From the very first viewing right through to checking in that we’d moved in safely, he’s been absolutely brilliant. He was professional, relatable, approachable and genuinely helpful throughout the whole process. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and he kept us informed every step of the way which made everything so much less stressful. Communication was clear and efficient from start to finish, and arranging access was very straightforward, thanks to Marie for coordinating everything so smoothly. Pete, who attended, replaced the dripping tap with a new one and was friendly, professional, and efficient throughout. The work was completed quickly and to a high standard. Very happy with the service overall, highly recommend!
12th Mar 2026 (15 days ago)My son is currently a tenant in an HMO managed by Nicolas Humphreys, and the experience has been extremely poor. When he moved in, he submitted an inventory with photos highlighting numerous issues. More than 32 weeks later, despite repeated emails and phone calls, most of these issues remain unresolved. We have been told on several occasions that the repairs were completed and that proof would be provided, yet no evidence has ever been shared. There appears to be no accurate record of what work has been done, and no urgency to address the outstanding problems. Given that this is student accommodation, it feels as though the agency relies on young tenants not knowing what standards to expect. They have even attempted to shift blame onto me as guarantor, while asking an uninvolved student in the property to confirm what was outstanding. At present, seven emails remain unanswered without me having to chase for a reply, and multiple requests for a manager to call me back have been ignored. Based on our experience, I would strongly advise avoiding this agency. I last emailed them on 30 January with the full list of outstanding jobs, and there has still been no progress.

18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

22nd Mar 2026 (5 days ago)Associate director consciously chose to breach trust rendering my relationship with the company as both a seller and buyer, completely untenable. My interests were entirely secondary as demonstrated by their actions. I received assurances they weren’t prepared to uphold, was made promises they weren’t prepared to keep and set expectations they weren’t prepared to follow through. Avoid this estate agent and use one of the many others available.
16th Mar 2026 (11 days ago)I am glad I found my place to live with Comfort Estates. Aran and Evie were most helpful and accommodating, answering all my questions and not letting any doubts persist about the process of renting with them. Very positive experience, would recommend.
