I have experienced a number of estate agents recently and over the years. When choosing a new estate agent in Ashford I tried out three. Northwood stood out for me in the first five seconds, a lovely greeting from the person in the office and 'would you like a tea or a coffee?' (I may have looked rather tired having seen a couple of other estate agents that morning!) When Mark and I spoke it quickly became obvious that he was very knowledgeable of the local areas and very experienced; in addition he was the consummate professional. This was the Estate Agent for me, and I was not disappointed. Mark lined up potential buyers and sold the property on the first viewing day! Impressive. Thank you to northwood and in particular, Mark, who did an excellent job. Next time I look at selling a property, these will be the estate agents for me, and there is no better recommendation one can give than this.

It’s a shame that I have to give them one star.
I used them as a landlord and could not have had a worse experience.
I came back to missing white goods, missing tools, screws and picture hooks in the walls, damaged kitchen work surface, shed full of the tenants possessions and even a bin (with no bottom) of dog feces in the garden.
They did an incomplete inventory which I was never sent a copy of until the tenancy finished and I requested it because of the issues- fixtures and fittings as basic as light switches and taps have been missed off and every wall even those just painted by a professional decorator described as minor cosmetic damage.
There was no checkout report done. I arranged to move back in three days after the tenancy ended however Northwood extended this by two days and claimed that from midday on the day the tenants left did not give them time to do a checkout report and never flagged this as an issue to me until I complained about all the issues I had and requested a copy of the checkout report.
I also had to twice ask for rent. In the April they did not pay it in and I had to ask for the payment, then for the two extra days that the tenants stayed after their last payment- this payment I had to chase twice for.
To top it off my complaint is met with examples of when they have done their job as if it excuses not doing the rest.
I am taking this to the property ombudsman as they are not only in breach of the contract they had with me but also the guidelines they are supposed to operate within.
If anyone would like to see evidence of this I have kept all the emails etc
