Selling a property can be stressful, but Peter made the entire process smooth, straightforward, and even enjoyable. He was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly throughout. Nothing was ever too much trouble — he consistently went above and beyond at every stage. Whether it was keeping me updated, answering questions quickly, or handling unexpected challenges with total confidence, he exceeded every expectation I had. 15th Mar 2026 (22 days ago)Arranged to see a bungalow for my mum and dad last week and the team went out of the way, to sort everything out quickly and efficiently as they knew our situation. Andrew, met us and showed us around the property. Both myself and my partner thought he was wonderful! He was knowledgeable, informative, knew about the bungalow, the owner, the area AND the neighbours/planning etc. He was super polite and super friendly. He also offered many solutions and suggestions to issues with the property etc. Even my hard to please Mum (80yrs old, still scary) told me he was the best Estate Agent she'd experienced! Enough said really!

From the outset Andrew took a genuine interest in my property and plans, and the photographs and brochure he organised were excellent. Andrew kept me informed at all stages and the dedicated WhatsApp group proved a very efficient method of communicating. A very friendly and efficient firm and I would highly recommend them.
31st Mar 2026 (6 days ago)The worst agency. I had a flat with thia agency for 5 years. Whenever i had problems with property, they will never reply on emails if you dont send it multiple times, or call them. Even when they reply, it is very difficult for a solution from them. Some times I had to take a private contractor to do some urgent work with boiler or electricity. And when you ask for a refund for the amount you paid, they will try to charge you for that, so be careful and avoid them. Also make sure you make plenty of photos and videos when you move in the property, because when you leave they will try to keep your deposit. They will charge for things you woudn't imagine. I was lucky and smart i had proof when I moved in and out, otherwise my deposit would be gone. Try to avoid renting from them, and in case you do, make sure to have proof for everything, or they will try to act smart and steal your money. Rated 1 star only because i can't rate them lower.- 11th Apr 2025 (11 mo. ago)We had a great experience selling our home with Country Properties Hitchin. Alex in particular was excellent. We got great advice about our potential buyers and situations so we could accept the best overall offer for us. Alex kept us informed throughout the whole process and we wouldn’t hesitate to sell through them again and recommend others to use them.

I have been kept up to date throughout the process and feel confident that they are supporting me as a seller. I was a little concerned at first that their valuation was £25,000 above what another agent had provided, but I needn't have been as they secured an asking price offer a week after it went onto the market!

He also put us onto an excellent solicitor who always kept us unto date with progress. Overall marketing of our property was good with Ariel views and good internal photos.

31st Mar 2026 (6 days ago)5 valuations before choosing agent - 3 at £575000 & 2 at £600000+. Chose Ashtons because of their Assured Move scheme (which eventually buyers did not sign up to) & hope of higher price. Ashtons struck lucky with buyers asking for a property in my road before my house was officially on the market. They negotiated well to achieve £20000 above asking price to keep it off the market. My issues with Ashtons are the service & communication during the conveyancing. Nothing happened from my accepting the offer in mid December until mid January, not even a memorandum of sale. I had to chase this with Charlotte Turner, my sale progresser, who located it in a junk folder. I was promised weekly updates on the progress of the sale which did not happen - only sporadic contact. At the end of February/start of March I discovered, via my solicitor, that my buyers had lost the buyer for their house in early January but had since found a second cash buyer. The buyers had originally told Ashtons they didn’t need to sell in order to buy my house (true) but then decided to align their sale & purchase to ease the stamp duty. Why didn’t Ashtons find this out? Conversations with Ashtons at this point and some improvement in communication. My buyers were “economical with the truth” on several occasions but Ashtons did not uncover this - my solicitor did when I asked . Better progress in March resulting in exchange on March 25th & completion on March 27th. Flowers from Ashtons after completion.

10th Jan 2026 (12 weeks ago)I have been working closely with IW Estates over the last few weeks as they take over the management of my property portfolio. The service I have received has been outstanding and I am impressed with the “due diligence” they have undertaken. Giving the changing legislation affecting landlords, I feel confident that IW Estates will ensure compliance with the law. I also expect that my tenants will have confidence that issues arising with the property they are renting will be dealt with in a timely manner. My point of contact is Ellie Smith and she has been outstanding in terms of advising me, creating new tenancy agreements and meeting my tenants. I know that she is supported by others in IW Estates and my thanks go to them as well as to Ellie. In summary, in my view, a highly professional Company who do everything “by the book” and deserve to do well in the highly competitive lettings business.
