There was uncertainty for a time whether we were going to be able to secure the property but thanks to Tom and Vic they made it happen for us and now we are in our beautiful first family home. 10th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)Recently moved in to a property let by Dixons, Edgbaston branch. Rent is £950 per month. Upon moving in, we had no working fridge/freezer for 4 months. It had last been PAT tested in 2017. Fridge was connected to the supply through a hole in the wall, which is quite clearly not legit.<br>Landlords were not sorting issues, and we had essentially been let an unsafe, unchecked flat, with a knackered fridge/freezer. Landlords had stored it in an internal cupboard to hide extent of the damage.<br>Went in branch to discuss with Dixons. They said we were on our own. All they do is let the property, and then will have nothing to do with any issues...<br>But you rented this property to us, declaring it was ready to move in? The kitchen tiles are cracked, cupboards hanging off walls and we're left to deal with the disruption of repairs etc.<br>They'll rush you in, take your money, and leave you in a flat that's quite clearly unsafe and needed fixing before new tenants moved in. Would not use again and will definitely not be recommending to anyone.

3rd Sep 2026 (14 days ago)My experience with Northwood Birmingham has been disappointing and frustrating.<br><br>?Communication is consistently poor. Emails and phone calls go ignored, and getting a response requires chasing them repeatedly for weeks. It feels completely unprofessional, especially when you expect basic courtesy and responsiveness in return.<br><br>?More importantly, their property management standards are unacceptable.<br><br>After the tenants moved out, the property was left in a miserable condition. As a landlord paying for management, you expect your property to be looked after, but Northwood fell far short.<br><br>?I hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes necessary improvements to their customer service and inspection standards.
15th Sep 2026 (2 days ago)We chose Connells because they are a nationwide estate agent. The agents who came to carry out the valuation and take the photographs were fantastic. However, the agent responsible for conducting the viewings was late, which resulted in a queue of prospective buyers waiting outside the house. As there was no sales board displayed, and the situation was attracting attention from the neighbours, I let the buyers in myself. When the agent did arrive, she spent less than 15 minutes in the property, while we waited outside the house in my car. Furthermore, the buyer of the house wanted to pay us £10,000 directly. This was communicated to us through the agent. I spoke to the buyer but felt very uncomfortable with the situation, so I blocked them and told them to proceed through the proper channels. I found this highly unprofessional, and we should never have been placed in this position.

14th Sep 2026 (3 days ago)I would not recommend Oakmans based on my experience.<br><br>I moved out of my property on 28 August 2026 and completed the checkout process properly. I handed my keys back in person at around 9am, the keys were scanned and photographed, and I signed the handover confirmation. I also completed and personally handed in the Deposit Release & Outgoing Services form on the same day.<br><br>Oakmans subsequently confirmed to me in writing that “the handover has been completed.”<br><br>My tenancy deposit is £1,125, and I have still received no clear update about when it will be returned. I have contacted them by email but have not received a response from the deposit team. When I called the office, I was told that deposit matters could not be discussed over the phone.<br><br>What is particularly frustrating is that I have followed the procedures Oakmans themselves provided, yet I am being left without any information about my money.<br><br>The new tenants have already moved into the property, so I expected the checkout and deposit process to be dealt with promptly.<br><br>Very poor communication and customer service. I simply want a clear explanation of the status of my £1,125 deposit and when it will be returned.<br><br>I would strongly recommend keeping written records of everything if you are renting through Oakmans.
