14th Jun 2025 (2 days ago)Unfortunately after careful consideration I have decided to speak out. A week ago following a phone call where I enquired about a property and was duly qualified by a lovely lady called Daisy, then booked a viewing for yesterday. This particular property is in need of restoration so Daisy and I had a lengthy conversation about it. I then called a few days later to ask if I could bring along my builder and surveyor which was agreed with no issues. I then moved my meetings and booked myself half a day off work and my builder had to re arrange meetings to be there too . At almost 5pm on the eve of the viewing (yesterday)I missed a call from the estate agents and no voicemail was left. I called and was then put through to Jay. He quickly informed me he had completed a sale “just now” on the property. At no point in the lead up to the viewing was this made clear that it was under offer. I have waisted everyone’s time and it just doesn’t feel quite right. I have unsubscribed from their mailouts and won’t be returning to Jackson-Stops, as I just won’t work under that type of partnership. I have just re reviewed this feedback as I was really surprised and pleased to receive a call from Jay the following day based around this review. We had a good open conversation and agreed it would have be helpful to have known there were offers on this property, we both had a better understanding of my frustrations and agreed to keep in touch should anything change. Honest and straightforward assessment of value, and feedback from viewings, professional response from everyone in the team who showed consideration for our situation selling the house from a distance . Their strapline "having someone on your side" really is true thats how you feel.
8th Dec 2024 (6 mo. ago)We had a mixed experience with Preston Baker. We chose them for their reviews online and at first contact with the Doncaster office they were quick to reply and tried moving our sale along promptly. Then our agent suddenly stopped communicating and when we tried contacting them we found out she had left but no one informed us. This happened a couple of times. Our house was eventually assigned to Terry Burrows (Leeds office) and she was good to us. She took care of our sale for almost a year until the end, even after two potential buyers dropped off and issues with the house made our sale more complicated. Sadly by then the market had changed and we weren’t able to sell for the value we had hoped for. Not sure if I would recommend the Doncaster office. I would recommend Terry for sure. (Terry, if you are reading this thank you for persevering with us and for helping us get a decent price in a difficult selling process)

She communicated consistently to keep me up to date, was proactive with her engagement with the buyers and helped me on several occasions with items at the home, (which was very helpful as I cannot get back to the property easily). Thanks for everything Ellie & Clare!

There was much interest initially and viewings booked however there were alot of cancellations. The photographs were great and the literature comprehensive. It took almost 5 months to sell and I accepted a much lower price in order to complete.

26th May 2022 (3 years ago)The unique service offered by Griffin has enabled me to complete a DIY sale of my home on the Internet using national property sale platforms as if I was the website. I listed my property at 8am and by 9.30am on the same day I was receiving emails from potential purchaser's. I well know the power of the Internet, but even I was surprised by the speed of it all. The Griffin team have the power to listen and assist you, I wish to thank the person at Griffin who originated this professional service and his team for doing a great job. If I ever need to sell a home in future I will immediately use the Griffin service and have been recommending them to family and friends. Thank you.
9th Jun 2025 (7 days ago)I rented with them for 1 year and they are genuinely the worst I’ve ever seen. When I went to move in on first day the entire flat was still full of old tenants belongings and was still filthy. They then said they can’t come in and clean once I take the keys. I had no option but to take them as I had no where else to go and they offered no part refund for delaying my move in. I had to foot the bill for removals and cleaning. Then they still entered my flat after I had moved in and took the TV from the old tenant and nothing else, even though they said they couldn’t come back to clean. They also did not change the locks after I had moved in and the old tenant came in while I was in the shower and started saying she is calling the police. Then after all this, and offering me nothing, they charged me to clean the flat after I had left even though they had never cleaned it for me…. They couldn’t be any worse

There is no communication between those who work at Alexander Jacob and even less with clients. Personal experience as a buyer - lost thousands as a result of the incompetence and lack of accountability. BEWARE
