I rented a flat for 6 years from Reed Rains.My local branch was the Eccleshall branch who were excellent from the day I arrived to the day that I left. Nicola-Jane Dyson was my contact at the branch who looked after any queries and problems that occured for me.Nothing I asked her was ever too much trouble for her to sort out for Me.Also I found her polite and respectful and always happy and jovial..I loved me time in Eccleshall and if I ever decide too move back wouldn't hesitate in calling in about a property.

I sold a rental property with Gemma Bellamy's team in Jul 25, with Reeds selected after meeting Victoria, who was pretty much the only useful person I dealt with, but sparingly available.<br><br>Key issues:<br>- Negotiation was shockingly bad. Their approach was the standard "open house - here's your best offer" after 1 day of viewings. Little interest in negotiation/doing further viewings after. A somewhat satisfactory offer was only obtained further down the line when they were pushed into a corner to do this or lose the business.<br>- Poor progression skills. Maisie: amazingly bad at just about anything she touched. Cheryl: excellent at appeasing and then doing nothing of consequence after.<br>- Work is outsourced; this is used as an explanation as to why branch staff are clueless about your case<br>- Expensive for the quality of service. Another rental completed in half the time and at a competitive price by Hunters<br>- There was an entire day when no one was around to pick up the phone due to staff shortages<br>- The ability to successfully navigate curveballs associated with buyers in the area was a key concern discussed pre-selection and confirmed as a skillset. There was no apparent interest in tackling these when they arose.<br><br>In summary, a very substandard team overseen by a very substandard branch manager. I believe any other Hillsborough estate agent would do a better job of selling a house and at a lower cost.<br><br>EDIT: These concerns were raised repeatedly over the phone and e-mail. The fact that Josh is a lettings employee commenting on the performance of a sales team he doesn't belong to is an excellent example of how poor the sales team is at their job. I've attached some screenshots from just the tail end of a 5 month dragged out process seeing as "you have no record of these concerns". Loads more where that came from.<br><br>In further updates this morning, Josh claims that the team is human and has to start somewhere and that they've all magically improved to market leading standard over the last year. So if you'd like to wager the proceeds of your house sale on Josh's charity cases, look no further than Reeds Rains Hillsborough.

????? Outstanding support when things got difficult
I first contacted Reeds Rains – previously at 16-18 Moorgate Street, now at Wickersley Rotherham in March 2024 to help me find a flat. From the start, I was told the landlord would manage the property. I thought it would make no difference whether it was managed by the agent or landlord, but it turned out to be a terrible experience all through my stay of over two years.
What impressed me most was that the team stood by me from beginning to end, even when issues arose over my deposit. They guided me step-by-step and helped me successfully recover my full deposit plus overpaid rent — something I could not have done without their support.
A special mention for Abby — even though she is no longer with the company, her hard work, resilience and dedication were truly noticed and appreciated. I also want to say the Accounts Department was absolutely amazing — efficient, helpful and always there when I needed them.
Thank you to every member of the team. I couldn't remember names, the branch manager and other staff members was brilliant. You turned a very stressful situation around and showed real care for your tenants. I highly recommend this office.

Dreadful experience of Reeds Rains.<br>When valued by David who was lovely, friendly and professional we were informed that we would have no problem selling our house. Here we are nearly 4 months later after only 4 viewings where nobody was in a position to proceed. It has come to light that they over value your property. They offer very little advice, attention to detail and communication is poor. Then when I informed them I was unhappy with the service and wished to leave them they state I have to give 28 days notice before I can re advertise with another agent, but they take it off the market after 20 days without informing me. Im sorry but I do not feel they go out of their way to sell your property hence the number for sale through them around our area. All clearly overpriced. I did deal with a lovely lady one weekend, but my main contact was with Jack who just said "we will move your photos around and send your house to new people on our books" every time I spoke to him. Then proceeded to talk rubbish about nothing of any value saying things will pick up after the school holidays which is rubbish as very few houses have sold where I live.<br><br>There seems to be really positive reviews around two ladies who work there, but unfortunately I haven't had any contact with them or this review may have been very different. I have been generous giving two stars but as David was great and the weekend lady 1 star didnt feel fair

I'm very happy with Reeds Rains in Glossop. All the staff, especially Laura, were very helpful and dealt with my sale professionally. There were a few delays and small hiccups which Laura did a great job of managing on my behalf. I would definitely use them again.
