the experience didn’t improve on completion day. After receiving a call to collect the keys, we arrived at the office expecting at least a warm welcome after months of dealing with the purchase. Instead, there was simply a single key left in an envelope on the reception desk, and we were told, “It’s there on the desk.” There was no congratulations, no greeting, no effort to make what should have been a memorable moment feel special. Mark, who had called us to collect the keys, was nowhere to be seen. It perfectly summed up the level of customer service we experienced by the end of the process.<br><br>In the end, we got the house we wanted, and that’s what matters most. However, the service we received during the final stages was genuinely terrible and added a huge amount of unnecessary stress to an already stressful process.<br><br>Based on my experience, I would not recommend this estate agent. If it hadn’t been for Pete’s professionalism at the start, this review would have been half a star without hesitation.

Their team were consistently professional, proactive and easy to deal with, and they took a lot of the stress out of the process. Communication was a real standout as we were kept updated at every stage and any questions we had were answered quickly and clearly.<br><br>We also found the team friendly and approachable, which makes a big difference during what can be a stressful time. We always felt they were acting in everyone’s best interests rather than just trying to push a quick sale. Based on our experience, we would be very happy to use Breens again and would confidently recommend them to anyone looking to buy a property.
16th Jan 2022 (4 years ago)Had an amazing afternoon tea experience. It is very expensive, but worth it if you are on a vacation or special trip! You get refills of all sandwiches/scones/pastries included in the price. I asked for extra scones to take home with me to my hotel for breakfast the next morning (they were the best scones I’ve ever had with delicious clotted cream and jam) and they happily did so in a beautiful packaged box - at no extra charge. The food and service are top notch

My husband & i were looking for a flat & were ready to move the soonest possible. Carolina was so kind to offer us what was available that best suited our funds & needs. Pannay was also prompt to usher & guide through the flat viewing, he also was quick to give us updates from the landlord which was on our favor. Whilst in the process of submitting our documents, we had a family health emergency. This caused us to withdraw our offer as we needed to prioritize our family’s safety. Pannay was so sympathetic & had given us time to sort things out, however we opted not to push through still. All of the agents who assisted us were utmost kind & understanding of our situation. They kept us reassured all throughout the process & also had refunded us our holding deposit. All hands up & respect to the team as the benevolence of service they’ve shown us were really true to their company’s mission & vision. Again, Thank you Pannay , Carolina & Millie.

18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

9th Jul 2026 (26 days ago)Do not waste ur time if ur black skin they will refuse u they are racist attended a viewing no one else even was there to view it the whole house was empty full of rooms and they lied and said other people got accepted only for them to send me the same viewing in a email days later for. Viewing at the same house by accident because they thought I was someone else and they was clearly desperate to get someone to rent it they did it even ask for any references or anything of what I’m entitled to nothing just jumped to conclusion straight away and ur if reading this dont waste ur time like I did complete racisim
