Elissia ensured that the sale of my house ran as smoothly as possible. She kept calm, was re-assuring and very proactive chasing up solicitors on a regular basis. There were complications along the way but Elissia took control and made things happen. On the day before completion there was a plumbing crisis and Elissia had it dealt with within minutes. Elissia is the agent you hope to have when selling your house. Highly recommended by me and a big thanks!

James was absolutely fantastic from first engagement, ensuring that he fully understood details of the chain before recommending an offer be accepted, through to chasing and ensuring matters progressed whilst keeping me updated on progress. I would definitely recommend.

Katie has been supportive and compassionate in times of needing repairs or help. Katie has excellent communication skills, professionalism, very responsive and thoughtful. Repairs have been completed swiftly. Very happy :-)
24th Oct 2024 (6 mo. ago)I had a terrible experience with this letting agency. My stepdaughter and her friends rented a student property, and throughout their tenancy, maintenance issues were completely ignored. The agency was impossible to get hold of, leaving the property in poor condition for months. At the end of the tenancy, they unjustly withheld the deposit, forcing the girls to go through the Deposit Protection Scheme to get it back. Thankfully, the scheme sided with them today, but it makes me wonder how many other students this agency is exploiting, hoping they won't fight back. Avoid at all costs!

31st Oct 2024 (6 mo. ago)I had an absolutely terrible experience with Alan Cooke. The house was selling for 7 months. Starting with a lack of knowledge of the market, as the price suggested was too high, then chain broke (no agency fault), but 1 min after they got the money… they didn’t care! They couldn’t even make ONE simple phone call 5 min after completion, so I lost £450… and the buyer was lied to instead. I was away, so house was nearly empty, but wanted to give the remaining furniture to a charity. On that day I asked a friend to empty whatever was left - he did… unfortunately including a key safe and put the keys 5 meters (!!!) away from the place it meant to be (by the entry door). He assumed the agency had another key. Do you think Alan Cooke called me when the new owner didn’t find keys in the agreed place?! No, they said to the new owner to get a Locksmith lying they tried to call me as I was in a meeting. I wasn’t, had no meetings, no unanswered calls from AC and instead had phonecalls from solicitors as of course was available - I was selling the house! I knew within 5 min where there keys were when the solicitor told me about it, but why Alan Cook didn’t tell me that the poor new owner was standing outside the door for 4hr… only to find out the key was 5 meters away from him?! Disgusting… I was also equally disgusted by Jeremy’s nasty comments about the competition, criticising their adverts etc etc. I can tell you one thing… Morfitt Shaw will sell your house for a flat fee £1234. Well you wonder, but I bought a house through them 2.5 years earlier and it was a smooth process. Sold my other house with them in February within 3 weeks (no, didn’t want paying more to Alan Cook on that one despite not knowing the terrible final £450 drama). Had three offers including a cash buyer with Morfitt Shaw and guess what, made well above even bank’s valuation, despite Jeremy criticising their marketing approach. … you be the judge

22nd Jul 2024 (10 mo. ago)I have dealt with thomlinsons for nearly 13 years and have always found the staff to be friendly if I had any issues they were dealt with as soon as they could I have mostly dealt with Jane Bruce at wetherby what a lovely lady Jane is my emails and calls were always replied to as soon as possible I have not ever not had a response Jane is knowledgeable on all aspects of housing matters and is a kind caring lady I would not hesitate to use thomlinsons again
