We were led to believe the market was good and to give it a go at the higher end of the valuation. We were promised a premium marketing plan with professional photos and description which would justify the premium price valuation for the area. We agreed to wait 3 weeks to launch on Boxing Day being led to believe there would be several enquiries and viewing requests to hold an open house event in January. Despite having 3 weeks to prepare the marketing materials the standard was far below expectations. The photographs were poor the description omitted several of the unique selling features of our house . We were presented with the brochure the day before the deadline for the Boxing Day launch and requested several initial amendments to the description but we could not alter the photographs so I was forced to take some photos myself to be included. Following a subsequent complaint we were told that if we’re not satisfied with the marketing we were at liberty to suggest changes with no acknowledgement of the short timescale and the extremely poor standard of the initial marketing. I was later told by the sales manager that the photographs and description are not that important anyway !!! We were told that the agents would be ringing around purchasers on their books to generate interest. When we had no interest generated and asked what they had done we never received a full answer which would match what had been promised. We began to hear stories of WH Brown not getting back to potential purchasers when leaving answer phone messages and suspect ( though cannot be proven ) that this happened to us . We believe this because in a four month period an almost identical property had 7 viewings when we only had 1. When we stopped contacting the branch we heard nothing from them for a whole month at which point we submitted a formal complaint. In our experience this agency did the very minimum to sell our house. The initial confidence led us to sign a sole agency agreement which now means that if we sell to one of 3 clients they claim they introduced ( highly unlikely but not the point) They will persue a claim for 3% fee . Be very wary of signing such a contract.
27th May 2025 (17 days ago)On the letting side I never use again, unprofessional and constantly make mistakes…. The selling side is good, communication not often the best in certain areas but the sales team do their best
16th Apr 2025 (8 weeks ago)WARNING! Avoid at all costs. There's are some good letting agents in Lincoln unfortunately my experience with Martin and co was terrible. The staff are rude and unprofessional and blatantly lie to try to steal their tenants deposits as can be seen by their reviews (72% giving a 1 star review) for the company as a whole! Companies that routinely try to steal from their tenants, some of whom are vulnerable and/or cannot afford to wait many weeks to get the DPS to step in and act on their behalf, should be outed.- 10th Jun 2025 (3 days ago)Not one viewing or enquiry, never kept in touch. Disgusted with them and their service.

I’d been in contact with Oli for a few months whilst looking for a property and he was very proactive in letting me know of any new properties coming to the market that would be suitable. I am now in the process of purchasing a property listed by Pygott and Crone and Oliver has been so helpful and responsive throughout the process.
20th May 2025 (24 days ago)I used Sharman & Burgess for both my sale & purchase & moved last December 2024 a week before Xmas. I can’t thank Andrew Pears enough for all the help & advice he gave me, it was an extremely stressful time as my husband died during all of this upheaval & Andrew did all he could to hurry things along & sorting out all sorts of problems & delays. As a buyer, previously let down by other agents when trying to purchase a house, I have been extremely impressed from day one with Chloe, who provided outstanding service and support throughout. She arrived promptly to show us around the property, was knowledgeable about the house and the surrounding area and, once an offer had been negotiated and agreed, was extremely efficient in getting all paperwork across to us and our solicitors. Chloe maintained regular contact with both us and the sellers while the sale was going through and helped move things along to a swift and successful completion within less than 2 months of us first viewing the property. She has been nothing but friendly and super helpful all the way through and we are so grateful for her help and support. An absolute tip-top service and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. 5 star!

From the get go, the contacts from/with Ed (and the other members of the Lincoln office) have been friendly and engaging. Ed has been brilliant in response times to emails/calls and explaining "the intricacies' of closed bids (something I'd not had much awareness of). I used to work in customer services and his comment on his emails of "If you have any other questions feel free to ask! ????" hits exactly the right note with anyone reading it! Well done Ed!!!
