Appointments were arranged promptly, communications were clear and helpful, and every effort was made to ensure the process ran smoothly. I found her manner both attentive and reassuring, qualities one does not always encounter, and which are therefore all the more welcome.<br>It is a pleasure to recommend Kaci most warmly. 5th Aug 2026 (7 weeks ago)Salter Rex managed our block of seven flats for seven years. Throughout that time, in our experience, the building suffered from ongoing rodent infestations, the communal areas were in a terrible state, the communal front door could literally be pushed open if you leaned on it, there were serious security concerns, and the carpets had become trip hazards. The condition of the building was, in our opinion, completely unacceptable.<br><br>Over the years, the service charges increased to around £1,800 per flat, per year. There are seven flats in the building, so you do the maths. Whenever we questioned the charges or requested supporting invoices for the contractors, maintenance or cleaning that we were paying for through the service charge, we felt our concerns were dismissed and were instead met with threats of debt recovery or court action if payment wasn’t made.<br><br>About a year ago, one of the other leaseholders put a note through my tenants’ door asking to get in touch because they had also had enough. As all of our flats were tenanted, it was incredibly difficult to track each other down, but eventually we managed to make contact with every leaseholder.<br><br>Together, all seven leaseholders instructed a solicitor and exercised our legal Right to Manage. For anyone who doesn’t know, Right to Manage (RTM) is a legal process that allows qualifying leaseholders to take over the management of their building by forming their own RTM company. It took around a year, but we were successful.<br><br>We have now removed Salter Rex as our managing agent and taken control of our own building. We appoint our own contractors, decide how our service charge money is spent and invest it back into improving the building instead of paying excessive management fees.<br><br>To any leaseholders who have had a similar experience with Salter Rex, or any other managing agent, please don’t assume you’re stuck with them. Look into your Right to Manage. It is absolutely possible to remove your managing agent if the leaseholders work together. It takes time, patience and commitment, but I can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions we’ve made.<br><br>And finally, to Salter Rex: the way we felt we were treated over the last seven years was deeply disappointing. I genuinely don’t know how you sleep at night, but I do know one thing I sleep a lot better knowing my hard-earned money is no longer going into your pockets.<br><br>Peace & love.

19th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)We bought two years ago and recently recommended them to our neighbours who are selling, which made me think I should finally leave a review (which I promised to do at the time...sorry Tony!)<br>Tony was great, talked to us realistically about budgets, time frames, and expectations as first time buyers. He even recommended us a mortgage broker when ours when quiet, who came through and helped us to complete.<br>Tony knows the area, his trade, and is a genuine guy with good intentions - would use again if we move for sure!

Even boasting about "striving for a transparent and efficient selection process" when all they do is probably get as much info from you as possible (including a video introduction of yourself), then run away with the information they got.

She is, by far, the best estate agent we met in all of that time. We have very small children that we had concerns about bringing along to view properties but June assured us that she would help keep them entertained & she did just that - my little boy still asks why June isn't with us in our new home!<br>June also recommended that we viewed the house (which we brought through Prospects) even though we had initially dismissed it. Needless to say - we couldn't be more grateful. June has a real eye for detail, walks you through what you can do with a property, is friendly, will help you with small children & find you the house you didn't know you wanted!<br>June, you set the standard that other estate agents should aspire to.<br>Thank you again!<br>Steph
17th Sep 2026 (5 days ago)We had ongoing issues with the honesty and support we received from this agency during our purchase. Our independently arranged snagging inspector had a failed visit because the developer forgot the appointment and the property wasn't ready. We were charged £399 by the inspector, in line with his standard terms for a missed visit. Rather than holding the developer accountable, a staff member phoned our inspector and questioned his honesty about how the booking was made. The inspector later told us this in writing himself, describing it as "concerning." Only after he pushed back with a clear account of events did the agency admit in writing that we "certainly shouldn't be charged for a service that wasn't carried out," but no resolution was actually offered. Separately, when we queried being asked to cover the developer's solicitor's fees, our own solicitor had already explained the general process to us. Our concern was that the developer wasn't following up as agreed to justify the specific charge. Despite this, we were told the agency was "surprised our solicitor hadn't explained it", which wasn't accurate, since it had been explained. Our actual query was never properly addressed. Our experience was that when we raised legitimate concerns, the agency's instinct was to defend the developer rather than engage honestly with what we were telling them.

11th Sep 2026 (11 days ago)The market for high value properties is difficult atm. After 15 weeks with Hunters we only had one viewing and no sale. We decided to switch agents. We were very impressed with the initial property inspection and valuation. The team who we met were very pleasant. We were disappointed at the lack of communication from them. Only 1 call apart from the viewing in 15 weeks. It left us with the impression that they were not taking actions to sell the property apart from putting it on the portals.
21st Mar 2026 (6 mo. ago)Haven’t received any rent as a landlord since December 2025! They refuse to answer the phone, answer emails, answer instagram messages and I am now owed for the outstanding finances. Absolute awful behaviour - do not list your property with them!!!!

17th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)I had a very positive experience with Bensons throughout the 3.5 years I rented a property managed by them.<br><br>From the very beginning, communication was always excellent: professional, friendly and very responsive. Whenever an issue arose, the team was proactive, diligent and quick to follow up until it was resolved.<br><br>I also really appreciated their strong local presence and knowledge of the area, which gives the agency a much more personal feel than some of the larger property management companies.<br><br>Towards the end of my tenancy, they were also extremely helpful in providing me with a detailed landlord reference for my next rental application abroad, which I greatly appreciated.<br><br>Overall, a very professional, reliable and genuinely helpful agency that I would happily recommend.<br><br>Many thanks to Maria, Nicholas and the whole team for their help over the years.
