1st Jul 2026 (5 weeks ago)We would recommend Percival's to anyone needing property management or to sell a property. Georgina and team manage 2 properties for us and we recently decided to sell one of them following the end of one of the tenancies. Georgina was extremely helpful in guiding us on how best to prepare for the sale and then actively managed all aspects of the process leading to a successful sale at the price we sought to first time buyers. While the property was empty and prior to the sale the hot water tank burst which was only apparent when the water company alerted us to unusual water consumption. Not living locally Georgina offered to drop by and investigate on our behalf to find that not only had the tank burst but the water was in danger of causing a fire with the electrics. The team drained the system and made safe before arranging for repairs to the plumbing and the electrics to be safety checked. We are hugely appreciative of all the service we receive from the Percival's team who constantly go above and beyond and would recommend them to anyone seeking a property agent in the area.
19th Mar 2026 (20 weeks ago)Poor experience with this letting agent, not helped by the tightest landlord (Kate) who wouldn't pay for repairs to be done in a timely manner, leaving our family in tricky circumstances more than once. When they do eventually send someone over to complete the work, it'll be done shoddily. I hope that £43 you managed to claim back via the DPS versus the nearly £800 you asked for is helpful :) To any renters - be under no illusion, the letting agent works for the landlord and is not there to help you in the slightest. This specific letting agents manager will suggest you scrape and replaster the bathroom ceiling (which was poorly maintained by the landlord) yourself "to make the house your own".

9th Jul 2026 (26 days ago)I contacted Saffron Naylor in the Maintenance Dept to request that a contractor be appointed to paint the window frames of my property. She engaged the contractor & supplied me with a quote which I accepted. She agreed to hold back rent money, plus I sent the difference by bank transfer to cover the full costs of the job. The work was carried out on Monday & I am pleased with how it looks & how Saffron has managed this. She is efficient, thoughtful & helpful and an asset to your business. 21st Jul 2026 (14 days ago)From the moment I met laura we got the vibe for how lovely she was! We just gelled really from her first house viewing we did altogether.. she was kind and attentive to our needs and thought we would suit the house which is still our top runner to the present day! We are hoping we will deal with Laura more during our house move as we know we will be well looked after!<br><br>I just wanted to mention too that Laura and Dawn come to do our evaluation on our property and were very kind , attentive especially with me as a mum of a 2.5 year old that was very tired and worn out on our first day of potty training … something I won’t forget it how they really cared about me and my little boy during the whole time they were here and really apologetic about taking up my time. I felt really quite embarrassed at how the evaluation went as my son is going through a really tough time emotionally right now and they were really nice to me and made me feel at ease.<br><br>We will recommend Martin and co to our friends and family especially where Laura and Dawn are involved because there effects are seamless and patience really shines through.<br><br>Many Thanks,<br><br>Jasmine , Dean and Noah
14th May 2026 (12 weeks ago)Wouldn’t use this agent again to help find a property. Communication was very poor throughout the process. We viewed a property back in February and were initially told the landlord wouldn’t accept our application. Later, after the property had not had many viewings, they accepted an application from us. We were completely transparent from the start about a recently paid-off CCJ. After going through referencing, we were left waiting only to eventually be told the landlord decided not to proceed after another interested party came along. This could and should have been communicated much earlier. The agency seems to prioritise landlord decisions at the expense of customer care and basic communication. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

They sold our house before it had even officially gone to market, with their efficiency and proactive approach.<br><br>The whole team was friendly, professional and always on the ball. Communication was excellent throughout, and the entire process was handled smoothly with no hiccups at all.<br><br>A special mention goes to Lee, the photographer, whose attention to detail was outstanding and the photographs superb.<br>A very important aspect of the house selling process in my book.<br>Also, thank you to Tommy Johnson, our Residential Valuer, whose professionalism, knowledge and enthusiasm gave us confidence from the very start.<br><br>The marketing was first-class and made a real difference. The experience was chalk and cheese compared with another estate agency we used last year, where we had poor communication, very little proactive input and, ultimately, no results.<br><br>We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Pygott & Crone to anyone looking to sell their home.

Experienced zero support even when I tried to discuss strategy to ensure better interest in my property. I feel I wasted 16 weeks with little communication or care. Glad to be moving on with another local agent who has already proved themselves to be much more engaged with the seller than I experienced with Hunters in Horncastle.

However recently I’m not sure if there has been changes but the dynamic seems to be even better with the team and you can tell they all really get on. I’d like to especially give props to Karen and Mason as there has never been a point where their energy fails to prevail through the phone and no request is ever too much. I think Mason might be new and he seems a great chirpy chap. I will always recommend Lovelle to my family and friends and will continue to use them for any future needs.

13th Aug 2025 (11 mo. ago)From the first time we meet Charlotte we was really impressed we felt she very friendly and had our best interest in mind she gave us the confidence to sell our property and look for a property that was more suitable for us. We are now much happier in our dream property that we would never have purchased if it was not for Charlotte giving us some confidence. Claire who we never meet but was just has friendly and kept us up to date on how sale was going and chasing solicitors etc. We are glad everything worked out in the end and would definitely recommend Charlotte and Claire to any body buying or selling Michael/Alison Whelan

15th Jul 2025 (1 year ago)Overpromised, Underperformed and Untrustworthy – My Costly Mistake with HSD I initially listed my property with PurpleBricks in March 2025 for £535,000. After limited viewings over a three-month period, I began exploring other options and submitted an enquiry to WeBuyAnyHouse. They quickly came back with an offer of £460,000—roughly 14% below asking—claiming it would allow for a quick sale. I immediately declined, as I was not in a rush and didn’t want to take such a significant loss. Shortly after, my details were apparently passed on to House Sales Direct (HSD), seemingly a sister company, without my explicit consent. HSD came across as professional and engaging at first. They promised a 98% success rate in selling properties within 28 days, citing a strong network of pre-approved buyers and investors who could complete within 6–8 weeks. They suggested a sale price spread of £510k–£535k, assuring me they would work to get me the best price possible. It sounded promising. Based on these assurances, I decided to proceed with HSD. I withdrew my PurpleBricks listing—costing me £300—with the understanding that HSD’s investor network would accelerate the sale. But things quickly began to unravel. Despite supposedly having investors lined up, HSD said they needed to relist my property on Rightmove first. When I questioned why investors couldn’t simply view the home, the response was vague. It took nearly two weeks for them to relist, and the new asking price was £525,000. A full week passed without any communication. Then came a call recommending the price be dropped to £499,000. I was told this was “just a marketing tactic,” and that they still aimed to get me a sale within the original £510k–£535k range. But I struggled to understand how listing a property nearly £40,000 lower would achieve that. I asked again about the investors. They finally admitted the only offer received was the same £460k I'd declined weeks earlier through WeBuyAnyHouse. This was when the red flags really began to show. Why wasn’t I told this upfront? Why present an optimistic price range if their investor offer was fixed at £460k from the beginning? Why was I encouraged to pull the property from PurpleBricks if they intended to rely on the open market anyway? I could have just reduced the price there and avoided unnecessary costs and delays. Doing more research online, I found stories from others with eerily similar experiences. It appeared HSD’s real model was to attract sellers with high expectations and then drop the price, relying on open-market tactics to force a quick sale. Despite claiming not to charge commission, they would never clearly explain how they made their money. It seems they may be negotiating higher prices with buyers while offering sellers less—profiting off the gap. No transparency, no trust. Meanwhile, they knew I was paying a high mortgage on an empty property. It became clear they were hoping I’d become desperate enough to accept the same low £460k offer I had already rejected twice. In the four weeks my property was listed with them, only four viewings were arranged. Two were no-shows. Of the remaining two, one viewer stayed for just five minutes—asked no questions and didn’t even view all the rooms. It felt performative, not serious. As expected, neither viewer submitted an offer, despite supposedly being “pre-qualified and keen.” Eventually, I told HSD I wanted to withdraw the property. That’s when I was informed—shockingly—that I had unknowingly signed up for a 52-week contract, and I’d need to pay £1,500 to exit, or £999 if paid within 7 days. I wrote to them, acknowledged that they had done some work, and offered a reasonable £699 exit fee, explaining I needed to rent the home out due to financial strain. They refused and insisted on full payment. I paid the £999 immediately—but it still took a full week and several chasers before they finally removed the property from Rightmove. By the end of the ordeal, it was clear I was no longer a priority for them. In summary: Do I regret choosing HSD? Absolutely. Would I recommend them to someone looking for a fair, transparent, and professional house sale experience? No. If your only goal is to sell quickly and you don’t care about value, they might work for you. But if you want to sell your home at a decent price with a partner you can trust, I strongly advise staying away from HSD.
