We had a super experience with Featherstone Leigh having bought, then rented out and finally sold our flat through them. All departments were great to deal with. Matt has been a reliable and trustworthy agent. Our sale was a dream, we had about 30 people view in the first week and an agreed sale at asking price by the tenth day. Can't recommend them enough. Many thanks.... Read more

Unfortunately I have been a tenant in a property managed by Feathertstone Leigh for 2 years and I have had errors and non-responsiveness nearly every time I have been in touch with them. If they are not getting a fee from the process they will to the utmost to not respond to you, having to chase them numerous times for each issue. Engineers turning up unannounced (during coronavirus, too), and then when contacted to let them know they would put the blame on the engineer. When originally signing contracts with them, they sent our documentation to two other people on two separate occasions. Constant spelling errors in contracts. When we left the property we were told to leave the keys in the office and the letting agents would contact the new tenants to arrange them collecting them the next day however I then had the new tenants contact me as they had received no contact from FL and were worried about how to access the property as their office had closed for the evening. The next day when they moved in FL gave them the incorrect keys twice. These are only a few of the many issues I have encountered and with them. They have consistently been so unprofessional and having lived in numerous rented properties this is the worst experience I have ever had with a letting agent. If you are a landlord and looking for someone to manage your property horrendously and never respond to your tenants then look no further.... Read more

An almost harrowing experience that does all estate agent stereotypes proud! Referencing of two people with solid and comfortable earnings required complicated accountants references, a page-long reference form from the MD of one's investment bank, intrusive disclosure and woeful disregard of private information and the data protection act Then there was the landlord who couldn't find his own lease or insurance documentation. And the clause in the Hamptons contract which asks the tenant to indemnify the landlord if their insurance doesn't pay out. It's very much "Hamptons and their client" vs. the tenant. Entirely unprofessional, definitely incompetent and quite appalling... Read more

The English house purchase system with its lack of early serious commitment seems designed to bring out the worst in people and encourage repeated attempts at gazundering. My buyers certainly exploited this to the full but calm, patient, super competent and ever charming Laura managed to steer both sides through all the crises to complete the sale. Much appreciated.... Beware and avoid at all costs or say bye to your deposit and nerves! These people are systematically there to rip off tenants during and after tenancy. Smiley and friendly Vinoath (who is the only professional person) will be quick and efficient in finding you a flat and getting the move in done. Then the nightmare starts with Natalie and Joanne, who will do anything to blame the customer as opposed to help. The worst is the check-out when Pritesh and team will do anything to get your money/deposit. The company representative told us that rarely do they such a flat in such tidy and clean condition returned as we did. And 3 weeks later we receive a request by Pritesh to pay 400 GBP for 'hooks' on the wall that had been there at move in and a mosquito found in a sink etc after us having done general cleaning. I have copied below the original "deduction sheet" below so you see 1st hand how they work. When asked for invoices for the work done for the 'deductions' they can't present anything, but instead of ever admitting faults on their side will go into e-mail ping pongs with you and your only way out with them is to sue them which we will do ! Good luck to anyone dealing with them! Very bad service. I won't use them again. I called on Friday ( 1st call after posting the apartment) to request a viewing as I was very interested and they booked me in for a viewing on Monday, then Monday the appointment was cancelled by John D Wood. Apparently they did not have the keys of the apartment and they were supposed to contact me once they would get them from the landlord. It was all very strange to me and my husband ( English speaker) called them to book an appointment without saying I was trying to book it before. The lady from the agency confirmed an appointment!! but I was still waiting for them to contact me. After two days I called them and they said that the apartment was already let!! How come? They did not cancel the appointment with my husband. In conclusion, I think they do not want any non English speakers clients. Very bad Service! Very disappointed!!... Read more

"Ripping off optimized" is the opinion we ended with regarding James Anderson estate agents. We have rented in England for 11+ years, in and out of London. The one year spent in a flat managed by James Anderson was remarkably a worse experience. Hence this review. Summarizing some highlights: · About two days prior moving into the flat, James Anderson tried to change the agreed to terms of the tenancy and increase the rent! We were obviously vacating the previous place and had nowhere to go. It was extortion. · The rented flat was in fifth floor of Deanhill court in East Sheen and accessed via a lift. The lift started breaking down frequently, which meant we had to use the service access stairs on a regular basis. These stairs are outside the building and was not safe for our kid. We asked to move out of flat before the end of the tenancy period. But James Anderson held us to the full term. We agree that was the contract. But our opinion that James Anderson could have been more considerate. · When it came to advertising the flat at the end of our tenancy, they advertised using outdated photos (more than two years old) and information (e.g. claiming the oven used daily for a year as new). A James Anderson representative stated advertising with such outdated photos is not legal but a “grey” area. · It took James Anderson more than seven weeks to return the undisputed amount of the tenancy deposit! · Our opinion that James Anderson made unfair claims on the tenancy deposit. This lead to a disputed claim which was later handled via a dispute resolution service. · The produced checkout inventory was clearly doctored. This was obvious as it contained photos taken at a much later date from the end of the tenancy! Apart from comments stated as opinions, other statements above are in our email conversations with James Anderson and their advertisements. Ripping off optimized - our conclusion about James Anderson estate agents. ... Read more

Chase Buchanan - Richmond

Dawn headed a team for our purchase close to the stamp duty rise. Through hers and the Chase team's tireless coordination and efforts we managed to get this completed on the day of the deadline despite obstructions from the surveyors and our own mortgage provider. From our first impromptu meeting where we walked in off the street unannounced, to the final decision, Dawn was professional, positive and realistic - pushing everyone to do what they could. She project managed and man managed throughout and without her involvement, I'm not convinced we would have completed on time - thus saving us 3% of on our total costs. We thank her so much for taking this on with such dedication at such a busy time. We were so impressed with Dawn, and Chase that we now Let our property with them and have had a tenant in since the first month after exchange.... Read more

I just wanted to say thank you to Dan Johns of Chase Buchanan in Richmond for all of his help and advice with my recent search. My partner and I are considering a purchase in the area, and Dan showed us around a few properties. He was extremely knowledgeable about the properties and the area. Whilst we did not purchase a property on this occasion I wanted to express my gratitude for Dan's help. All too often reviews are only left regarding poor experiences. I will not hesitate to give Dan a call when the search continues.... Read more
