Dee and her team provided more viewings in a week than we’d had in 6 months with another agent, and a special mention for Emily who was so kind and patient with my mother who suffers with Alzheimer’s disease, thank you Emily. When we accepted an offer on the apartment Dee was wonderful liaising with solicitors and the purchaser through the whole process until completion. Thank you all for such wonderful service.

ES were '...great for landlords, but if you're a renter, beware'. If further proof as to ES's misguided allegiance to landlords was needed the reviewer went on to say 'When moving out, expect them to nitpick and try to charge you unfairly'. To a casual observer of the review it probably smacked of ES deploying practises that Peter Rachman would have condoned and embraced. Great news for landlords but not for poor beleaguered tenants. In the light of an ombudsman's findings this week it would be remiss not to keep the five 'Thumbs Uppers' (those supporting the 'One Star Review' and the assertions of tawdry practises at ES) up to date with what's happened. They might want to look away now. And gently withdraw their thumbs? But first, let's go back to one of the claims made by the disgruntled reviewer. 'Despite hiring professional cleaners, they (ES) falsely claimed we hadn’t cleaned at all'. And now, verbatim, the ombudsman's findings below. 'However, the more detailed and dated check out report illustrated the extent of the staining to the carpet of bedroom 2, additional staining to the lounge carpet, areas of the bathroom, kitchen and its appliances, as well as a number of cleaning issues to numerous surface areas and woodwork around the property. • While I note the provision of the cleaner’s PLI overview, it is for the tenant to ensure the property is cleaned to the required standard and arrange for any re-cleans with their cleaner, where required. • For these reasons it is reasonable to award for cleaning of the property because it was returned in a worse condition than it was let. • The letting agent is claiming £345.00 and has provided an estimate to this effect, which the cleaner states in the estimate is based on the contents of the check out report. • Noting those minor issues present at the start, I award £305.00 towards property cleaning'. And one final time for those that may have missed it .....'because it was returned in a worse condition than it was let'. Do try and keep up at the back because you seem to have struggled with 'the actualite'. Oh, and looking after the place.

10th May 2025 (5 weeks ago)This is a genuine review, unlike so many others, following the successful sale of two properties within the past twelve months. Both properties were sold by Cotswold Estate Agents of Bishops Cleeve Cheltenham on behalf of myself and my wife. The service received by both my wife and myself in selling each of our individual properties was excellent from the time that they went on the market to completion. The presentation of each property in terms of advertising, was as we would wish and we were kept informed by Simon and Sharon of progress throughout the selling process. Both transactions proceeded satisfactory without any undue concern. Accompanied visits with prospective buyers were arranged with our prior knowledge( both properties being vacant at the time) and feedback was provided. From our joint experience Cotswold Estate Agents are highly recommended in alleviating some of the stress when either buying or selling a property.

20th Feb 2025 (16 weeks ago)We have let two houses with Peter Ball lettings, one for 11 years and the other for 7 years and they have provided an excellent service to us over this period. In the last year Tess Ashmeade has been the Property Manager in Cheltenham and has been wonderful. She answers all queries quickly, efficiently and has an excellent nature. She is polite, helpful and liaises with both us and the tenants effectively. It is a delight to deal with her, she is an excellent ambassador for Peter Ball.

25th Feb 2025 (15 weeks ago)I have rented a property through CJ Hole Cheltenham for almost two years, and they have been exceptional. Originally, we were hoping to find something with cheaper rent, but the location and beauty of the Victorian flat left us smitten. The service CJ Hole has provided us has made me wonder why I even considered turning it down. I have rented a few times via different companies each time. I have never had a company and landlord be so helpful: From flat problems to a great handyman, to support with neighbours (or random issues inevitably that come up), to regular property checks for everything. They have accommodated every need, an example being replacing the shower head and glass pane so it supported a disability. With it being a Victorian flat, it of course means it’s colder/not as energy efficient, and ‘noisier’ due to thinner walls/floors/ceilings (I thought it was less noisy than living in a semi), but it is so spacious, stunning, homely, and so much more. Our landlord even carpeted part of the flat to help with noise and warmth - which I have never heard of before and thought was just beyond helpful/brilliant. Thank you CJ Hole and especially to Sigita for everything!

After changing agents to Martin & Co Cheltenham my property was remarketed in a very professional way and I had regular feedback all the way. Within 3 weeks I had an offer, which I accepted. Waiting on a quick completion. Beth and Karl are outstanding. I highly recommend them.
7th May 2025 (5 weeks ago)Horrible experience with the agent. Everything started really well when Ophelia and Tanya were still working there, but after they left, and especially after Tom Smith started managing our building, our life became unbearable. Constant damp in the property. In 2 years that we have been living at Flat 4, 121-123 Albion Street, they fixed only 1 wall and 2 other walls nobody even touched. And when contractors were mixing cement/plaster in our bedroom, they left some of the mix on the wall. And guess who's fault was it? Winkworth ( particularly Tom Smith) charged us £40 for cleaning. Tom wasn't really bothered to notify us when contractors were coming. Imagine you are in bed because you have a really high temperature and a strange man come into your flat. Or quite often we were coming from work and everything was covered in dust because they were doing something without even notifying us ( of we knew about it we be able to at least cover our clothes and move some furniture out). If you are unlucky enough that your dream property is listed with Winkworth, try to speak with Tom Mayfield. He is the best of them and quite knowledgeable.

They were incredibly helpful, patient, and professional, making everything smooth and stress-free. Their team was always available to answer any questions and went above and beyond to assist me. I truly appreciate their dedication and support. Highly recommend!
18th Mar 2024 (1 year ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

23rd May 2025 (20 days ago)Very professional, positive and realistic. Write up and viewings were quick and an excellent tenant was found. We were kept updated all the way through the process and with a feeling of being well looked after. Our arrangement was for tenant finder only, but Belvoir say they are still there for support during the tenancy should it be needed. THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND.

So, I found myself in the position of selling my late Grandmothers Bungalow, and Naylor Powell didn’t disappoint. From our first meeting, I knew Robert was the man for the job! I cannot fault the care and attention given by Robert. He’s an absolute star; professional, friendly, firm but fair with fantastic communication. Qualities that are crucial for the property market, which at times can be brutal and stressful. But felt totally at ease with the process. Now, we were lucky, first time buyer who was super keen to buy and of course, I was just selling a property so no hitches or complications but I’m sure that if you were buying/ selling and there were complications Naylor Powell are 100% the team for the job!
